Today’s Workout: It happened again

I got so little sleep last night. I was up tossing and turning with terrible gas pains because I restarted my Saxenda. If I go out with friends, I stop taking it so I don’t end up sprinting for a bathroom randomly; particularly if I’m spending the day in the city. The downside is when I restart, the side effects are worse than normal. As I’d gotten no decent rest, I didn’t trust myself on a treadmill and finally dusted off the ole kettlebell.

I’m not ashamed of the fact I snagged a doughnut at the morning meeting at work but since it’s April Fool’s day, the calories don’t count since I didn’t take a picture. Lunch was normal but I was not going to bother cooking when I got home and didn’t want too many calories. Popcorn was my solution; just a small bowl with Trader Joe’s Garlic Citrus Seasoning on it. It took way too many gas pills to get through the day but I’m still declaring it a success.

Today’s Workout: More Food Prep Experiments

I think I’m doing pretty well with the biking. 40 minutes is a reasonable length I can pull off during a webinar or something and luckily nobody minds if I do the peddler as long as I get my work done. In fact, most of the people I work with think it’s a fantastic idea. I still need to do more body weight work but, I’ll get there. It’s fine.

I finally fucking remembered to bring an orange for lunch! Geez, they’re right there in the damn kitchen in my face. You’d think it wouldn’t be that hard. But aside for that, I decided to give green beans a try in the Itaki and holy shit, it was amazing! The meat I used was a wagyu beef patty that I just broke up and let sit in the sauce till lunch time and I’ve also enjoyed putting some sliced up ginger in the meal. It gives a nice little punch that I like. For dinner, I was so damn tired that I just grabbed a portion of the pulled pork I’d made from the freezer and had that with some rice. Fast and simple was the name of the game by the end of the day.

Today’s Workout: Easing into it

wp-17363409027072662623244676772843

Ahhhhh yes, I’m back on my bullshit. My knee is feeling better and I’m itching to be active again. I’m starting off easy with my desk peddler because the last thing I need in my life right now is to injure myself… Again. I look forward to running but I don’t wanna end up taking myself out. I do plan on foot surgery this year so, I’d like to lose as much weight as possible to prepare for when I literally won’t be able to walk very well for a few weeks.

I’m back to my Itaki at work. I did get myself their ramen pot for Yule and I can’t wait to try it out. I’d love to do some soup and steamed vegetables in that one day but in the meantime. I’m sticking to what I know. I like to try out new devices at home before I bring them to work just in case it’s not suitable for whatever reason or another.

Today’s Workout: Feeling good!

I actually went out for Labor Day and spent a good amount of time walking around outside. I spend so much time cooped up writing or at work that it was nice to finally be out like a normal person. The peddler didn’t feel too difficult after walking so much the day before and I’ve been keeping my steps up. The weather is cooling off so, maybe I’ll get back to taking walks around the neighborhood again.

I used up the last of the pork strips and unless I get a specific deal or craving for it, I think I’ll be sticking to beef or chicken. And speaking of cravings, those salads hit different when you really want one. My farm collective box had some nice lettuce and tomatoes and it was super refreshing to eat. The combination pushed me over 1000 calories and left me feeling bloated by the end of the day but that’s the Saxenda. I feel I was active enough that I don’t need to feel guilty.

Today’s Workout: I’m not touching it anymore

wp-17241676182306396349726429222566

So, I did my desk peddler and usually what I do is sync my watch to my phone, open Google Fit on my phone, then nab the above screenshot to upload to WordPress. Goggle Fit is still doing that thing where it will make my steps disappear which also makes the other apps I have succumb to vanishing steps, too. This sucks because, again, I have apps that give me points for steps that get me gift cards. I am broke and need that money. From now on, I’m not touching Google Fit until right before I go to sleep. It stresses me out to see those steps vanish.

My Butcher Box came and I loaded it up on beef tips this time. I’m back to my usual Itaki meals. Due to some really shitty sleep I’m still recovering from, I had tuna, cucumber, and onion with lemon juice and olive oil for dinner and, not lying, I was in my pjs in bed by 7pm. I need one night where I sleep though it and not wake up at some random point or a day where some miracle happens and I don’t have a list of things to do allowing me to sleep in as long as I want. Not gonna happen. In fact, once I start overtime next month, I’m gonna me even more tired.

Today’s Workout: Too close?

wp-17237735567786034339742998731797

Still on the desk peddler kick but I’m fine with it. The weather is cooling off and I’ve been missing running so, I’m gonna try to find a way to fit that back into my schedule. Probably not running outside but absolutely on the treadmill.

Since I am still working on finishing the chicken thighs I made, I prepped on Itaki with that and the other with beef cubes and bok choy. Due to the way my schedule shook out today, I feel like I ate these meals WAY too close together. I had lunch around 1:30 and dinner at 5:30-ish and by the end of dinner, I felt like a rolly-polly overstuffed turkey. It was uncomfortable but honestly, it’s better than before the Saxenda where I’d come home from work on a late night and be starving. I kinda miss those late night visits to Taco Bell but, it’s better all around if I avoid that. And fast food makes me sick most of the time now…

Today’s Workout: Let’s Try a New Thing

wp-17236520920707007688841094020409

As I’m working my way through my ARCs and the books piled on my desk; I’m still using the desk peddler and let me tell you, I am feeling it in my legs. I switch my focus from my calves to my thighs and it makes a difference. I feel so sore walking around the rest of the day.

I decided to get some precut meat (yeah, all the computer use, needlework, and writing has made my hands and arms sore) and these were pork strips, which I can’t recall using before. They didn’t turn out too bad but I probably won’t use them again unless I have a craving specifically for pork. I just like beef or chicken better. I also tried to use less soy sauce in the marinade and nah, it needs the amount I usually use when the noodles and vegetables come in to play. It’s the lower sodium kind so adding water just makes everything taste bland to me.

Today’s Workout: Three Squares

wp-1692199701507

The desk peddler session was a little short today just because I didn’t quite have the time but I did my squats and crunches later on. I still need to get in more muscle work but I’m getting there.

I actually ate three meals today and I gotta say, I felt overfull. It all came to about 1,000 calories. That pasta dish took awhile to make but I was able to use some delicious heirloom tomatoes instead of canned diced tomatoes (which are fine, I just wanted to try the fresh ones) and I made a big enough portion for lunch tomorrow.

Since my weight isn’t really moving, I think I’m gonna switch to the desk bike; which has higher resistance than the desk peddler. I know I shouldn’t be focusing so much on cardio if I want to build muscle but with the higher resistance, I think I’ll get more thigh and calf definition. Once it gets cooler, I’ll get back to Zombie’s Run. I’ve been paying for it so, I might as well use it.

Today’s Workout: Yes, there’s two of them

I was all set on the desk peddler when the Saxenda kicked in and when that happens, you drop everything and go to the bathroom. Then I went back and did the full 40 minutes I’d intended to do in the first place.

For lunch I had steamed bok choy and snow peas with beef and ramen noodles. Around dinner, I wasn’t really that hungry so I had a small salad. I finally remembered to do my 50 squats and crunches and got my steps in. A couple days ago, I weighed myself and I’m down to 202.8! I’ve lost 29.2 pounds and I’m almost finally under 200. I have about a month before I go back to the doctor so I’m hoping to hit that goal before then and really impress them.

Today’s Workout: Ugh, I can’t believe I’m saying this…

wp-1683561230483I’m back to the desk peddler for a bit because, and it is fucking surreal for me to say this, my hip hurts. I don’t know exactly when I got old, but here we are. I’ll get back to running once I don’t flinch when I try to stand up.

Lunch I had the beef and broccoli with noodles and dinner was a salad that I will freely admit I used waaaaaayyy too much pepper.

Anyway, it was a decent day despite being stressed out over an impending event that I can’t post about. I’m fine; it’s just funny that people think my job is quiet and easy. Clearly, they don’t realize how wild working with the public can be.
