Lenni Reviews: ‘pink’ by Kyoko Okazaki

Yumi seems like your typical office lady but in order to feed the voracious appetite of her pet crocodile, Yumi must moonlight as a call girl. With her step-mother cheating on her father, her little half-sister staying over late to avoid her mother, and locking the young man her step-mother is sleeping with in the apartment with her crocodile, this is an eventful little book. There may not be any magic, monsters, or swords, but Yumi’s life is certainly not boring.

As a character, Yumi is just such a positive, happy person, I can’t find it in me to judge her for her ditziness. I totally empathize with doing whatever it takes to keep your loved ones fed (I’m too old to be a call girl so I write) and she’s just a lovable goofball that you really hope her simple dreams come true.

And, well, since Yumi’s side gig is a call girl, this is an 18+ manga for some nudity and naughty scenes.

Thursday Threads – Finished Scarf!

It’s finally done! 😀 I made this scarf for my little demon seed. I started it when she was just a little mush ball. For some perspective, she’s 6 now.

See why I’m making an effort to clear my yarn debts?

Next up is a baby blanket for my cousin’s baby girl. Hopefully, that will be finished before she’s a teenager. :p

Threads for Thursday

A bunch of entries ago I spoke about clearing my yarn debts; knit or crochet stuff I said I’d make for people but then life happened and they never got done. This is one of the oldest ones; a scarf for my demon seed. 🙂

This is made with tiny, fuzzy, lace yarn that I got in a clearance bin years ago. It’s softer than it looks and a bitch and a half to work with.

Now, the needlework page on my site is under construction (I’m making new stuff) but expect it back soon. 🙂 I like making yarn stuffs and I can’t possibly use it all myself so you guys will be able to buy some. Isn’t that great?
