Today’s Workout: Taking advantage of laundry day

It’s probably not a good idea to admit how many workouts I’ve done that were spurred on by dirty clothes. Back when I only had one decent sports bra, I would literally put the damn thing on first thing on the morning to make sure I felt gross enough to do a workout to justify a shower because I let that filthy thing touch my skin. This isn’t the case these days but still, if I’m gonna have a morning to kill, I might as well mess up a sports bra with the promise that it would be clean by the end of the day. The method to my laundry madness is I do my bedding first since making the bed sucks. Hey, I’ll take any type of motivation. I’d used that back in lockdown; I’d put on my workout clothes first thing, then make sure I’d had a reason to put them on. Using my aversion to being filthy to workout is a little hack I’ve discovered. I dunno if I’d recommend it to anyone else.

I will freely admit that part of my motivation to run in the morning was that once I was done, I’d pop by my favorite bagel place for that and an iced coffee, only to find that they were closed. Look, my very Pagan Witch self forgets what non-Pagan holidays are happening sometimes, but I hid my very inconsequential problem by having a salad after my run. I did chores for the rest of the day and had the very lame victory of an empty hamper by bedtime. I had some steak and a potato laying around. I made myself some hand cut fries that were damn good! It’s pretty easy to have fries soaking and drying to fry properly when you’re doing a bunch of other cleaning around it. I even double fried them! Gosh, I’m so fancy. Or I’m seeing what cost-cutting measures I can take as the world burns down around me….

Today’s Workout: Long Day

I almost didn’t bother today. I had to take the kid to the doctor for an 8 am appointment then go do work after. I was tired, without coffee, and had to talk myself out of just coasting through the day. It’s a desk peddler. It’s not like I have to travel anywhere to do it or I’m unable to do something else while peddling. I just buckled down and did it.

I used up the last of the green beans for lunch and since this was pretty filling, I just had popcorn for dinner. That seems to be my hump day dinner since I’m so wiped out. I will absolutely have green beans in my veggie rotation. It cooks reasonably fast and works well with all the usual spices and such that I use. Maybe I’ll give it a shot at growing some to save money. We’ll see.

Today’s Workout: Not Fun

I’ve been taking it easy because I ended up with food poisoning on Sunday night after work. I usually am able to make a take out order last three days so, I didn’t think it was a big deal to heat up my leftover Chinese from Fritday before I went to work on Sunday. By the end of the night, I was vomiting. It got so bad, I couldn’t even hold down stomach meds to stop the vomiting. I ended up staying home from work Monday and clearly not doing any running or biking. I could barely stand up straight from the painful gas buildup. I feel better not and did another body weight workout with Zombies Run. I have to say, this is the first mission that made me actively dislike Sam. He’s always been my favorite and here he’s just the worst.

I was able to hold down my normal type of food and stay around 1,000 calories even without the Saxenda. There was NO WAY I was going to deal with the side effects of that AND food poisoning. No fucking thank you. The pasta was really comforting for dinner after all the stomach issues. I tried this with the lemon-flavored olive oil from Trader Joe’s and it was SO good. It ain’t cheap but it’s good. I will absolutely keep getting it as long as they don’t discontinue it.

Today’s Workout: Too close?

wp-17237735567786034339742998731797

Still on the desk peddler kick but I’m fine with it. The weather is cooling off and I’ve been missing running so, I’m gonna try to find a way to fit that back into my schedule. Probably not running outside but absolutely on the treadmill.

Since I am still working on finishing the chicken thighs I made, I prepped on Itaki with that and the other with beef cubes and bok choy. Due to the way my schedule shook out today, I feel like I ate these meals WAY too close together. I had lunch around 1:30 and dinner at 5:30-ish and by the end of dinner, I felt like a rolly-polly overstuffed turkey. It was uncomfortable but honestly, it’s better than before the Saxenda where I’d come home from work on a late night and be starving. I kinda miss those late night visits to Taco Bell but, it’s better all around if I avoid that. And fast food makes me sick most of the time now…

Today’s Workout: June Complete!

Yup, I’m still trying to do at least 30 minutes of something every day and my steps are up. So, I think I’m doing pretty good even without the Saxenda. But, I’m back on it now. I said I’d give it a good long break and I did. I did gain weight back; went from 205 or so to 215. Maybe this round of meds, I’ll get under 200 and also, take that heavier weight with a grain of salt because I’m on my period and retaining water. I can easily gain 7-10 pounds of just water during that time; especially with the change in appetite and the swing of the salty/sweet cravings. I think I’ll get there. I’ve been consistent and eating well even without weight loss medication.

Now that June is over (a fucking crazy month) I’m hoping July will be better. I am in dire need of more funds and I’ve been writing more. I’ll be better about updating my Patreon and the blog. Expect a bunch of reviews and chapters moving forward.

Today’s Workout: Getting Frustrated

wp-1694656010578

I know I usually get frustrated when the scale doesn’t move for awhile then after I’m annoyed it starts moving again (in the right direction) but yeah, No change in my weight for a long time now. I hope that changes soon but in the mean time, it’s super frustrating.

I’m still not in the proper habit of getting up early enough. I really need to get that going. It would be so much better if I made a breakfast instead of wolfing down some bar during my commute. Especially now that my OT days have started and I have a day less a week to do meal prep. I’m definitely gonna need to prep lunches so I can have time to have a leisurely morning.
