Happy Birthday To Me!

Today I didn’t do much more than some stretching since it’s my birthday and I feel like I can get a little break. My co-workers, especially my work bestie, got me a little something, which was really sweet. I usually take the day off but I completely forgot to schedule any vacation time this year at all. At some point, I will take some days off, I just have no idea when.

Anyways, I’m 42 now! I dunno if I ‘feel’ 42; what does that even mean, really? I thought of doing some kind of promotion or discount for my books to celebrate but, again, I didn’t think of it until it was too late. Eh, maybe next year.

It’s Mah Birthday!

And I’m not dieting today. Heck, after that snow storm (and shoveling for over an hour to the point where I almost passed out) I’m taking the week off from working out. But that doesn’t mean I’m free for the day since I had to see the doctor about my latest blood work and not only is my bad cholesterol down, it went from 173 to 152 since I started Saxenda. The doctor said it was the best set of results he’d seen all week!

So, I treated myself to my favorite dinner from my favorite pizza place, New York cheesecake, and some little cookie brownies from Trader Joe’s. I didn’t eat the whole ziti, there are at least two meals in there for me since the Saxenda keeps me from really over indulging. All I needed was a little bit to feel special today.

And yes, that is a Deadpool plate. Because I’m a geek.

Blessed Imbolc and…

Wow, it’s February already! With this Imbolc, I really do feel the impending warmth of spring, an increase in my blessings, and the positive energy inside me willing to work hard to keep the good times rolling!

Not only that, today is my 35th birthday! Man, I cannot believe how much better my life is now than when I was 25… Heck, when I was 34! I have significantly less poison in my life, I wake up smiling more often than not, my books are selling better every month, and me and my daughter are closer than ever. Over the last year alone, I really took much more control over my own success and I intend to keep it going! 😀

Really, I never thought I’d slowly turn into the type of person who really did wake up and feel happy at how the gods have blessed me in various ways; ways I may not have seen at first but now it’s all clearing up.

So, here’s to 35! Time to make it an even better year than the last!

Eww, Monday.

I am currently disobeying the most sacred of office rules: Don’t come to work when you have a cold.

It’s not a BAD cold. The worst day was yesterday and I was still able to clean the house and do all the laundry. I can breathe through my nose, I am filled with medications, and I am swabbing everything I touch with alcohol. If I still feel awful tomorrow, I will keep my contagion home with me.

In the (hopefully) soon to be concluded saga of refinancing the mortgage on my effing house, I sign the papers today after work! 😀 YAY!! I’ve been at this for almost a year. Once these are signed, the estate will be clear, too. Two birds with one stone. Finally, the only legal matter I will have to deal with will be the separation papers; which is basically a “sign then leave office” sort of thing. Easy peasy.

A happy birthday to my friend MisfitLibrarian! I am almost concerned about what shenanigans she will get into today.

Wow… 0.0

I randomly logged into Create Space to work on getting Dreamhunter on Kindle (pauses for cheers of joy) and I see that I have a message.

I sold a book. To somebody I don’t know.

I’m sure this has happened before since I’ve sold a grand total of 20 or so copies of DH and I know about 8-10 of them personally (and minus the 4 copies I’ve purchased myself), but I’m still nervous that someone I don’t know has my baby in their hands. I really hope they like it. *chews fingernails*

My ankle is healing nicely and I’m spending the time reading and writing. Mostly, I’ve been working on Greenhouse but of course there are other stories floating around. I’m brainstorming the third book in the First Brood series already but that doesn’t have a title yet.

I’m a little wonky today since last night was hubbsters 30th birthday dinner. I nursed one cherry blossom martini the whole night while he got shitfaced. I also went home early so I could steal Monkeygirl cuddles and he went to a bar and got so drunk (I hear) that people were able to draw on him without his knowledge. I demand pictures, people!! XD

Since it is a rainy and crappy day, I’m sure it’ll be quiet so I can write.

Now that I’ve said that, I’m sure it won’t happen. :p

*throws confetti*

This Mommy Monday, just a quick note to wish a happy third birthday to my monkeygirl. Time flies, doesn’t it?

And a blessed Solstice to everyone!! 😀
