The Plan? One Step at a Time.

It’s funny because it’s true! Also, it’s not funny because it’s true. I tend to have so many different projects going at once, I seem to never make any progress at anything because my attention is divided too many ways

So, here’s what I’m gonna do.

Winter Boot will be the first thing I finish. I’m sure there was just a chorus of groans from people who wish to hang me up by my thumbs if I don’t get the next First Brood book out yesterday but I would like to continue my Fiction Fridays and I can’t do that till Winter Boot is done. After that, I have two short stories; “Fylgia” and “Old Soldier” that will need to be finished and posted for sale. Then I will move on to the editing for Greenhouse and the writing of my Go Away Girls steampunk lesbian novel. I can’t keep jumping from project to project (a lot of the time within the same DAY) and expect to get ANY work out for you guys to enjoy

Wish me luck because I am crap at focusing. It’s also why I have three knitting and crochet projects in the works as well…

But that’s for another entry. XD

In life news, I will be getting my car back in about 4 weeks and I’m back to working out with only the slightest twinge of soreness in my back. Between the treadmill and the elevator still broken at work, my le muscles re very confused. But I feel so much better now that I’m able to move around. I DESPISE being immobile. >_<

So, there you have it, folks! Lenni is healed up and has a plan to get as much writing into your greedy hands as possible! 😀 Are you excited? I sure am. 😉

I’m BACK! >D

After a semi-restful weekend (how restful is a birthday party for a 3 year old, really?) I have traced the headache problems to lack of sleep and lack of sleep to the snoring of my dear ole’ hubbz. Short of kicking him out to sleep on the couch, I’m not gonna sleep well with him in the bed till he sees a doctor or I smother him with a pillow. Whichever comes first.

In writing news, the two small stories I’m working on are moving along well, Dark Horse enjoyed my last review, and I’m excited to start my Short Story Project next month instead of doing NaNoWriMo. Edits for book two are proceeding slowly but steadily and I hope for the preview chapters to be going up on the site soon. As soon as I have them all perfect and pristine, they’ll start going up. 🙂 Are you excited? I sure am. I’ve been picking at book two for YEARS now!

That’s all I’ve got so far. Eventually I’ll catch up with the Pagan Blog thing but probably not this week with Comic Con right around the corner. I would like to get through the whole thing, ya know?

Monday Writing Update

Holy crap, Monday. Pull no punches, why don’t cha? *chugs coffee*

Anyways, after a stressful week, I am hoping to make up for my complete lack of motivation to write and fly through my word count goals for the week. Those goals include but are not limited to:

  • Finish Winter Boot
  • Start one anthology entry
  • Edit 10 pages of Greenhouse
  • Finish another review for Otakus and Geeks

I have been “subtly encouraged: to hurry and finish Greenhouse and honestly? I’m over due with that. I should have finished it months ago. You guys deserve to hear what happens next with Darjeeling and how Auris plans t0 exact his revenge. >} Dun, dun, DUUUUNNN!!!

No, haven’t had enough coffee yet. Somebody bean meh!

Quick Writing Update

If you follow me on Twitter, you are aware I’ve been fighting off some sort of contagion my child was kind enough to share with me. As a result, I haven’t done as much blogging or writing as I would have hoped so yeah, you all are stuck without a Fiction Friday entry again this week. This must be horrible news to all 15 of you who read this blog. XD
However, in the mental restructuring I so often do to keep my crazy ass out of the loony bin, I have been bitten by my muse and my hand just itches to write.

I have also been threatened with bodily harm if I don’t finish editing Greenhouse and start putting it up. I better get on that then, eh?

Serious case of the “Now What.”

Break out the party cannon, the rough draft of Greenhouse is done! >D Of course there is the nut busting, fun, necessary process of proofreading before I can call the project completed and start posting preview chapters on my site. But, in addition to fighting this evil sickness that’s been going around my home AND work, I have been plagued with a case of post-completion confusion I have dubbed The Now What’s.

I can’t be alone in that feeling; the elation of typing “The End” fades and despite the pile of other projects you (may) have to jump on, you sit there at your computer or with the notebook in your lap with a cartoonish question mark floating above your head. For a moment, you panic. You don’t have the next book ready to start in your brain meats yet, you know you have to edit but editing is NOT the same as the generous flow of new prose. Going through the editing process harms you further because you find all those typos that make you believe you weren’t typing so much as mashing your appendages against the keyboard. Also, I have to admit, I have places in the rough manuscript which look like this:

Genius words in a fabulous scene. More genius words. Yet even more.

**Add more detail here**

The brilliance continues.

Yes, the “completed” draft is riddled with “add more here” notations like you wouldn’t believe. But the story is there.

As to the Now What’s, how did I get over it, you ask? I didn’t write for a night. I completed the rough draft on Monday and that night I continued my goal to finish my 100 books in a year by parking it on some propped up pillows, reading this trashy romance novel (does WONDERS for clearing out the brain), and went to bed. Now, I’m rested and ready to go on the next thing!

Whatever that will be. XD

Updated Book Challenge Count

1. Lightning, by Jean Echenoz

2. The Demon Lover, by Juliet Dark

3. Netsuke, by Nikki Ducornet

4. Smut, by Alan Bennett

5. Never Cry Wolf, by Cynthia Eden

6. Feral, by Joley Skye

Yes, I am aware it seems I’m posting about nothing but this but in the background, I have completed the rough draft of the sequel to this book and I am flying through the typing process as quickly as possible. I am so psyched to get this edited and fleshed out so I can post it, you have NO IDEA! XD

Back to work for me!!

Back in the saddle…

I really did terrible things on Thanksgiving. Although I made healthy dishes, I still felt like I overdid it. To make up for it, I got on the Wii today and will really try to get on it for 30 minutes every day.

I have also been making my word goals! 😀 I am very excited about that last part because I am back to working on Greenhouse and progress there needed to be made. Badly. =_=

Since the night is young, and I am actually off on a Saturday where I don’t have a mountain of laundry climbing up the wall (how much clothing to these people need to wear!!??) I will stay up as late as these old bones will allow and type up the last two short stories I’ve finished. Tomorrow, I will work on that baby sweater that is straight up haunting my dreams at his point, and do more typing if time allows. 🙂

It feels good to be this busy but to actually cross things off the to do list. 😉

Happy November! And a new round of calls…

Yes, I’m still trying to make sure we get Ma’s business all closed up so I spent my morning nursing a chocolate hangover and calling about her missing pension payments.

Not to whine but those payments will be what helps pay the mortgage and I need them. I do not make enough money on my own to cover the payments and while Ma was alive, we were splitting them. It’s made the last few months tight but I’ve been managing. I take a lot of overtime and the few stories I’ve been selling have kept me just above freakout level.

But that won’t last forever. :/

I know a lot of people have it worse than me. I’m just complaining a little. :p

In writing news, it’s still short story central for me. But it has shaken something lose for Greenhouse so I’m sure I’ll be getting to that soon. 🙂

Wii fit 30 Day Challenge – Day One

I say 30 days but on days that I work till 9pm, I will obviously have no time to hop on the Wii but hey, I’ll give it my best shot.

I got the Wii board synched and tried this sucker out last night. Holy hell, I am sore. Not P90x sore (that is a WHOLE nother animal) but I can tell I got a workout. I didn’t set up the Mii before diving right in to the thing so my first day is not registered under my profile. But whatever. I still did 30 minutes yesterday. 🙂 My favorite activity so far is the hullahoop challenge. I feel like an ass but hey, it works.

I’m back with the workouts again because I noticed my weight creeping up back over 200 and the treadmill makes noises that I’m SURE aren’t safe. 0.0 I just don’t feel healthy and I aims ta fix that!

I’ll try to update everyday but likely, I’ll forget. XD

Today I’m working at the library but I’ve been writing. A lot. Since Dreamhunter has been out for almost a year, I’m thinking of starting to post preview chapters of the sequel soon. Thoughts? Demands? Shameless pleading? 😉
