All my items are currently sold out over at thatsinkingship.com. But don’t worry, I have projects in the works to replenish everything.
Old Farmers Almanac says this winter is going to suck. And I have no guilt whatsoever about using that news story to shill my online shop.
Over at That Sinking Ship, I have scarves up and soon there will be hand warmers and hats. I have a ton of yarn to use up and blankets (which will be posted eventually) take way too long. Be on the lookout for new products!
Since my kid decided to leave her gloves somewhere right when it began to snow, I whipped these up for her in about a day. It’s the most basic of basics, I cast on 30 or so stitches and knit a rectangle, then whip stitched the sides with a thumb hole. It used almost the entire skein of Whatever Yarn This Was Because The Label Went Bye-bye.
My hands only hurt a little after making these and that may have had something to do with having to stop and go shovel. Since it was stupid easy to make these, I may start stocking my shop over at That Sinking Ship with these in various colors and sizes.
Did she like them? Yeah, I hadda practically steal them to wash them.
Since I haven’t made that much of a dent in my stash, I invested in one of these Wirk Desk Bikes:
This way if I sit and knit or crochet all day, I can still burn calories. So far, I’ve lost 8 pounds this year and I intend to keep it up!
After battling with my host because of my complete lack of site building skills (it’s sad, really), I believe I’ve gotten my new store up and running! So, I am announcing it in time for the holiday season! 😀
Bear in mind, this store is to sell anything and everything. Expect more of my needlework to go up in the future but there are all sorts of cool things I find that I don’t really want or need so I’m passing them on to whoever would want them. 🙂
As for the name, I know it’s strange but is really is a giant middle finger to people who think I’m weak or stupid; to people who thought my world would collapse without them.
As the site grows, I’ll be promoting it much more. I’ve been practicing my needlework skills and getting back into drawing, too! So, who knows what will show up there! 😀
Holy crap, I have been so busy I really did just hunker down and work. In addition to regular library work, I’ve been pretty darn popular over at Otakus and Geeks. I have so many books to review, I can barely keep up! On top of those, I actually filled my kindle! I didn’t know you could a do that but yes, I have found to many free books that interest me, there’s so little space left, the kindle glitches out and can barely run sometimes.
This… Has done little to keep me from buying more though. XD
I’ve been making it a point to clear off the shorter stories and novellas to make room. It’s not easy with all the books to review but hey, it’s not like I don’t enjoy reading!
I have also posted another VERY short story on Amazon. In fact, it’s so short, I posted it for free at first, but Amazon won’t let me price it any lower than $0.99. It’s a quick little lesbian erotica I wrote that did not get accepted to an anthology. I figure I have it, its there, why waste it? But keep in mind, it’s smutty and very short. A cute little slice of life thing for grownups only. I am impressed with how much it’s sold but hey, when the words “erotica,” “lesbian,” and “free” are all in the same product description, people click pretty fast. Ah, the almighty power of porn. And I am not above taking advantage of that to pay the bills, people.
The story I’m working on now is a short fantasy story with slightly less smut and a heterosexual couple. This one I fiddled with too long and missed the deadline for the anthology I was writing it for. :p It’s a sweet story but longer so when I post it, it will be slightly more expensive. But I look forward to finishing it and expanding my finished works. Once all my short stories are finished, I will get back to the First Brood series. I promise. It is just really bothering me to have so many unfinished projects just sitting there when they could be finished so quickly.
I will try and update the blog more often. LootCrate and Birchbox updates will resume this month, I’ve been tapped for a possible geek girl themed podcast, I’ll be going to Book Expo, and I’m already applying for my professional pass to NYCC. And yes, I have still been keeping up with my workouts for the cosplay plans I have. They are epic. 😀 I am slowly building up a new shop for my needlework (hopefully will open this summer).
Things are really coming together! I can hardly believe the good fortune I’ve had so far but hey, I’ve worked my ass off for this shit! Look forward to seeing more! 😀
Too long ago, my cousin had a baby and seeing as how I crochet very slowly (and used to have people actively hindering me from doing needlework but thankfully, they go hinder someone else now) I still hope the little one can use it now that it’s done. It’s a very simple blanket with a black border; both acrylic yarn so you can wash the dickens out of it. This took a giant skein of pink yarn so this is a pretty decent dent in my stash!
This one is a gift but eventually I’ll be selling these as well. 🙂
I’ve been pretty determined about getting rid of my giant yarn stash (it’s frightening, really) and getting to all the projects people have asked me for, so I’ll be posting things for your greedy little eyes to feast on as they’re completed. This is a crochet scarf that I mostly made for shits and giggles. Nobody asked me for it so I’ll probably be selling it if anyone wants it. It took up an entire skein of yarn to I’m happy to say it’s one skein down… Waaaayy too many to go.
