*This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

Ichigo Kurosaki was born with the ability see ghosts but when a hollow attacks his family, he encounters Rujia Kuchiki; a soul reaper who battles malevolent spirits to save humanity.

While I have seen a lot of the anime, I never got around to reading the manga. I’m glad this is being re-released so it gives me a chance to experience it. I do like it; although I find it a bit shouty. Particularly Ichigo but that’s ok. It’s high protagonist energy and I expected it since I’m familiar with the show. And considering my previous knowledge, I already connect with the characters and have interest in the next volumes. The creature design is well done; they look dangerous and enough to provide a threat to our main duo. 4 out of 5.
