Yayoi wants to help Keitaro eliminate his curse, the curse he shares with Eiko. To do so, they must gather more spirits to increase their abilities but meanwhile, Keitaro and Eiko still try to maintain a normal life; starting by attending college orientation.

If you like Mieruko-chan, I think you’ll like this series as well. It has some humor to break up the scares and tension but not so much as to disrupt the scary tone. It leans much more towards horror plenty to amp up the tension. The spirits give me the shivers; the designs of them are fantastic and I can already see the plot with the big baddie perking up. Very awesome so far but – no spoilers – Eiko… Yikes, girl. Just yikes. 5 out of 5.

In order to be able to live freely, Tokio must learn to control his abilities by training at the Yamato Mori; an organization that ensures chojin can be trained and registered for everyone’s safety.

This is mostly Tokio learning how his powers work and some introspection on what he wants from his life. It really drives home how dangerous chojin can be. I am enjoying learning about this world. It does feel a lot like Tokoy Ghoul but it’s not as dark as that series. It’s gonna be cool to see Tokio and Ely grow and become more competant in their powers and I’m sure they’re going to face some really dangerous villains. 4 out of 5.

Tokio and Azuma volunteer to assist in the search and rescue efforts at a plane crash were even though the plane was said to be on fire, all the passengers survived. Such a strange event is rumored to involve a choujin – a person with supernatural abilities – and an encounter with a bully with such powers puts the friends in the direct path of a choujin’s wrath.

Even though this is the start to a series, I feel like I’m missing some back story. The concept, action, characters, and what’s been revealed so far are fucking amazing and I absolutely want to continue reading. Maybe the next volume will fill in some gaps for me. Tokio is a great reluctant hero. This is the same creator as Tokyo Ghoul and I can see a bit of commonality in the protagonists but they’re not exactly the same. So far, my favorite is Ely. She’s adorable and has an awesome design. 4 out of 5.

Lenni Reviews: “Cruel to be Kind” by Kim Dare

I purchased this book from All Romance Ebooks and is intended for 18+.

Xander, a human, has wanted to belong to Malone, a vampire, for a long time. As they are friends and business partners. In a last desperate effort, Xander offers himself to Malone knowing if a human offers themselves to a vampire, the vampire has 24 hours to do whatever they want with the offering. Xander is determined to show Malone he can endure anything Malone can throw at him but Malone is equally determined to show Xander how bad it can get so he never does it again; believing if he is cruel to Xander now it will spare him future pain. Will Xander be able to take it? Will Malone even be able to bring himself to hurt a man he loves for his own good?

This story isn’t bad as far as BDSM paranormal M/M erotica goes. As it is so short (35 pages) if you’re looking for long sessions between the two main characters, you won’t get them. It’s more about whether or not they will reach an understanding. You do get some interesting insight into the mindset of a submissive and Kim Dare is a good writer, but I give this story a solid 3. But if BDSM isn’t your thing, don’t read this one. And this is obviously for grownups only.
