I like this box but I noticed something: I haven’t gotten a food item in awhile. I kinda miss those…

Anyway, I can use everything in this box, which is nice. Recently I’ve been sharing the lotions and scrubs with my kid since I’m trying to teach her how to take care of her skin early to (hopefully) avoid acne in the future. I take for granted cleansing habits because, for me, they’re already habits. Getting a kid to start them is kinda a pain in the ass. Having all these random products to try that look like Mommy’s helps.

I keep the makeup away from her, though.

May 2016 Birchbox

Since the samples were small enough, I was able to get the card in the shot this time! Yay!

The perfume is ok. I’ve never really been big on perfume anyway but it’s nice enough. Nothing particularly impressive.The rest of this stuff I can easily use. Any hair moisturizer will help me since I keep coloring my hair and with summer coming, the sunscreen oil will come in handy. I keep the little containers like this in my bag; just in case. I was a little surprised to see this box had so few things in it. I’m used to getting more stuff.

Since I’m working out more (more on that another time) I am excited to try out the dry conditioner. The dry shampoo has worked wonders for me; since I’ve been flat ironing my hair and don’t want to wash my hair every day. It turns into straw if I do that. So obviously, the conditioning masks are gonna come in handy, too.

Sadly, I’ve been lazy about putting on make-up. I still ascribe to the adage “I’d rather have 10 minutes more sleep.” Who wouldn’t? But I’m getting there.

March 2016 Birchbox

Yet another instance of a subscription box helping me out, I’ve been needing a new set of brown neutral eye shadow. My old Sephora one has seen better days (I broke it…) so this is a perfect replacement. When I do get up early enough in the morning do put on makeup, I tend to stick with that color palate instead of something that if I screw up applying it, I will look like a clown…

As for the rest of it, I will take any anti-aging stuff I can find and I am curious to see if a blow out spray will work on my hair even though I use a flat iron instead. Heat protection is heat protection, right?

No really, I don’t know. This is why I stick with this subscription box. To learn this stuff.

I’ve gotten some of these things before so again, loving this shampoo, perfume, eyeliner, and hot mask. I deliberately got this box for the chance to get more of this shampoo. I color and flat iron my hair and it feels worlds better after using this.

Also, gotta be honest; I have not worn make up this summer. That eyeliner is gonna have to wait for cooler weather.

I did give away the perfume since I have a favorite scent I like to wear and the hot mask will be use the second I need a Lenni Pampering Day.

I am very pleased with the sunscreen since it’s all hot now and I’m doing my level best to wear as little clothing as possible. It’s not thick and gross on my skin and even though I could do without the smell, it’s not terrible. I’m more likely to pass it on to the kiddo who likes perfumey stuff like that.

The rest I have not tried yet but I like the idea behind the adventure box. It’s a cool theme! I hope they keep doing cool themes like that because just when I think of cancelling, they send something like this. 🙂

Blessed Beltane and Yes! I LIIIIVVVVEE!

Holy crap, I have been so busy I really did just hunker down and work. In addition to regular library work, I’ve been pretty darn popular over at Otakus and Geeks. I have so many books to review, I can barely keep up! On top of those, I actually filled my kindle! I didn’t know you could a do that but yes, I have found to many free books that interest me, there’s so little space left, the kindle glitches out and can barely run sometimes.

This… Has done little to keep me from buying more though. XD

I’ve been making it a point to clear off the shorter stories and novellas to make room. It’s not easy with all the books to review but hey, it’s not like I don’t enjoy reading!

I have also posted another VERY short story on Amazon. In fact, it’s so short, I posted it for free at first, but Amazon won’t let me price it any lower than $0.99. It’s a quick little lesbian erotica I wrote that did not get accepted to an anthology. I figure I have it, its there, why waste it? But keep in mind, it’s smutty and very short. A cute little slice of life thing for grownups only. I am impressed with how much it’s sold but hey, when the words “erotica,” “lesbian,” and “free” are all in the same product description, people click pretty fast. Ah, the almighty power of porn. And I am not above taking advantage of that to pay the bills, people.

The story I’m working on now is a short fantasy story with slightly less smut and a heterosexual couple. This one I fiddled with too long and missed the deadline for the anthology I was writing it for. :p It’s a sweet story but longer so when I post it, it will be slightly more expensive. But I look forward to finishing it and expanding my finished works. Once all my short stories are finished, I will get back to the First Brood series. I promise. It is just really bothering me to have so many unfinished projects just sitting there when they could be finished so quickly.

I will try and update the blog more often. LootCrate and Birchbox updates will resume this month, I’ve been tapped for a possible geek girl themed podcast, I’ll be going to Book Expo, and I’m already applying for my professional pass to NYCC. And yes, I have still been keeping up with my workouts for the cosplay plans I have. They are epic. 😀 I am slowly building up a new shop for my needlework (hopefully will open this summer).

Things are really coming together! I can hardly believe the good fortune I’ve had so far but hey, I’ve worked my ass off for this shit! Look forward to seeing more! 😀

I’m not to impressed with the perfume but I am VERY picky about what scents I put on. Chances are they will never send me a perfume I fall madly in love with again because of that. As for the rest, I’m pleased! Lip gloss is my go to lip product (over lipstick) and I am a stickler for having soft, moisturized hands. Blemishes aren’t really a big deal for me (knock on wood it stays that way) so I may give away the cleanser and mask. You never know who can use them. 🙂

First things first is I actually tried the eyeliner and it went on smooth and fast. Bonus points for them sending me a color I could use daily. I got some gold color once that made me look like I should be going to a carnival or something. I haven’t tried the tea or almonds in there (the tea is behind the almonds all wrapped up and safe so I don’t lose them) but the cup really is my favorite thing this month. it cost extra but it was worth it

I was looking forward to another hand cream sample. I love to toss these in my bag rather than purchase over priced tiny bottles.
