In 1909, Vega is a woman with special abilities forced to perform in a carnival for money. In the present, Mina has similar abilities and it held prisoner so her blood can be extracted to help heal others. Also in the present, Daniel inherits his grandfather’s secret organization with connections to both women.
This is an interesting start. The connection between the two women isn’t fully fleshed out in this likely first outing in what seems like would be a long story but it is mildly intriguing. The characters themselves are a little blah but a lot is going on. I hope they get more growth as the story goes on. 3 out of 5.
