Today’s Workout: Ah well…

wp-1694548306810

I fully intended to just do running for awhile but nah, it didn’t work out that way. I’m not too broken up about it. I’ll do it when I do it and that’s that. The desk peddler will have to do for now and I’m getting in more steps every day.

A friend of mine gave me some Kind bars and I knew they would be perfect for a quick breakfast. It was just the right amount for me to be hungry for my salad at lunch time but not be starving. I think the combination of radish and red onion was a little much but not bad! It was a very filling salad. For dinner, the child requested pasta and since I had a can of diced tomatoes, I threw together something quick. I probably should have shared the chicken I made with this but, I gave it all to my child. He said he was super hungry.

All in all, this was a good day. I still need to get in the habit of not hitting snooze so much and having time to make a real breakfast.

Today’s Workout: Unexpectedly Spicy

wp-1692814735915

Since I missed a day, I went a bit longer on the desk peddler today. Next week I’ll start running again and my period is coming so, I need to be active to help deal with soreness and cramping.

Since I’m trying to eat breakfast more often but don’t always have time to cook, I grabbed a pomegranate cherry toaster pastry from Trader Joe’s. Just one, I can’t eat two of them at once. For lunch it was my regular Itaki meal but as you can see from the little red spots in the dish, I also got one of those little pepper plants from Trader Joe’s and since it says it’s high on the Scoville scale, I just used one. And they are quite potent! Just the one went very will with the spices I already use to marinate the meat. When it gets cooler and I start making chili again, I’ll totally use these peppers in it. If I can keep the plant alive till then. I kill a lot of plants for a witch. For dinner I had a small portion of chips and salsa since I wasn’t hungry after the big lunch.

Today’s Workout: Remember Bobby McFerrin?

wp-1692054183541

This session felt calf heavy so, tomorrow I need to focus more on my lower belly and thighs to keep things even. I was able to read some ARCs meaning there will be more book reviews posted soon.

I actually had three meals today. I didn’t have time to cook breakfast, so I grabbed some D-Plus bread on my way out of the house. Lunch was my Itaki usual and dinner, I was so excited for this salad. I hit up the farmer’s market over the weekend and got some beautiful tomatoes. And I don’t even feel bad about that; I am entitled to some simple pleasures in this capitalist hellscape we live in.

Today’s Workout: Pay attention…

wp-1687977199599

This was one of those days where at first I kept checking the clock to make sure I go to 40 minutes only to stop paying attention and end up going way over. I mean… Its not like it hurts me to burn extra calories. I’ll take any bump in activity.

For lunch, I prepped my usual meat and veggies but it was so filling, I ended up snacking on popcorn for dinner. I’ll probably snack on that huge bowl tomorrow.

I did pack a LOT of the veggies in that container when I prepped my lunch so next time I won’t put so much in there. I felt very over full. The popcorn is just powdered garlic and some salt (that I went easy on since I’m trying not to eat so much of that). Yes, there’s some melted butter. I still didn’t feel like it was that much of a bad thing to eat since I can’t eat very much of it.

Today’s Workout: Meat

wp-1687896898963

More Wirk Peddler today. It was also a day for me to take a walk up to the store to get some more broccoli since I was out of it. A family size bag is $5.99 and I get at least 4 meals out of it. Not a bad deal.

I added tuna to my salad for lunch and I wasn’t as ravenous when dinner rolled around. I was feeling carnivorous so I busted out the grill pan and made myself some steak. I ended up not finishing it so dinner will be easy tomorrow.

I have to keep working on my Camp NaNoWriMo outline which means I may not be able to get the kettlebell in. That’s ok, I was pretty active today! My movement reminder barely went off and my legs feel the good type of sore. I did have a bit too much salt though.

Today’s Workout: I gave in…

wp-1682090657868

Okay soooooo, I was doing really well today. I am aware that I don’t eat enough fruit and I had a bunch of grapes for lunch, I did my workout (that cramp in my calf is really fucking annoying…), I took a nice walk… Then dinner came around and I ordered a burger and fries. I’d been craving it all week and finally caved. And you know what? IT WAS DELICIOUS AND I REGRET NOTHING. I don’t eat like that all the time, I was super active this week, I made smart choices the entire time, and I wanted a damn treat that I didn’t have to cook.

This was my last run of the week and I like the Mon, Wed, Fri type schedule but I usually don’t workout on Friday’s at all. I get weekend brain and just wanna relax. But, if I wanna hit my goals, I need to do something everyday. Since my calves are all crampy, I need to do more stretching and upper body work while that sorts itself out. Over the next week, I am acutely aware of how much blogging, writing, and editing I have to do so, it’s very likely I’ll be switching to the bike for a couple days and continuing to incorporate more walking. I’m doing pretty good at moving around more in my day and don’t want to fall back on that.

Today’s Workout: I Deserve Cute!

wp-1681253166327

This is the point in c25k where I start to wonder if I can make it through the longer runs because I feel every second of those 5 minute intervals. I did them but wanted to have a fucking party once they were over.

wp-1681323955905

I’ve mentioned how my kid won’t take cute lunches to school because they’re “embarrassing” and of course I am told this AFTER I purchase all the stuff to make them. So, I decided I deserve cute lunches and I’m gonna make them for my damn self! This is that soy marinated salmon with rice, garlic baked in sesame oil and red pepper flakes, avocado, tomato, and onion with rice. It was a LOT of rice. I’d put in half the portion next time but the two layers were the right way to go so the cold stuff stayed cold while the warm stuff went in the microwave.

wp-1681258178682

Since I had some of that lemon tuna left, I threw in some lettuce and onion to finish it off. After all that rice, it was really refreshing and also light for after my workout. I don’t know how long I can reasonably keep the lemon tuna in the fridge but I wouldn’t mind making a couple extra portions for a quick, light meal. It sucks standing and chopping for a long time after a workout. I’m already sore and that doesn’t help. But if I have this prepped, all I need is a few extra veggies and bam! All done. I’m all about time management with these things since I  have all these other projects going on.

Today’s Workout: Last Day

Yeah, today was not the best day in terms of motivation but, I did get a lot done. Is it strange to be productive but not really feel like you were? Either way, I was able to get this workout in and make sure my meals were prepped.

I managed to turn in some reward points to get a head of lettuce for free for my salad today. I probably should have added some tuna but the container was REALLY full. I couldn’t even close it properly. As for dinner, I’m still working my way through all these snow peas. I’m impressed as to how long they last in the fridge

My steps weren’t as high as they should have been but at least I got the bike in. I also noticed that despite the scale not moving, one of my slightly oversized dresses that I could get away with wearing even though it’s too big is now too big to get away with wearing at all. I’m actually bummed about it since it’s a really cool dress but, I’d rather take the time to learn how to alter my own clothes than stay fat to keep them.

Today’s Workout: Thick Thighs

wp-1679424138226

Despite not running, my thighs feel like jelly after using the desk peddler. It’s less impact on my knees and ankles (which are feeling better but not 100%) but my muscles are working. But my steps were down today so I’ll have to make up for that tomorrow.

For lunch I made my classic steamed veggies and steak and for dinner, I tried out Trader Joe’s new lemon Torchietti. I made it with just some garlic, olive oil, herbs, and a bit of parmesan on top. I didn’t really like it with this combination but I have plenty left and some ideas for other combinations. To replace breakfast, I’ve been having a handful of almonds so I’m not starving around lunch time along with a thermos of coffee I nurse throughout the morning.

Next week, it’s back to running and I start my ab workout app again. I probably will never have a six pack but I would like to firm up for a smoother look overall.

Today’s Workout: Nope

I’m back to the desk peddler because my knees and ankles are aching. It happens sometimes during my period, I know it’s temporary but I’m not running again until it stops.

Here’s the food I’ve been eating these days. That chicken had rice under it and was marinated with lemon juice and the lime cajun seasoning from Trader Joe’s. It just made me happy to make my Caesar salad pretty. Sometimes, it just feels good to plate something nice before you dig in and destroy it.

Next week, I’ll get back on the treadmill. I’m also working on making sure my veggie scraps go into my little composter so I can try and grow some veggies this year. Anything to save a few bucks and take advantage of the unused space in my yard.
