Today’s Workout: Taking advantage of laundry day

It’s probably not a good idea to admit how many workouts I’ve done that were spurred on by dirty clothes. Back when I only had one decent sports bra, I would literally put the damn thing on first thing on the morning to make sure I felt gross enough to do a workout to justify a shower because I let that filthy thing touch my skin. This isn’t the case these days but still, if I’m gonna have a morning to kill, I might as well mess up a sports bra with the promise that it would be clean by the end of the day. The method to my laundry madness is I do my bedding first since making the bed sucks. Hey, I’ll take any type of motivation. I’d used that back in lockdown; I’d put on my workout clothes first thing, then make sure I’d had a reason to put them on. Using my aversion to being filthy to workout is a little hack I’ve discovered. I dunno if I’d recommend it to anyone else.

I will freely admit that part of my motivation to run in the morning was that once I was done, I’d pop by my favorite bagel place for that and an iced coffee, only to find that they were closed. Look, my very Pagan Witch self forgets what non-Pagan holidays are happening sometimes, but I hid my very inconsequential problem by having a salad after my run. I did chores for the rest of the day and had the very lame victory of an empty hamper by bedtime. I had some steak and a potato laying around. I made myself some hand cut fries that were damn good! It’s pretty easy to have fries soaking and drying to fry properly when you’re doing a bunch of other cleaning around it. I even double fried them! Gosh, I’m so fancy. Or I’m seeing what cost-cutting measures I can take as the world burns down around me….

Today’s Workout: Back to it!

wp-1679958707608

I’m back to C25K and Zombies Run and it felt pretty good! I felt a little cramping but I think that’s from taking that week off to do the peddler. My form felt strong, my breathing was fine; all in all an excellent run. Good start to the week.

Lunch was the usual but I ended up using whatever was left of the beef because I could tell it wasn’t going to last another day in the fridge. As a result, I ended up just having a little snack for dinner because I just wasn’t hungry. Unfortunately, I completely forgot about the abs app but I’ll try to remember for the rest of the week.

Today’s Workout: Weight Checkin

wp-1667317581687

It’s been awhile since I posted my weight and I am now down to 204.2 with a total loss of 27.8 pounds. I am so, SO close to getting out of the 200 club! I also spent a little time going through some older clothes in my closet and I am very close to being able to wear them again. So, all this work is paying off! I know I’m not the most consistent with my workouts or completely virtuous with my food, but this is still working for me and I’m super excited to see how much more I lose in the coming months!

Today’s Workout: Release the drone!

I’m not shocked at all that drones are in the story now. In fact, I can think of a few situations where they could have used a drone to make things easier.

That aside, as you can tell I’m not going very fast on these runs. I’m more power walking than anything just until I’m used to running again. I could tell my knee not feeling up to snuff at the start but once I got going, I was fine. It was also one of those runs that I needed to talk myself into. I just keep telling myself that I’ll feel worse if I don’t do it than if I just suck it up and do it.

My diet has been pretty boring lately so, no pictures of food this time.

Start The Thing Already…

I’ve decided I’m going to be blogging about my runs more often. This is not just to pad out my blog with more posts;

But also to really hold myself accountable. I have been running for almost 2 years now and while I did lose weight, I hit a plateau that bugs the crap outta me.

Currently, I am 216 pounds at 5ft 7in. On average I run a 15-minute mile and can complete 5k in about 55 minutes. I feel dead afterward, but I can do it and in a sick way, I enjoy it.

My long-term goals are to be able to run a 10k and to lose 30 pounds so I can move faster and be stronger. I could give to shits about a dress size or looking sexy because I don’t get any complaints about such things.

At my last round of blood tests, I did get some worrying results for my cholesterol so my thing here is HEALTH overall. As a librarian and a writer, I spend a great deal of time sitting. Also, I’m not getting any younger; I’m 37.

Get ready for obnoxious posts about workouts and food. I’m sure you’re all super excited.
