Writer Wednesday – A Writing Update

Ahh, it’s such a relief to not have to sit and worry about that driving test anymore. I’m also back to working out so things are really coming together. 🙂

For a little bit, I’ve put Gods in the Grey City up for free for Prime members over on Kindle. For how long? I have no idea. It was random for me to decide to do this in the first place.

I have resumed editing of Greenhouse (the follow up to Dreamhunter) and I’m saving the short stories for next month where I once again attempt my personal Short Story Experiment 2012! 😀 The deal with that is to just finish as many short stories as I can within the month of November. Typed or written, doesn’t matter. I just wanna see if I can finish a bunch of stories given the proper motivation. ;D

That’s about all I’ve got today. Remember; if you’ve read or liked my work, please leave a review. I’ll post a bunch of comic con stuff when I get the pictures organized. 😉

Monday Writing Update

This was a very productive weekend. I was able to get started on an entry for an elf anthology and I was able to get the house in some sort of order so I wouldn’t be completely ashamed to have someone over. 0.0 Eventually, I would like to start Fiction Friday back up again but all things in their own time. I can’t put too much on my plate at once. I’ll end up spazzing and not finishing anything. >_<
Wish me luck today!

Quick Writing Update

If you follow me on Twitter, you are aware I’ve been fighting off some sort of contagion my child was kind enough to share with me. As a result, I haven’t done as much blogging or writing as I would have hoped so yeah, you all are stuck without a Fiction Friday entry again this week. This must be horrible news to all 15 of you who read this blog. XD
However, in the mental restructuring I so often do to keep my crazy ass out of the loony bin, I have been bitten by my muse and my hand just itches to write.

I have also been threatened with bodily harm if I don’t finish editing Greenhouse and start putting it up. I better get on that then, eh?

Stress and Writing – Why Lenni has been MIA

I’m a worrier. It drives my husband batshit crazy because I will mentally review a problem till I am in a full on panic, (like in this video) brainstorming solutions till you can SEE my brain smoking from a good distance away. And while I am in this m0de, I am complete shit creatively. I couldn’t write a decent piece of fiction if you put a gun to my head.

So, I didn’t.

If I can’t be at my best in terms of writing, I stay away from it. It’s just not worth dragging out horrid prose only to have to completely re-write the thing later.

This is not to say I’ve been idle. I’ve unloaded a bunch of soul crushing bile into my written journal and also finished up another book review for Otakus and Geeks. I have another on deck for this book (which I’m almost finished with).

Don’t think of me as on a hiatus. Think of me as healing from panic. 🙂

Freaky Friday – Dealing with the holiday madness

I’m back at work after 4 days off for a baking marathon (yes, I’m a homemade gift gal). I got everything that needed mailing mailed but I still have more gifts to bake for people.

As a result, my daily writing goal is in the tank. :p

I’ll be honest, I did baking, housework, parenting, laundry, AND had time to workout but by the end of the day, I was so black out tired that there wasn’t enough synapses firing to write properly.

But I did write. A word here, a plot point there… Anything to keep the muscle strong, ya know? But do any other writers find they have to scramble for writing time around the holidays? I’ve been accused of being a Scrooge more than once because I wanna run away and write the very SECOND I’m done with my holiday requirements. Anybody else find this happening to them?
