This manga celebrates the 20th anniversary of the original series release in Japan.

Damn, I’m old…

This takes place years after the original story and is a series of shorts featuring the cast coming in contact with Utena and the magic of the revolution. It’s a cute but trippy dive back in to the world and characters of Utena. The stories are very quick and beautifully drawn; hitting all the nostalgic feels. In the end, it doesn’t make much sense because I don’t get why any of this is happening other than ‘it’s the 20th anniversary of Utena.’ I give it a 3.7 out of 5.

August Loot Anime Crate: Back to School

  • Back to school poster
  • Revolutionary Girl Utena bento box
  • Digimon Adventure Print Set
  • Back to school phone charm
  • Danganronpa Cosplay tie
  • Persona 3 Manga vol 1
  • Fruits Basket keychain set
  • Assassination Classroom whiteboard

First off, of all the boxes NOT to come with pens, paper, or notebooks; I never thought this would be it. Don’t get me wrong, I am in love with the bento box, the charms and stuff are cool but seriously? Not a single pen or notebook? Way to miss the theme here, guys…

Other than that, man did my face light up at the sight of that bento box. Utena is one of my favorite franchises and I can’t wait to use it. It’s microwave safe, too! Now I just need some recipes for a box this size (it’s super small) but I’ll try and post what I come up with.

Even without any notebooks or pens (seriously guys?!), this is the first box in awhile I don’t feel the need to sell or give much of this away. I’m not so into Digimon so I’ll pass that on to a bigger fan.
