Lenni Reviews: “Sweetness and Lightning” vol 2 & 3 by Gido Amgakure

Since these were available in my library system I decided to check them out. No pun intended…

As these three characters continue to practice cooking together, it was sweet to watch them discover new foods and learn how to cool. Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of things, it’s easy to forget there’s a warmth and magic in the simple act of making and sharing a meal with people you care about. However, it can get repetitive and I wish they would have done more with Kouhei finding his late wife’s cookbook. It would have been cute to see him and his daughter try to make them.

This is a good slice of life story that I’m glad I read but won’t be continuing. There’s not enough here to make me want to read the next volumes. 3.5 out of 5.
