The flooding from Tropical Storm Andrea knocked out half the power in the library yesterday evening. We had to evacuate the public from the building and the flooding broke the plastic piece from under my car. Don’t believe me? Look:
I was able to make it home but I hadda call AAA to have my car towed to a repair place. Now, I have to pay for a rental, pay to have a part replaced that’s probably not covered under my warranty, thereby blasting through any overtime pay I earned since we opened.
It’s worth it, though. I love that car and I’ll get her anything she needs.
If anyone has any pity, feel free to buy a book.
It’s funny because it’s true! Also, it’s not funny because it’s true. I tend to have so many different projects going at once, I seem to never make any progress at anything because my attention is divided too many ways
So, here’s what I’m gonna do.
Winter Boot will be the first thing I finish. I’m sure there was just a chorus of groans from people who wish to hang me up by my thumbs if I don’t get the next First Brood book out yesterday but I would like to continue my Fiction Fridays and I can’t do that till Winter Boot is done. After that, I have two short stories; “Fylgia” and “Old Soldier” that will need to be finished and posted for sale. Then I will move on to the editing for Greenhouse and the writing of my Go Away Girls steampunk lesbian novel. I can’t keep jumping from project to project (a lot of the time within the same DAY) and expect to get ANY work out for you guys to enjoy
Wish me luck because I am crap at focusing. It’s also why I have three knitting and crochet projects in the works as well…
But that’s for another entry. XD
In life news, I will be getting my car back in about 4 weeks and I’m back to working out with only the slightest twinge of soreness in my back. Between the treadmill and the elevator still broken at work, my le muscles re very confused. But I feel so much better now that I’m able to move around. I DESPISE being immobile. >_<
So, there you have it, folks! Lenni is healed up and has a plan to get as much writing into your greedy hands as possible! 😀 Are you excited? I sure am. 😉
I indeed live and much better, thankfully. The self help books about ending relationships have been very helpful. It’s still a shock because I haven’t been single in 14 years. But there’s significantly less screaming and more writing in my life now. 🙂
I’m also healing really well from the accident. Better than I expected! I still get a twinge when I turn my head but whiplash takes a bit to heal. That, sadly I know from experience.
Happily, I’m reading my little heart out, crocheting, and editing faster than I would have dreamed! I’m back in the library, even though we’re not open because the first floor is still being repaired, and it’s nice to get up and get out of the house every day. We’re doing as much community outreach as we can without a library to do it from. It’s a surreal experience.
I have to take this chance to give a shout-out to all my friends who’ve stuck with me while I have been going through all this mess. You guys are awesome! I don’t know what I would have done without you. *hugs you all*
