Today’s Workout: Back to the Home Front

I was looking through the app again and I saw I hadn’t finished the Home Front workouts. I’m not really a D&D person but it’s still interesting to me that they tied in Sam’s adventure with the workout. I needed a day off from running since I wasn’t feeling up to it and this was a perfect fit. I snuck in some arm work with my kettlebell, too. I still need to run a couple more times this week but I’m glad to get some muscle work in.

When I prep my lunches, I usually do them two at a time and end up eating the same thing. It works out well since I don’t use an entire ramen package; I break the block in half, pack everything up in the fridge, and grab it before I leave in the morning. Dinner was very random. I’m still working on getting rid of stuff in the fridge and I had some corn and pork dumplings hanging around. There’s some basmati rice, spring garlic, and some kimchi. The kimchi wasn’t the best, it was kinda bitter, if it makes any sense. Not tart like something pickled usually is. I’ll stick with chili crisp with the dumplings from now on.

30 Day Challenge Day 28

From the sound of things, it looks like this will be the last Home Front mission and I’m sad about that. I really like these. I’m hoping they continue them in some form even though lockdown seems to be ending in some places.

A new thing for me in this session was the wall sit. I don’t do that or even think to do that in my regular routine. I didn’t have to hold the sit long so my knees seemed to tolerate it. I may have to start doing wall sits regularly. I’ll just have to make sure to use a timer to see if I make any progress.

As to why I’m not running as much? Honestly, I haven’t been up for it. Mentally, I’m trashed with all the terrible things happening in the world right now. I need a news detox or to just force myself on that treadmill no matter how I feel. I’m almost done with c210k so I might as well give that final push to finish it.

30 Day Challenge Day 17

Today I let the mission play while I got on the bike so I’ll probably repeat it and do the exercises in the mission properly that time.

I also snuck in some arm exercises with my 5 pound weights so I can tone there as well. Since I’ve been clearing away a lot of junk in my room, I have more space to workout and it just feels better to have some clear areas. The only problem is going through things kicks up dust I didn’t know what were and I keep sneezing all over the place. Not a big deal since I have a minivan to get rid of it all.

30 Day Challenge Day 12

I changed the pace on this to reflect my actual abilities but got on the bike instead of running. It was just not a good day; I was cranky and tired all day, I didn’t even want to bother eating because it felt like a hassle, and everything annoyed me. I couldn’t see myself being on the treadmill for an hour so I got on the bike instead. I’ll have to go to bed early and try again tomorrow morning.

30 Day Challenge Day 10

Today was a quick Home Front workout. I probably should have done something more intense but I took it easy for Mother’s Day and because I wrecked my legs yesterday. I’m just glad I’m able to keep up my challenge but I may do this one over. My normal pace isn’t 12; its more like 14. I guess speed training will be my next mission after I finish c210k.
