Workout Challenge Catch-up!

June is always a crazy month but this time was extra crazy. Registering for a new school, waiting for legal stuff to be done, summer reading stuff at work, the general hatred I have for hot muggy weather, the child’s birthday… All madness. And I’ve been making even more headway on getting rid of crap around the house. Luckily, I’m still managing to to a workout of some kind every day as I get things done both at work and at home. I know I’m behind on blogging but I’m getting there. I’m not sure I’ll be able to get a Patreon update for this month but, I’ll do my best.

I had to use up some of the meat in the deep freezer since my next Butcher Box was this month and while I think I’m about done with chicken thighs for awhile, this garlic lemon pepper chicken and pasta was really good! And the fancy Itaki steamed this to warm it back up so the meat wasn’t dry as fuck like it is when I use a microwave. My kid did say it needed salt which may seem shocking but yeah, I didn’t use that much salt to cook this meal. I figured if I really needed to, I’d add some when I was ready to eat it. And honestly, it didn’t need much. The marinade provided plenty of flavor.

But expect a lot of salad or sandwich featured meals for these sorts of posts for awhile. It’s too hot to bother with the oven or the stove. My office is always cold so, I don’t mind using the Itaki.

Today’s Workout: It hurts but…

This workout means pain but it’s quickly becoming my favorite from the Atlas Shape selections so far. Aside for lunges, squats, jumping jacks, and Russian twist, there’s this thing called the Prone Hip Driver where you start in a plank position push your hips up as high as you can, then lower back into a plank. It is NOT easy. The first time I tried this I could only do 8 reps and now I can do 10!

And BOY do I ever feel it in my abs the next day.

Truth be told, my belly has always been an issue for me (gee, nobody has ever said that before) and I like the Hip Driver because it also works my arms to hold that plank. It’s important core work that needs doing if I’m going to run any faster.
