30 Day Challenge Day 13

IMG_20200513_120502_147.jpg

I’ll have to pick up properly with c210k next week (I feel kinda OCD about the weeks actually all being done in one week) because I was just off. I dunno what it is but I’m not sleeping all the way through the night, I’m generally in a cranky mood about the dumbest things but I didn’t want to skip workouts on account of being moody. So, I hopped on the treadmill for half an hour.

It’s funny how the 30-minute workouts feel so short after investing so much time in c210k. Initially when I look at the app and see how long the workout is there’s this initial resigned sigh but now I’m so used to it; short workouts feel unsatisfying. I never thought I’d see the day.

30 Day Challenge Day 11

IMG_20200511_121717_911.jpg

Today’s run was a failed attempt to do the next c210k run as well as the Spring 2020 race in the same run. The c210k runs are longer than the distance it took for me to complete the race and I didn’t wanna mess up my leader board time so I just ended it. I’ll have to make up the day another time.

But as for this run, I felt pretty good about it. I wonder what my time would have been if I didn’t take the breaks in the c210k app but I’m not disappointed. I’m shocked that after a 5k, I felt like the run was short. That’s a long way from me being afraid to start the later weeks of the program because the runs were so long. I just may be able to run a 10k after all!

30 Day Challenge Day 9

IMG_20200509_205434_531.jpg

With this session, I tried to knock out some miles in my Yes.Fit 2020 challenge with my desk bike and basically did as many miles as I could stand. I was aiming for 10 but around 6 (obviously) my legs were trembling from the hip down. I could barely stand and almost hit the floor trying to dismount the damn thing. I don’t know if this is a sign that I’m pushing myself too hard or that I’m not pushing myself hard enough.

Either way, DAMN my legs hurt!

Today’s Run: Almost there…

IMG_20190131_101754_639.jpg

Today turned out to be a kick ass day! The first interval I went at 3.2 mph, the second and 3.5 and the third at 3.2 again and my only extra break is when I slowed down to check and see if my app crashed because it repeated a scene twice and I was about to lose my shit because I lost an hour’s workout. I’m not counting that as a real break, though since it was only 10-15 seconds before I got back up to speed.

I am noticing a much faster recovery time after my workouts but I’m also noticing that now my body does not like to be still. As a librarian, my job is pretty sedentary and; as I’ve said before, now I get extra stiff if I don’t move around enough during the day. I have been incorporating more strength exercises during the week and I may have to stop using my desk bike as a clothes rack and actually get on it. I have this suspicion that spending my off days on the bike will help me as the runs get longer.

Week 11 is almost complete!

Writing Update: 500 Words a Day Challenge

You could have seen this post earlier on my Patreon.

Since I’m signed up for his newsletter, I went ahead and opted into Jeff Goins’ 500 Words Challenge. And so far, I’m doing pretty good! I think the only day I’ve missed was January first since I signed up for the challenge on the second.

I have been focusing on book 4 in the First Brood series since that’s the one I want to finish the most. Don’t worry. I’m still putting around with my other projects but First Brood 4 is what’s really been on my mind.

I know on the blog it says blogging counts but I haven’t been counting it because it’s the stories that will hopefully be providing me with the income I desperately need. Since I’ve built the momentum, I hope I can complete this challenge!

A New Challenge!

I was poking around the interwebz (as I am wont to do) and I found this:

2c86cddd3b7d896680c74accec19d2d1

And you know how Lenni finds it hard to turn down a challenge. I don’t expect to look like the lady in the picture (nor do I want to, honestly) but when I read this and my first thought was “Shit, I can’t even do one pushup” I didn’t like that I thought that way. I want to be able to lift my own body weight if I’m being chased by zombies or warewolves or fangirls or whatever.

Since there’s no time like the present, I’ll be starting this today. Game on, bitches! >D

Weight Loss Challenge Update

Starting Weight: 199

Current Weight: 190

I did it!! 😀 190 was my goal weight from the beginning and let me tell you, at 200 pounds, I thought it was impossible.

My goal now is just to maintain. My lowest weight was 179 and I looked a little gaunt. These days I’m thinking it’ll be good for me to maintain the pounds I lost rather than go for broke and try for another 20 pounds.

I guess it’s time to try on that dress again. 😉

This Year’s Challenge

On this lovely snowday, I unveil my challenge for 2014. It’s an old one and I’ve done it before but for the volume of writing I hope to accomplish this year; a daily goal is a must.

1000 words a day equals out to roughly 5 written pages; depending on how messy my handwriting is that day. It’s a pain considering I am probably one of the few writers on the planet who still writes on paper before typing but I can try to meet and exceed this goal regardless. 🙂
