Aoki and Ida are studying hard so they can get into the same college but Aoki is really struggling and graduation is just around the corner.

Yeeeaaahh, the super-deformed is back to it’s creepiness. I mean, look at this:

I could easily see this exact panel in a Junji Ito manga. It is NOT something I would want to look at for very long.

Aside for that, I have to complain about a little spoilery type deal. There is an amnesia plot here that seems to only exist to cram in some final drama before tossing it aside as a dream before getting to the real ending. I would have MUCH rather had more time exploring how the characters feel, seeing them interact, getting more hints at their future… It was so sweet and clean aside for that aside. That was disappointing but at least the actual end is good. 3.9 out of 5.

Ida is getting more interested in romance and Aoki is still having trouble even broaching the subject, worrying about his grades and finding the courage to take their relationship further.

Fuck it, Imma spoil it: They got their first kiss and it’s fucking adorable. I would like to see Aoki make more progress being physical with Ida (not in an explicit way and I would prefer if it didn’t) and act like a ‘proper’ couple. They clearly care a lot for each other and they deserve to be able to hold hands and such. This is still so sweet and I’m rooting for both of the couples in this series. 4 out of 5.

As high school nears its end, Aoki puts more effort into being involved and supportive of Ida, who wants to go away to college.

I like this volume but I am wondering if we will get more progression as these stories play out. The young relationships are moving forward but it’s a little slow to read. At least Aoki and Ida are fun to read. We get the classic ‘only one bed in the hotel room’ plotline. Akkun and Hashimoto are a nice counterpoint to the others. It’s all sweet and worth reading if you’re looking for some YA romance. 4 out of 5.

Aoki is working hard at his part time job in order to buy his boyfriend, Ida, a present. They are spending more time together but Aoki is curious about being more intimate as for as long as they’ve been dating, they’ve only held hands.

Even though the super-deformed drawings can still get creepy, the story and the characters are so charming and adorable that this is still a warm, comfortable read. Aoki and Ida are slowly growing in a natural way that is nice to experience as we go through this journey with them. 4.7 out of 5.

Aoki and Ida are starting to think about college but Aoki’s grades are not the best and he’s sent to cram school. A college student named Okano is tutoring Aoki and gets the wrong idea about Aoki’s relationship.

This couple has a cute relationship. Aoki and Ida are nice people and have decent people in their lives and it’s good to have queer characters surrounded by support. Even though there are misunderstandings, things are overall kind. Not every story with gay characters needs a ton of drama and homophobia. This is a great comfort read and good for teens so far. 4 out of 5.

Prepared for rejection, Aoki confesses to Ida but Ida accepts his feelings and they start dating. Aoki wants to keep it a secret but Ida doesn’t think they should and has no issues being honest with their friends and classmates. However, Ida isn’t very good at expressing how he feels to Aoki.

This is relentlessly cute. I’m enjoying watching the story just play out and it’s written well enough that I’m rooting for them. This is a fun little romance that’s clean, fun, and has low angst (so far). 4 out of 5.

While on a school trip to a ski resort, Ida finds out the back story of the eraser and the misunderstanding with the names. However, Aoki’s crush on Ida is very real and he gathers up the courage to confess to Ida properly this time.

I like how realistic things are here. People fumble about, misstep, and are awkward but trying their best. Nobody is catty or conniving (so far), they all just want to make a connection with the person they like. It’s meanders around a bit but it’s an enjoyable read. 4 out of 5.

Aki has a crush on his classmate, Hashimoto but when he borrows an eraser from her, he sees she has Ida’s name written on it; he promises to keep it a secret for her. But when Ida sees the eraser, he thinks it belongs to Aki and that he as a crush on him.

First things first, I gotta talk about the art. While the regular scenes are lovely; soft and expressive like most in this genre, there are scenes of super-deformed faces that are unintentionally TERRIFYING. Not all of them but there were a few that had me cringe rather than laugh.

Aside for that, this is a hilarious mix up. It doesn’t take itself too seriously at all and is a light-hearted teenage drama (at least light-hearted for now, you never know). It is looking like we won’t get so much as a love triangle but a love dodecahedron.

Yes, I’m a geek. I love that world…

4 out of 5.
