Oh, yeah, I am stash busting like a mofo…

When I said I was stash busting, I absolutely meant it. I am kinda tired of so much yarn around and I am more than happy to share it with others! Check out this item and others in my shop!

While my hands could take it, I have been really pushing it to fill my little shop as much as I can!

This scarf is 34.5 long and an acrylic wool blend so if you can’t deal with wool, stay away from this one. There are plenty others in my shop without wool for you to buy!

Yes, yes, I know. I don’t update my shop often but I have been working on it!

This (sort of) self-striping yarn is 23 inches long and acrylic yarn. It will be up at my shop within the next couple days if you are interested in purchasing it or any other of my handmade items! 😀

Since my kid decided to leave her gloves somewhere right when it began to snow, I whipped these up for her in about a day. It’s the most basic of basics, I cast on 30 or so stitches and knit a rectangle, then whip stitched the sides with a thumb hole. It used almost the entire skein of Whatever Yarn This Was Because The Label Went Bye-bye.
My hands only hurt a little after making these and that may have had something to do with having to stop and go shovel. Since it was stupid easy to make these, I may start stocking my shop over at That Sinking Ship with these in various colors and sizes.
Did she like them? Yeah, I hadda practically steal them to wash them.
Since I haven’t made that much of a dent in my stash, I invested in one of these Wirk Desk Bikes:

This way if I sit and knit or crochet all day, I can still burn calories. So far, I’ve lost 8 pounds this year and I intend to keep it up!

Happy New Year!! And with the decorations down and house clean; it’s time to start thinking about what I’d like to accomplish this year:
I think 5 is more than enough for one year considering all the stuff I’d like to accomplish. And I think they’re pretty reasonable.
What things do you think I should try? And what are you planning to make of this year?

Tell us about your writing space. Where do you write your blog posts?
I’ve been known to write pretty much anywhere. I’ve even been trapped at a train crossing and jotted down a quick line or two but the most likely place is my home office. I adore it. When we redid the house, I picked a bright inspiring red for the paint. I have writing and drawing books all over the shelves. Comics, too. There’s a box for my current knitting/crocheting (a writer’s block tool for me) and of course excellent speakers for music. 🙂
Every once in awhile, I post from work when I have a free moment. Which is unlikely since I work with the public but it’s been known to happen. XD
It’s finally done! 😀 I made this scarf for my little demon seed. I started it when she was just a little mush ball. For some perspective, she’s 6 now.
See why I’m making an effort to clear my yarn debts?
Next up is a baby blanket for my cousin’s baby girl. Hopefully, that will be finished before she’s a teenager. :p

I gotta admit, guys; I haven’t been writing much. Not for lack of inspiration but with my new temporary schedule, I’ve been spending more time reading books to review and playing with the kiddo. 🙂 I’ve been teaching her to knit and we are currently reading Alice in Wonderland. 🙂
Don’t worry, book  2 in the First Brood series will be out before fall. I haven’t forgotten about it.

A bunch of entries ago I spoke about clearing my yarn debts; knit or crochet stuff I said I’d make for people but then life happened and they never got done. This is one of the oldest ones; a scarf for my demon seed. 🙂
This is made with tiny, fuzzy, lace yarn that I got in a clearance bin years ago. It’s softer than it looks and a bitch and a half to work with.
Now, the needlework page on my site is under construction (I’m making new stuff) but expect it back soon. 🙂 I like making yarn stuffs and I can’t possibly use it all myself so you guys will be able to buy some. Isn’t that great?

A funny thing happens to people when they find out you can do a thing. All of a sudden, everybody wants you to do it for them. And since I’m a people pleaser (me and my shrink are working on that) I keep agreeing to make things for people. This has resulted in what I have called “Yarn Debts.”  I can only crochet or knit at a certain speed but I would still like to get things done so I could finally let go of my guilt.
Here are the projects I’m trying to finish:
A baby blanket for my cousin’s daughter.
 A scarf for Misfitlibrarian.
This is the progress I’ve made so far and I’ve been working diligently on these before I start anything new. Much like writing more than one story at a time, I am trying to finish what’s started before starting anything else. :p
Till my tendinitis flares up. Then you all get to frigging wait because that shit hurts. >_<
