Software or no? This Writer’s Dilemma.

I was poking around Amazon looking at reviews for writing software; thinking it may help me write better and faster manuscripts for the pile of anthologies I'd like to try for. All their due dates are pretty close so I may not be able to get to all of them at my present pace.

As I read the reviews for these things, I had to ask myself: Before I shell out the money for this, (be it $49 or $200) what exactly will this do for me? Do I even need this? I'm fairly organized, I keep notes, I jot things down in margins as I go to keep the book on point. So, would software make this process go any faster or would it be flushing my money down the toilet? If anybody out there uses such things, would love to hear about your experiences.

  1. I use Word at the moment, but downloaded a beta version of Scrivener to try out. Still going through the guidance but it does look good. I’ve read some good reviews so that is an option and you can try it free for 30-days.

    1. Oh, I use Word and Open Office (I have a little netbook I use on the go). I was just wondering if I needed anything more complicated than that. I am gonna try some demos and see if they make a difference in my writing. šŸ™‚ Thank you! šŸ˜€
