NEST is crippled, their supply of Cinderella is gone, but with some intel from Junhyeong, Suchan and the other students plot to take the fight to Breeder’s location.

While another action-packed volume, this one does take the time to slow down for a moment to take in the big changes that happen as a result of them going up against Breeder. No spoilers, but Suchan is altered by the end of it, and it’s something that I can see either being a huge threat later or a chance to see him cleverly turn things to his advantage. He seems to be the type of protagonist to do the latter. I’d rather see that than the ole ‘power of friendship’ angle. The threat is ramping up, and I am really intrigued to see where this goes. 4 out of 5.

The Pet Shop attacks Nest, spreading their forces to distract the students long enough to target Professor J.

These kids are powerful, and the action is top-notch, but this was a brutal volume. Each time it looks like one side has the advantage, something turns the tide. It bordered on tedious, I just wanted some kind of resolution at some points but in the end it was worth it. It barely slows down before we’re launching into the next plot point. I was turning the pages so fast and I’m so glad I had the next volume ready next to me because I wasn’t ready to stop. 4 out of 5.

Wei Yanzi and Gu Yiliang are both young up-and-coming actors currently working on the same show but Wei Yanzi feels as if he’s overshadowed by Gu Yiliang’s natural talent and good looks. Since he’s getting some hate from Gu Yiliang’s fans, Wei Yanzi leans into those online shipping him and his costar so he sees more positive things about himself.

This is so goofy. Wei Yanzi doesn’t realize how flirty he sounds when he talks to Gu Yiliang and it’s funny to see him encouraging fanfiction of himself and his costar. I say costar because (spoiler?) they’re not really rivals; they get along pretty well the entire time. Gu Yiliang is clearly developing some feels while Wei Yanzi is clueless. It feels a little scattered but it’s still cute. And a clean read so far at a 13+ rating.3.7 out of 5.

“Scarlet” is dead and the devil is delighted to have such a wretched soul finally in his grasp. He offers her a deal: become a reaper and supply one soul to hell a day or suffer in the void for all eternity. Given the choice, Scarlet becomes a reaper and despite not retaining all the memories of her former life, it still comes back to cause trouble.

I like this premise; reapers being recruited, some shady organization, corruption in the local police force, goofy cop with an adorable cat; I’m diggin it. The creature design is great and the art style handles Scarlet’s transformations as well as cutesy stuff well. There’s a nice touch of horror and some humor to balance the volume out. 4 out of 5.

Suchan is now attending school at NEST after being mutated by the insecticide called Jungle Juice. His class is given the task of finding any remaining cans of it and in the process they come in conflict with a dangerous group looking to expand their membership willingly or not.

The character named “Breeder” exposed that I read too much trash because it took a minute for me to realize that it’s not a smut thing and it’s like a dog breeder. My brain is clearly ruined. On to the topic at hand, the way these characters use their abilities is really cool and the fight scenes are well choreographed and exciting. I like the conflicting group’s goals (very X-Men like) and I’m very curious to see what turns this will take and what will happen when whoever or whatever is behind Jungle Juice is revealed. 3.7 out of 5.

After Yu lands a shocking punch on Jean Pierre, their match continues. Meanwhile, Injae is now also training to be a boxer and is getting ready for his first match.

While Yu’s fight, the volume spends a lot of time with Injae, who’s story arc is more like a traditional sports comic (although the mini treatise on who’s the main character wasn’t needed for me is they wanted to switch perspectives unless this is heading to a place where this would need to be discussed) where you see his training intercut with his backstory. It’s done pretty well. I’m not that big on sports media like this but I was interested in the fight. 4 out of 5.

Suchan Jang is the most popular guy in his college and has everything going for him. But he is hiding a secret that he is hiding dragonfly wings in his back. When an attack forces him to reveal his secret he loses it all and is invited to a special school for other students who also have various bug mutations.

If you don’t like bugs, this is not the comic for you. But if you can get beyond that, this is a cool premise and there are plenty of plot lines to explore with the science behind these bug/human hybrids and of course the secrets the school is hiding. I’m enjoying the action and the character design. The fights are creative and there’s plenty of mysteries and cool bug facts to explore in addition to Suchan’s desire for a cure. Also, fuck that girl he was crushing on. She’s a bitch. 4 out of 5.
