High school students Nanoha and Chidori are dating but they keep their relationship secret; only known to their classmates as best friends.

This is very slice of life, especially when compared to the same setting for yaoi manga. It’s just so cute and sweet. Not a bit of smut to be found. It gets repetitive because each little story starts out with “we’re dating and keeping it a secret” and there are no obvious stakes to them keeping their relationship a secret. It doesn’t seem like their friends are homophobic or anything. Everything is very lighthearted and calm; a lot of blushing and meaningful glances. It’s decent but maybe a little more depth to it would make me like it more. 3.5 out of 5.

Lenni Reviews: “She Loves to Cook and She Loves to Eat” Vol. 1, by Sakaomi Yuzaki

Nomoto lives to cook but since she lives alone and no friends live nearby, much of her food is left over. A chance meeting with her neighbor, Kasuga, gives Nomoto the opportunity to finally share her love or cooking with someone who can eat her huge portions.

This is a very relaxing read. Its sweet to see Nomoto and Kasuga grow closer. The pairing is a classic bubbly energetic vs calm and deadpan. Kasuga isn’t cold or detached, she’s just really chill. I do want to know her backstory but I’m sure we’ll get to it in future volumes. If you’re looking for a clean (so far) lesbian love story, this is a nice one. I do wish there were recipes, though. I wanna try all this food. 4 out of 5.

Lenni Reviews: “The Girl That Can’t Get a Girlfriend” by Mieri Hiranishi

Meiri is an awkward college student with bad luck in love and desperately wants a girlfriend. When her search leads her to Ash, Meiri believe she’s finally found her dream girl only for it not to turn out like she hoped.

This is Meiri’s journey through love, loss, and healing. Told with honestly and plenty of self deprecating humor, this is a story I’m sure people of any sexuality will empathize with. Mieri draws every character but herself in a normal style, while she is much more cartoonish and has bombastic, super-deformed expressions. I found this to be very touching and I really related to her feelings. 4 out of 5.

New Short Story Cover Reveal

Long ago in a submission call far away, I wrote a lesbian thriller story. A nice clean one, not like Sunburn (also at Amazon, B&N, and Kobo and SUPER 18+). While I did get accepted, I never did hear anything back about when the collection would come out and well, it’s been a very long time.

I rediscovered this story while going through some folders on my flash drive to clean some junk files out. When I saw this I felt it was just a shame that it was sitting there doing nothing so, it has a shiny new cover and some new edits.

Am I counting this towards my one story a month goal? Yes, yes I am. Because I did have to re-edit the whole thing and that pretty cover cost me some coin. I know I did say the goal was a finished story every month but not publishing every month but hey, I need the cash and people need more stories!
