The kids have found the ghost’s identity, Eve, who is in a coma at a hospital. But the spirit doesn’t want to return to her body. As the kids try to find out more, it’s clear Eve’s memories are not reliable.

All of this is getting more complicated and it doesn’t feel overly contrived; it’s just really sad. It’s all very different from Yazawa’s other works but it’s a beautiful love story. Things seem to be wrapped up for me but I see there’s three volumes. I wonder what will come next. 5 out of 5.

Keitaro, Yayoi, and Eiko are actively hunting spirits together but regular life must go on so Keitaro gets a job tutoring Ai, a young lady who is plagued by bad luck and spirits.

This volume has much less breaks for humor so, it’s pretty fucking creepy. Yayoi is less creepy cute and more genuinely terrifying, the spirits are getting stronger, and its fucking fantastic. I am psyched for the next book as this one was gripping and scary. 4.5 out of 5.

Yayoi wants to help Keitaro eliminate his curse, the curse he shares with Eiko. To do so, they must gather more spirits to increase their abilities but meanwhile, Keitaro and Eiko still try to maintain a normal life; starting by attending college orientation.

If you like Mieruko-chan, I think you’ll like this series as well. It has some humor to break up the scares and tension but not so much as to disrupt the scary tone. It leans much more towards horror plenty to amp up the tension. The spirits give me the shivers; the designs of them are fantastic and I can already see the plot with the big baddie perking up. Very awesome so far but – no spoilers – Eiko… Yikes, girl. Just yikes. 5 out of 5.

Keitaro avoids the supernatural due to his unusual magnetism when it comes to spirits. All he wants is a regular life but when he takes a tutoring job, he meets the young Yayoi, who is on a mission to capture ghosts and ghouls in order to find the one that took her mother’s spirit. His childhood friend and Yayoi’s cousin, Eiko, is all to eager to help out.

The art style does creepy and cute very well, especially the nightmare fuel of pulling demon hair out of your throat (seriously, that’s a recurring nightmare of mine). The premise and execution so far is perfect. Keitaro has an interesting backstory to explore and Yayoi is very entertaining and scary to watch. Strong start to the series. 4.9 out of 5.

Ami and her friends have their own band called ‘Home Sick Pilots’ and in 1994 California, have dreams of getting out of their town to make it big. One night while hanging out, Ami gets the idea to play a gig at the local haunted house and they go to check it out only for Ami to disappear.

This has some cool concepts with the haunted house and the ghosts and how it all functions but it all feels disjointed and crazy. I don’t know if that was deliberate but, I found myself saying “Wait, what?” often. I like the art and the story is cool overall but it’s lacking something to really hook me. Not a bad read though. 3.2 out of 5.

See? Bookstores are dangerous for me…

Yeeaahhh… I was left unattended in Barnes and Noble with a credit card… This is the result. Actually, this and a couple things for my kiddo for Easter/Ostara gifts, but still…  >_< *smoke wafts off debit card*

I regret nothing. “Ghost” was I comic I read in high school and while it may seem silly to others, she was a huge role-model for me.  Rediscovering her at this time in my life has to be fate. 🙂 As for the special edition “Death?” It’s Neil Gaiman. I’d read the phone book if he wrote it. :p

The Tarot and Trace books just looked cool. I’ve always wanted to expand what I can do with my tarot cards and any sort of spiritual advancement I’ll take. :p

This is about IT for me in regards to book shopping. I did a big shop last week when I took the demon seed to get pictures with the Easter Bunny and still haven’t finished all THOSE comics. Looks like reading isn’t my anti-drug, it IS my drug. XD
