It is with a heavy heart that I have to say Bucky is gone. He had cancer that spread to his spine and there was only the humane thing to do…
He came into my life at a very difficult time and I came to rely on his sweet nature and thankless support. He was just the best and I am utterly heartbroken.
Bless you, my sweet boy. You will be sorely missed.
Despite not being Christian, making a big deal out of an Easter dinner is a tradition. I’ll take any excuse to make something cool.
I managed to save up enough for leg of lamb, rosemary, chives, and potatoes.
I also harvested some mint from my garden and made some chocolate chip mint ice cream for a treat while I “force” my kid into the annual tradition of watching The Ten Commandments with me. I love this movie and I have fond memories of watching with Ma every year.
Ah right in the feels…
But delicious food in the name of my ancestors no matter the mythology. I am happy to share a delicious meal anyway.
This was my first year at Flame Con and I have to say, I had a great time and I don’t think I’ve ever felt more welcome at a con. Everyone was SUPER nice.
Also, I think since this was a smaller con, things were really well organized. Every panel I attended was on time and interesting, the hotel staff had no problem helping me out in finding the proper places to get my ticket scanned, a great experience all around.
The ribbon cutting
The main floor
A panel on fashion in media
Final Fantasy panel
On a total aside, these blessed things were stationed all over the place.
Every con should have these!!!!
Especially since cons tend to be a sweaty, hot, oppressive gauntlet; having these water stations around was fantastic.
I was only able to go one day but I had a fantastic time and I hope I get to go next year! It was really informative and a lot of fun.
The pin is my favorite. Aside from the fact I am an obvious Ravenclaw, it’s just lovely.
I think I can invent a reason to wear that tie… And also learn how to tie a tie…
All in all, if I were to rank these, the book would be on the bottom for its inability to be used in various circumstances. You can wear the rest of this but the book will just BE there. It’s pretty but not practical. Absolutely a super fan item (and I am NOT complaining). The tie would be next, then the scarf, then the pin would be at the top because it is so shiny and cool.
I will admit feeling as though this crate is a little light on items. I’ve gotten this exact air freshener before and there was no shirt. However, these are some badass socks.
Overall, I would have liked to see just more items. This crate is just sort of OK considering it’s from one of my favorite fandoms.
I am always nervous about chemical peels. I keep thinking my skin will have a terrible reaction to it. Like the rest of me, my skin has very simple needs; cleaning and moisturizing. That’s all. Anything else and my skin doesn’t react well. Since this is just a 3-minute peel, I am tempted to give it a shot. Of course, I’ll post about it when I do.
A for the rest, it’s familiar territory. I wouldn’t be able to tell you if any of these would be any better than dollar store make up (since most of the time I’m too groggy in the morning to wear any) but it’s easy to wear and doesn’t make my skin hate me. Coming from me? That’s high praise.
The third book in my series, First Brood: Lost Brother, is finally available for purchase! Either click here, the picture above, or head on over to my site to select your vendor of choice and check out the conclusion to this trilogy!
I have been sick for about a week now with various things and I will resume normal updates and reviews when I can properly use my brain again. I’m writing but UGH, I feel like crap…
