Lenni Reviews: “Shuriken and Pleats” vol 2 by Matsuri Hino

In this second and apparently last volume, Mikage continues to try and live as a normal girl but there is more conflict concerning her former master’s involvement in these genetically modified seeds his family has.

Ok, this volume feels rushed and odd. The way Mikage gets roped back into being a shinobi again is predictable and pushed out as fast as possible. Where the first volume had this well paced introduction, this one is like two or three volumes crammed into one so I had trouble caring what happened at all. And the cute crush Mikage has on her master went from cute to creepy real quick. All the cute charm is gone and the story just stumbles over itself and gives up.

What a shame… Gotta give it 2.5 out of 5.
