I know it’s been awhile since I posted about Birchbox and that I’ve also been a subscriber to this box for a long time. I have learned a great deal about make up and how to use it. But there is no way I am putting liquid liner on my face. That is best left for more experienced women than I.
As for the rest of it, I am always in the market for repair hair products of any kind as I have been regularly coloring my hair and flat ironing it. You’d think thick hair like mine would be able to put up with the abuse but nope. I end up with horrible split ends.
The nail color and the serum are a nice addition. I love getting nail colors in these and since I’ve decided to take this year by storm; I am all in favor of a fierce red in my first box!
But that liquid liner is gonna get gifted to someone before I hurt myself with it.
I think Birchbox knows me too well, sending me things for my hair and nails, which are things I know how to use off the bat. With the weather being what it is and me spending time outdoors and in the water so much, my hair has needed some extra love. The hair mask was timely. ^_^
I do miss getting little chocolates and such. Maybe next month. (hint hint)
Again Birchbox offers food! 😀 Yet, I am meh about this one. I dunno, I feel like I shouldn’t get healthy things after getting chocolate last time. ;D
This month’s box has nail polish, an eye pencil, color safe shampoo, and lip/cheek color. I got silver eye pencil which I have no clue how to use. I use black or brown when I use eye makeup at all. I am also probably the only woman who doesn’t use color safe hair stuff. As for the nail and lip stuff? Sure. I could always use more. I like painting my nails when it’s warm out. 🙂
This box felt like I got less than usual but I’m happy with it. I hope I get more stuff in next month’s box. 🙂
Alas this is my last Ipsy bag for awhile. I’ve been cutting back on a lot so I can get rid of some debts. I wanna pay off my car. 🙂
But I am liking this bag! I enjoy the nail and lip colors. I need to try and get to using these things on a daily basis so I can form a better opinion of this stuff and use it up. I have so much of this stuff, I don’t remember where I got most of it!
And really, how much of this makeup do I really need to hide in the house and type when it snows?
I did enjoy ipsy while I had it and when my finances are in better order, I may pick it back up again!
I am a fan of ANY box that comes with snacks. It’s chuao chocolate that pops in your mouth like Pop Rocks. It’s a little unnerving to have chocolate do that but it still tastes soooo good. The rest includes a body cream, mascara, nail polish and face cream.
The Color Club polish is a nice party gold which will come in handy this holiday season. 🙂 I hadda toss a bunch of old tubes of mascara so that will come in handy but I am currently suffering a glut of face cream and lotion so those will have to wait a bit. Hopefully I’ll get to them before they expire. :p
There was an offer from Swagbucks for a Julep trial and having seen it all over in my travels across the interwebz, I thought Why the heck not?
I’m not sure if I’ll keep this subscription box because I have two already and more nail polish I can handle sitting there with too little time to play with them like I want to. But the initial colors are worth checking out as soon as my nails stop splitting and being pissed off at me for not moisturizing properly when it got cold. The bag I’ll give to my kid to play with because there just comes a point where these things start to take over your house.
Maybe I’ll get one more before I decide whether to keep it or not. Seems pretty interesting so far.
This month’s Ipsy included eyeshadow from Wet n’ Wild which is a really good brand for the prices AND I know how to us this stuff. 😀 The brush I didn’t need because I went for broke and bought a brush set from elf so it can be a backup. The wipes will come in handy in my desk at work (because I have 50 different face washes in the house because of the number of free samples I’ve gotten) and nail polish is basically the one place I feel comfortable enough to experiment and play with because I know how to use it. XD
As for the hair spray, I’m gonna give it away. My hair comes with it’s own volume and the LAST thing I need is a product that makes my hair BIGGER. My mixed-race background has “blessed” me with poofy, kinky, curly hair. I need moisturizing and smoothing, not volumizing. But I’m sure I know someone who can use it. There needs to be a place to swap bag contents… XD I would sign up so fast. In the meantime, I just pass them along to my friends. 😉
This is my first bag from Ipsy and I heard it’s as good or better than Birchbox. That’s gonna take some time to see cause I’ve gotten some pretty swanky things from Birchbox.
My first impression is that I like it. I love nail polish (it’s the easiest and fastest beauty thing I can do) and lip gloss. I am also ALWAYS open to new hair treatments for my dry as hell hair.
The concealer however, I am absolutely gonna give away. I am one of those women other woman hate because I almost never get a pimple and to be perfetly honest, I don’t give a rats ass if my eyes have shadows under them. I’m a working mother of a 5 year old trying to sell books and crafts on the site. Shit yeah, I’m tired and I’m proud of it. XD
I’ve used Zoya polish before so I know this will be a great summer color for my fingers and toes. The perfume I have to be careful with because I work with people with scent sensitivities. When I start dating again (or whenever I feel like it) I’ll wear it then. For now, I like the soft, fruity scent of it.
As for the inevitable collection of bags I will have? Maybe I’ll give them away on the blog or my site. I certainly won’t need all of them.
Yeah, I know I’ve been doing a lot of Cravebox updates lately but I keep winning them and this one is very cool.
There’s instant coffee, nail polish, lip balm, hand lotion, fruit water, and refreshing health pads. Right off the bat, this is the BEST box so far because of the $50 towards a purchase at Naked Wines. Discounted booze? You had me at hello. 😉
The first and easiest to try is the water. From the first sip, I could taste the fake sugar and I didn’t like it. Then again, I’m a snob and like green tea extract in my water and sugar free teas. I couldn’t even get through the whole bottle and ended up tossing it.
I have had good experiences with most instant coffees. They are a great option for when you need an emergency pick-me-up and have nothing but hot water to make coffee (which happens to me at work all the time). Mixes like this tend to be presweetend and have milk already in them so if you’re out of sugar or milk, you can still get some caffeine in you and not scream at people. 🙂
Since the weather is getting warmer, I have an excuse to do my nails so expect to see pics of my hands and feet. :p
Also? I am SO probably going to drink all that wine myself. What can I say? My muse must be Bacchus. XD
I kinda figured this box would include some sort of diet book. Man, have I read a LOT of those and I’ve honestly found the best diet to be “don’t eat junk and move around more” so I probably won’t be using that. Other than the book, the rest seems pretty cool! Especially the Sally Hansen nail stickers. I am such a sucker for those. I love using those for accent nails.
The one thing I’m hesitant to try is GymPact. It SEEMS like a good idea but I don’t workout in a gym. I workout at home. I don’t think “Home Gym” or “Zumba for the Wii” is a valid check in point for that app. XD
If I finally use any of this and remember, I’ll review the stuff. I’d rather not use the wax strips… 0.0 Owie…
