September Birchbox

This box was kinda random to me but the collection is all things I will actually use. I am all into the anti-aging and skin protection right now but lip stuff is not usually in the equation. And I had to look up what the heck a strobing pencil was. When I first looked at it, I thought it was eye liner or lip liner to go with the lip gloss.

That’s why I continue to get these boxes. I usually have no clue such things even exist much less what to use them for. I am honestly afraid to put that on my face because I am CONVINCED I will use it wrong.

I did finally use the Matrix shampoo from the January box, and I did like how it made my hair feel after repeated colorings and liberal use of the flat iron. I didn’t feel any build up and the conditioner was potent enough to get though my thick hair. But would I shell out $25 for it? Nope, not when I can get V05 for $0.33 when it’s on a good sale.

February 2015 Birchbox

I’m not to impressed with the perfume but I am VERY picky about what scents I put on. Chances are they will never send me a perfume I fall madly in love with again because of that. As for the rest, I’m pleased! Lip gloss is my go to lip product (over lipstick) and I am a stickler for having soft, moisturized hands. Blemishes aren’t really a big deal for me (knock on wood it stays that way) so I may give away the cleanser and mask. You never know who can use them. 🙂

February Ipsy

Alas this is my last Ipsy bag for awhile. I’ve been cutting back on a lot so I can get rid of some debts. I wanna pay off my car. 🙂

But I am liking this bag! I enjoy the nail and lip colors. I need to try and get to using these things on a daily basis so I can form a better opinion of this stuff and use it up. I have so much of this stuff, I don’t remember where I got most of it!

And really, how much of this makeup do I really need to hide in the house and type when it snows?

I did enjoy ipsy while I had it and when my finances are in better order, I may pick it back up again!

October Birchbox

Yes, this is late but I completely forgot to do this in anything resembling a timely fashion so just enjoy anyway.

This box includes:

So far, I have tried the lip gloss and hair treatment. First off, I LOVE the hair treatment. It came at the perfect time to heal my hair after I burned the crap out of it for NYCC. It smelled great and it turned my straw-like, brittle hair into slightly less dry, brittle hair. I didn’t use too much but I saw a remarkable difference.

As for the lip gloss, I find it a bit thick for my tastes but the shine and color are perfect for a person who doesn’t want to have any one thing be too bright or shiny. It gave me just enough gloss to look polished but I didn’t look like I was drooling.

I look forward to using the mask. I’ve had good luck with the ones I’ve gotten in the past and they are things I wouldn’t usually seek out on my own.

Stay tuned for the Ipsy bag! (also late but… Deal with it)

September Ipsy Bag

Here’s a shocker: I can use everything in this bag! There is not a single item I cringed away from in abject fear; it’s all familiar. THANK YOU IPSY!!! XD

Nope, haven’t tried any of these yet, despite the fact I can easily use any of these. Lately, it’s all I can do to get out dressed and awake in the morning. Forget getting made up. But that’s ok. Those morning’s can’t last forever. Sooner or later, the kid will get used to getting up and ready for school without having me dog her every step to get it done. :p I get halfway to work and realize that I didn’t wear any makeup. Oops…

As I could SORELY use a “Pamper the Lenni” day, those masks will probably get used first. 😉 Stay tuned for my opinions! My only real question is: What the heck am I gonna do with all these bags… o_O

Influenster Mary Kay Box

IMG_3359

This box is pretty nifty. I was just thinking I needed more mascara and here one arrives in the mail for me! YAY! I’m not big on lipstick but the shade they sent me is cool. And the last thing in the world I need is a makeup brush cause I have so many but you know, this one is pretty soft.

Nothing really to say about this box other than I’ve never tried Mary Kay before and what they sent me is nice. I already have my personal faves from other brands, though.

May 2013 Ipsy Box

IMG_3322

This is my first bag  from Ipsy and I heard it’s as good or better than Birchbox. That’s gonna take some time to see cause I’ve gotten some pretty swanky things from Birchbox.

My first impression is that I like it. I love nail polish (it’s the easiest and fastest beauty thing I can do) and lip gloss. I am also ALWAYS open to new hair treatments for my dry as hell hair.

The concealer however, I am absolutely gonna give away. I am one of those women other woman hate because I almost never get a pimple and to be perfetly honest, I don’t give a rats ass if my eyes have shadows under them. I’m a working mother of a 5 year old trying to sell books and crafts on the site. Shit yeah, I’m tired and I’m proud of it. XD

I’ve used Zoya polish before so I know this will be a great summer color for my fingers and toes. The perfume I have to be careful with because I work with people with scent sensitivities. When I start dating again (or whenever I feel like it) I’ll wear it then. For now, I like the soft, fruity scent of it.

As for the inevitable collection of bags I will have? Maybe I’ll give them away on the blog or my site. I certainly won’t need all of them.
