Today’s Workout: Distracted Desk Bike

I was able to squeeze in the bike at work today only because the wifi went down and I couldn’t do half of the stuff I’d planned to do at work. Plus, I was groggy from a lack of sleep that even coffee couldn’t fix. And it’s not like I didn’t go to bed, I had plenty of time to sleep but sleep wouldn’t come or be effective at it’s job. So, sleep is a slacker who’s screwing me over this week.

I’d say it absolutely affected my performance and probably will for the rest of the week since my uterus hates me. The upside of this is I’m barely eating. A regular salad is just too much for my PMS stomach to handle. I’m not starving myself or anything, I just don’t feel hungry. And it’s not even the Saxenda; just normal time of the month things.

I’m holding off on weighing myself until this is over and I’m hoping for good news.

Today’s Workout: Filling in the Blanks

There are so many reviews I have to type up and books I need to read that I sat back and worked on both while I was pedaling today. And this time, I felt my heart rate go up and I was breathing faster so nothing like my previous workouts for this week. I was WORKING. My muscles are burning!

I went extra hard since I had noodles with my lunch today and that’s a lot of extra calories (and salt). I know it’s not the healthiest way to see things; balancing out a non-healthy food with a workout but in terms of sheer calories in versus calories out, this is better.

Later I’ll still be doing my squats and maybe some weights. Absolutely going to have a light dinner after work since I had the ramen. With the Saxenda, there just isn’t room for much after such a big lunch. And I plan to treat myself to an end of the week beer because something about the last 5 days has been exhausting and I deserve a treat.

Today’s Workout: Triple Threat

In addition to using the under desk peddler, I had to walk up to the store to get hot sauce (my kid is obsessed) and some sesame oil (that’s getting expensive so not buying that for awhile…), I picked up the kettle bell after a super light dinner. My only cheat was a small portion of Tipsy Scoop for dessert. Raspberry Limoncello Sorbet, if you’re curious. Very nice as a cap to the evening.

I am really feeling these arm workouts. I think I’m back in the head space where the soreness is letting me know I’m doing a good thing for my body. The sad part is I’d skipped weight training for so long, I have a moment where I think “Wait, why am I sore again?” before my stupid brain makes the logistical leap.

All I need to do is my 50 squats and stretch before bed and the day is done! I have the feeling with more days like this I’ll get back on track.

Today’s Workout: Cardio and Review/Writing Updates

I have a bunch of graphic novels I need to get though to review so, while I was reading I used my under peddler. I’m still behind on reviews but I’ve been prioritizing my writing. But more reviews will be coming!

The third part to Dahlia is being worked on but I keep splitting it with the other WIPs I have. Maybe this weekend, I can knuckle down and finish it but I’m still not sure what I want to do with the ultimate conclusion. I want it to be a happy ending but it needs to be a happy ending that makes sense. I don’t want it to end up feeling forced or trite just because I want my characters to be happy. That’s what’s kicking around in my head, anyway so I have no timetable for a conclusion at this point.

Today’s Workout: Cardio Day 1 and Sunday Dinner

I did some biking while I went through the books on my desk. I have these random piles of things and it was about time I made sure I even need them there. Most of them are withdrawn books I want to read before either selling or disposing of them.

Meanwhile, I had a TON of leftover rice floating around so I used it to make some beef fried rice.

Yeah, it looks messy but I’m not out here trying to be a food blogger. I’m just trying to get my money’s worth out of my food and getting creative with eating more vegetables. Also, I used a small bowl and it was more than enough to fill me up. My only issue was with adding the scrambled egg. Instead of adding chunks of egg, it just got absorbed by everything else and created an interesting creamy sensation. And I made sure everything was cooked through so there’s no salmonella in my future. I had fun making it and it was satisfying. I’d totally make this a regular meal.

Today’s Workout: More Multitasking

Since I’m worried about writing more books but don’t want to miss out on my cardio, I’m back to the desk bike while I work. The good news is I finished one short story and started another one right after. My goal is to have a back log of completed work and then schedule regular release dates. But, we’ll see how it goes.

As for my weight, there hasn’t been much of a change other than the standard 1-2 pound fluctuations. I’ll give an update when there’s a substantial change.

Today’s Workout: Last Day of Cardio

I had a database training today so, again, rather than just sit there, I brought out the under desk bike for half of it.

If my boss reads this, yes, I was still paying attention. I don’t subscribe to most of these things. But we should. They’re cool.

Anyway, I did my best to get my heartrate up as much as possible and, unlike my desk bike at home, my thighs didn’t feel like they’re going to fall out from under me. This is my last cardio for the week. I’m taking tomorrow off to do some much needed cleaning around the house and organizing more in my office so I can work in there efficiently. I’ve been doing a great job of decluttering (I may start selling some collectables and such in my shop, we’ll see) but I’m behind on general cleaning. I work full time then immediately start writing when I get home. Other than a quick mop up, I haven’t had time. I’m betting I’ll burn plenty of calories doing that.

Today’s Workout: Feeling Better

I had to moderate the meditation over Zoom at work today and the way I clear my head is to workout. Since my knee was all messed up earlier this week, I figured the under desk peddler that I keep at work would be a nice, low stress, low impact way to see how my knee is fairing. I am happy to report that I got through the 30 minutes without so much as an ache! I’m going to wait till Monday to make sure I’m ready for the treadmill but I wanted some easy calories burned.

Today’s Workout and NaNoWriMo Update (because it’s late, I’m tired, and not making two posts)

Today, I had to moderate a program that didn’t take me away from my desk so rather than just sit there, I dusted off the ole under desk Wirk bike. I may not be fast but I’m diligent.

And it’s also day two of NaNoWriMo:

I made it! But I will say, I am not a fan of the NaNoWriMo website words per minute counter. Because with how nuts my day can be, yes I can actually write 3 words a minute because I get interrupted. I don’t have the luxury of stretches of time to do nothing but type. I shouldn’t feel judged, but I totally feel judged.

Either way, I feel pretty damn accomplished today. And just in time for my PMS to aggrivate my existing depression and anxiety to tell me hourly how much of a worthless shit I am. I can tell those properly medicated (time to make an appoinement with my therapist) conditions that at least I accomplished my goals for the day! Woohoo!

No, seriously, I feel pretty damn good about this. Bring on tomorrow!

Today’s Workout: Back at it!

Now that NYCC is over and I have two complete stories that just need a tiny bit more editing; I’m easing back into workouts. My weight is pretty much the same so there’s little to report here other than I’ll get back to running once these drafts are done.

I don’t know how my running will go around NaNoWriMo, as I’m prepping for that now. Yes, I’m actually trying it out this year. I have an interesting idea and I’m going to have a detailed outline before the end of this month. But for now, more workouts! I put my little Chromebook up on my desk bike and worked while I pedaled. My wireless mouse died and made this an interesting adventure but I was still able to get my heartrate up and also get work done. Totally worth the time.
