The group heads to Hokkaido but they run out of gas and decide to race (on foot) to the nearest gas station. They get chased by a horde to a hotel that’s staffed by robots and too good to be true.

I like how they’re stumbling through things off their list and having these misadventures. Zombie stories can get so angsty and sad so it’s nice to enjoy these characters as they try to survive and thrive through an apocalypse. This volume feels a little too light, like our characters aren’t in real peril but I’m okay with that. I’m still having fun reading it. 3.9 out of 5.

Akira is still working on his bucket list and in his travels to his parent’s home to check on them and meet some interesting characters on the way.

Ok, Beatrix is amazing and I wanna be her best friend. She’s a great addition to a cast that is a mix of action, humor, and drama. This volume has a great balance of those three and has some plot bunnies I hope are fully realized in later volumes. There wasn’t much here that dragged and I can see Beatrix getting on some people’s nerves but for now, I think she’s great! 3.7 out of 5.

Akira and Kencho are now working on the bucket list together and in their quest for a new TV stumble upon a group of survivors.

I still love Akira’s positive energy in what is a dire situation (that usually goes the way most zombie stories go). I do hope Shizuka Mikazuki (who makes an appearance) joins our main pair permanently. The way they all interact would make for some great story telling. 4 out of 5.

Akira Tendo has a crappy job, a crappy apartment, no time for friends or a girlfriend and hates waking up every morning. Until one day he looks out his window and hordes of zombies are everywhere… And breathes a sigh of relief that he doesn’t have to go to work. The zombie apocalypse gives Akira a chance to life again and he makes a list of 100 things he wants to do before he becomes a zombie.

In a genre so saturated it’s collapsing in on itself with sheer redundancy, this is an original and hilarious idea. Akira is funny and dynamic, making a story about the end of humanity by flesh eating monsters enjoyable and light hearted. I can’t wait to see how this goes! 5 out of 5.
