Today’s Workout: I’m taking it

wp-17261085526953795096080866938825

Yeah, I know. I was gonna run every day, blah blah. I wasn’t feeling it today so there. That’s it. No excuses or anything, I just got home and I’d had enough. Sometimes, its just such a WEDNESDAY that the need to decompress takes priority so I took the evening off.

These bakerly Chocolate Croissants are only 180 calories a pop and they are SO good. I wanted to get the actual name of them in here. I think I’m gonna have to make sure they’re always around. It’s just enough that I’m not starving when lunch time rolls around. I had the steamed bok choy and chicken again for lunch and dinner was some leftover pasta that I forgot to take a picture of. I go back and forth in caring about my macros and it was a carb heavy day but do macros even matter? I hear some people don’t care and for others it’s their entire life. My biggest deal is total calories for the day and getting enough vitamins so my nails don’t start coming off again.

Today’s Workout: Watch Troubles

wp-17248129539233482435685681873782

I did workout Monday but sometimes, my watch just doesn’t wanna cooperate and it recorded the stationary bike as a run? I mean… Okay. I burned calories either way. My thigh muscles are burning and I don’t plan on giving them a break.

Since I’ve been doing batch cooking, I’ve been using the fancier Itaki to reheat the food. It ALMOST saved the salmon I overcooked. Steaming it to reheat it did bring back some moisture. That was Monday’s lunch and Tuesday was the usual beef and bok choy. It’d been awhile since I’d had a salad and it gave me the excuse to eat some avocado again (before my kid can eat it all) I don’t have any weight updates because I’m hip deep in PMS and I’m retaining a bunch of water. It’s not gonna be accurate. Tomorrow, I have my follow up appointment to talk about my blood test results and that should be interesting. I’ve clearly been working hard and I hope the doctor notices my progress.

Today’s Workout: I’m not touching it anymore

wp-17241676182306396349726429222566

So, I did my desk peddler and usually what I do is sync my watch to my phone, open Google Fit on my phone, then nab the above screenshot to upload to WordPress. Goggle Fit is still doing that thing where it will make my steps disappear which also makes the other apps I have succumb to vanishing steps, too. This sucks because, again, I have apps that give me points for steps that get me gift cards. I am broke and need that money. From now on, I’m not touching Google Fit until right before I go to sleep. It stresses me out to see those steps vanish.

My Butcher Box came and I loaded it up on beef tips this time. I’m back to my usual Itaki meals. Due to some really shitty sleep I’m still recovering from, I had tuna, cucumber, and onion with lemon juice and olive oil for dinner and, not lying, I was in my pjs in bed by 7pm. I need one night where I sleep though it and not wake up at some random point or a day where some miracle happens and I don’t have a list of things to do allowing me to sleep in as long as I want. Not gonna happen. In fact, once I start overtime next month, I’m gonna me even more tired.

Today’s Workout: Let’s Try a New Thing

wp-17236520920707007688841094020409

As I’m working my way through my ARCs and the books piled on my desk; I’m still using the desk peddler and let me tell you, I am feeling it in my legs. I switch my focus from my calves to my thighs and it makes a difference. I feel so sore walking around the rest of the day.

I decided to get some precut meat (yeah, all the computer use, needlework, and writing has made my hands and arms sore) and these were pork strips, which I can’t recall using before. They didn’t turn out too bad but I probably won’t use them again unless I have a craving specifically for pork. I just like beef or chicken better. I also tried to use less soy sauce in the marinade and nah, it needs the amount I usually use when the noodles and vegetables come in to play. It’s the lower sodium kind so adding water just makes everything taste bland to me.

Workout and Food Catch Up.

I’m still sticking with the desk peddler these days because I can do other things while doing it and I’m trying to get my thigh muscles to grow. I have lost a few more pounds (back down to 210) and that means lose skin in places. Since I am broke and will likely never get skin surgically removed, I’ll have to fill in the gaps with muscles.

That pasta sauce is made with diced up summer squash and zucchini because I get so damn many of them in my CSA box, it’s impossible for me to eat in my usual way, which is the other picture. That’s sliced and steamed with some asparagus risotto that I will not even pretend I made myself. It’s frozen from Trader Joe’s and reheated in my Itaki box. Steaming to reheat things is so much better than the microwave. I really like it and I’m tempted to get the Itaki pot to reheat things like the pasta. Also, I made a HUGE pot of that sauce and I’m so glad it turned out good. I froze the rest to use later but I’m gonna have to come up with another way to use these veggies up if I keep getting so many of them every week. There’s only so much pasta I can eat.

Yes, I already thought of making bread. And chips. I’ll have to see about that because I am trying not to use the oven during the summer.

Today’s Workout: It’s getting nicer!

wp-17126888584603371795413989174375

It was a gorgeous day out and I needed to pick up a couple things so, I had a nice walk on my lunch break that for some reason, Google Fit saw fit to eliminate all my steps from right after. Lovely. It’s so cool to have my accomplishments literally erased.

wp-17127686736887609189245061857679

This wasn’t my lunch today (I had some melon, I wasn’t that hungry) but Monday, I prepped raw salmon and set up my Itaki early to make sure everything cooked through. I think this worked out well, I personally liked baked salmon better than steamed and while most of my meals make the office smell amazing and people come in and complement me all the time, I think cooking salmon is too much. It’s healthy, it’s delicious, but nah. I’ll keep it to chicken and beef from now on. I can’t remember if I’d made pork before but, that’s something I’d like to try that would probably workout great in an electric lunch box. Plus, I prefer steaming things to using the microwave at work.

Today’s Workout: Well…

wp-17103523211348673609040871569920

I have not been okay and it’s about time I admitted that. I have been in a major depressive episode for weeks and on top of that I lost someone important to me so, I’m lucky to get through most days. However, not reaching my goals isn’t going to be anything that helps me feel better so, I’m trying to get back in my healthier habits. I did the desk peddler today while I watched a webinar about how to sell more of my books and getting my creative juices flowing again.

This was basically my only meal for the day, not because of depression but because I’m on the maximum dose of Saxenda and all this food at once actually made me feel sick. And I was annoyed with myself that forgot to add salsa to my little bootleg taco bowl here which is why there’s that empty portion. It’s probably not the healthiest thing but it’s been a long time since I’ve made this. I’ll have enough to enjoy leftovers for awhile, too.

I’m gonna try and make a real push to do better. Fingers crossed things make a turn for the better.

Today’s Workout: More stretching!

In addition to the desk peddler, I made sure to do my stretching to help with my soreness. I will be running more often so. I want to be prepared.

I didn’t have time to make breakfast again so, lunch was my first meal. I had steak with my usual Itaki lunch and used that same pack of steaks to make dinner with some broccoli and the last of the leftover rice. I’ve been feeling snacky late at night lately and I need to go back to my not eating after 8pm habit. It’s not good to eat so close to when you go to sleep.

Today’s Workout: Whoa, I actually did it

wp-17065466810246800421856201167428

I’m still doing the desk peddler during the week and despite the low heart points, I felt the work in my muscles. And again, it’s better than just sitting there.

I got up early enough to make a hot breakfast and I packed the leftovers from last night as my lunch for the day. For dinner, my friends took me out (yes, I actually went out of my home instead of going straight home to write or workout) to an Indian place for dinner, which I didn’t stop to photograph because I was just enjoying hanging out with them but I did take a picture of the can of soda that I tried because it gave me a chuckle. I very rarely have anything but water or seltzer to drink (that’s not alcohol) so, this was a treat for me. And this was a vegetarian Indian place so the curry and rice I had were healthy. I am now obsessed with the green dipping sauce they had and I am totally gonna try to make some for myself. It was delicious.

Today’s Workout: Using up more leftovers

wp-17055202593041494703801904825533

I ended up cutting a little short because life happens but I still feel like it was worth it. If my muscles feel sore, I count it as a win.

I had an apple for breakfast but there was no picture so, I guess the meal didn’t exist and the calories don’t count? Lunch was more reheated chicken and rice but I felt the need for something green to add to the meal so, I tossed in some snow peas and a couple cloves of garlic. For dinner, I finally finished off those leftover fries and to be honest, I felt a little sick after. I can’t take large amounts of food in general, much less fried food. But I bought the damn things and I wasn’t going to throw them out so, I just choked them down to get it over with.
