Things with Yuri’s family didn’t go well and now, Oya’s mother summons Yuri to give her the truth about what it’s like being a woman of the yakuza.

The final volume brushes aside it’s premise so fast and throws in this random thing with Oya losing his eyesight? That’s never resolved? Then they get married and she’s pregnant: the end. There, I just saved you the time reading this. Watching Yuri prove herself to Oya’s mother would have been awesome to see. Maybe even, oh, I dunno, show the dark side of being a yakuza wife? Any danger it might put her in? Put her family in even though they’re not involved with a dangerous crime organization? Nope. That’s a criticism I’ve had for this whole series. Where there were chances to really go somewhere, it turned into just fluff. 2 out of 5.

Yuri’s family finally finds out who her boyfriend really is and they do not take it well. With both her friends and family against their relationship, Yuri has to chose between them and Oya.

It’ took awhile, but here are some of the consequences I thought the series would address but I feel like it was too short. It may continue in the next volume, though. Of course there would be fallout after everything has happened and trying to keep it a secret for so long but I fell like it was very brief and not really worth waiting 12 volumes for it. 2.5 out of 5.

After Oya rescues Yrui from Jin – a detective – Yuri sees just how violent Oya and his world can be and wants Oya to be safe. But Oya has other plans for Jin, who is in love with Yuri and wants to save her.

Like with the other conflicts in this series, the Jin stuff gets wrapped up quick and the rest of the volume is just Oya and Yuri being in love and having sex. The main thing that changes is the switch to Yuri being more dominate while Oya is recovering from his injury. 2.7 out of 5.

In this volume, Choko makes one final desperate attempt to have Oya for herself and a childhood friend of Yuri’s reappears in her life and is now a police officer.

This volume gives another drop of the complications of dating a yakuza by bringing in a cop and I don’t know why I’d forgotten Yuri’s been trying to keep this relationship a secret but Jin (the cop) is probably gonna blab. He doesn’t seem like Oya’s threats would work for long. I hope this is finally something that brings in an interesting conflict that isn’t instantly solved. 3 out of 5.

As Oya and Yuri continue their relationship, a hostess, Choko, that works in a bar associated with Oya’s group becomes jealous of Yuri and wants to get rid of her.

The Choko rivalry is wrapped up pretty quick, as I’ve come to expect from this series. The point isn’t really to have major conflicts, it’s to see Oya and Yuri bone all the time and say how in love they are. It’s ok I guess. If I’m reading a romance, I tend towards more plot driven titles with some decent stakes but I’m down for a calmer story if the characters are interesting enough. This series is kinda boring; not gonna lie. 2.9 out of 5.

After recent events, Yuri is anxious about Oya leaving to keep her from danger and decides to get a job to be more independent. But to keep her close, Oya whisks her off to a private villa but there are secrets he’s been keeping from Yuri.

I’m not sure if I’ll be continuing this series. In terms of plot, there isn’t much for me to latch on to. They’re passionately in love with each other, we see them express that on ‘screen’ often, and Yuri wondering what will keep her busy while Oya is doing yakuza stuff. I guess if you like something really, REALLY light on an overall plot and just wanna watch them fawn over one another and bone, this is fine. But to be honest, I was bored. 2.9 outta 5.

While Oya is spoiling Yuri on a trip, a rival gangster Semilio kidnaps Yuri in order to get Oya’s attention.

Ok, well… In a way, I got what I was hoping for – Yuri contemplating the type of life she will have dating a yakuza. Yet, while the kidnaping is the main conflict here, Yuri doesn’t get far passed “I love him even though nearly getting raped and killed is scary.” Ma’am, can you express some further thought to the danger you’re in? I don’t know if I’d just dump the guy but I’d spare more than a passing thought to my safety. Yuri just hops into bed with him and wants to fuck until she feels better. But I guess that’s not the type of story this series is; this is a whirlwind romance with a dangerous guy who’s shamelessly devoted to you. It’s pure fantasy and doesn’t want to take itself seriously. 3 out of 5.

Yuri wants a boyfriend but hasn’t met the right guy. While at a party, she meets the exact wrong type of guy and is rescued by Toshiomi Oya; an underboss for the yakuza. While the pair have an instant attraction, Yuri is scared of Oya’s dangerous life.

This isn’t my usual genre but I wanted to check it out because of the huge difference in our main leads. It is a typical fiery girl and tough guy with a heart with some semi explicit sex scenes. If you like insta-love and insta-lust in your manga, this will probably suffice but it was just a meh for me. There’s a power imbalance in the relationship that raises red flags for me but again, this isn’t my usual fare. 3 out of 5.
