After guarding Aoi on a school trip, Yodaka joins an infiltration mission and faces the fugitive ninjas Ban and Kawasemi.

I’m glad this is mostly action. The teen drama stuff is fun, but lingering in the background is why Aoi would need such protection in the first place. And, like Marriage Toxin, this series doesn’t let you forget that these people are dangerous. It’s not all fun and games. The dichotomy keeps things interesting. 4 out of 5.

Yodoka is still guarding Aoi as they go through normal high school events like a sports festival and the school camping trip. All the while, battling those who seek to capture Aoi.

This really feels like a slice of life, YA, high school romance with ninjas clumsily grafted onto it. As a result, the original premise feels muddled. Right now, they’re just lobbing new enemies at us while sprinkling in high school drama. It’s not bad but not as amusing as I’d hoped. I hope it comes together in the next volume so it feels more like a cohesive story. 3 out of 5.

Yodaka is an operative for the Ninja Public Safety Force, and his next assignment is to be a bodyguard for a high school girl, Aoi. However, Yodaka does not like interacting with people, and Aoi has been targeted by the underworld.

While this comes off as a comedy, it does not skimp on the action. Yodaka can be goofy, and Aoi’s inability to win a fight with gravity made me laugh, but the ninjas in this comic mean business. It throws a good bit of lore for the world in this first volume, but this is a fun start to a series. 3.5 out of 5.
