Another 5 Star Review!

I happen to be poking around on Amazon and on a lark I decided to take a look at my book entries. I like to make sure they’re still up and written correctly, ya know? And low and behold! Another review! 😀

That’s pretty damn awesome. I was concerned the second book wouldn’t be as well received as the first because it’s SO much shorter. But good is good and apparently? I am GOOD!

Guess What!!

Book Two is out!

Actually it’s been out for a couple days. And there’s no cover (that’s a placeholder)… But HEY! There it is! 😀 Because I have been sitting on this manuscript for a year and I’ll be damned if I wait one more second more than I have to. 😉

So go! Buy! Read! And I hope you enjoy. 🙂 Please review if you do!

What I’ve been up to.

I’m sure you’ve all been wondering where I’ve been all this time. Of course, I’ve since recovered from whatever sickness I’ve had and with that new-found health, I went immediately back to work on book two of my vampire series. I have an irrational zeal to get this thing up and published before the end of the month and based on how I flew through this last round of edits, I just may be able to pull that off.

As a result, I have a polished draft but EVERYTHING else went by the wayside. I don’t even know where Winter Boot is, much less have a written conclusion for it.  =_= Rest assured, it’ll turn up – they always do –  and I’ll resume my regular updates on other projects as I get through them.

And hopefully more blog updates. I know you’re all DYING to hear my nonsense. 😉

Writer Wednesday Update

I gotta admit, guys; I haven’t been writing much. Not for lack of inspiration but with my new temporary schedule, I’ve been spending more time reading books to review and playing with the kiddo. 🙂 I’ve been teaching her to knit and we are currently reading Alice in Wonderland. 🙂

Don’t worry, book  2 in the First Brood series will be out before fall. I haven’t forgotten about it.

Happy Friday!

Since I was editing instead of working on Winter Boot, I come with a peace offering:

Chapter 1
Chapter 2

Here are the first two illustrated chapters of my novel; First Brood: Dreamhunter. These are only $.99 each and if you can’t wait for more, the link to the full novel on Amazon is right there (also available from Createspace and Nook). Illustrations are by the fabulous Melody Herbert over at Ragdoll Comics. 🙂

I am also proud to announce that Gods in the Grey City has a fancy new cover! 😀

Cool, huh? Also by Melody, as she’s pretty much my go to art person. ^_^

Hopefully, Winter Boot will be back next week. I seem to have a short story groove going on but in the meantime, enjoy! 😀

Writer Wednesday – A Writing Update

Ahh, it’s such a relief to not have to sit and worry about that driving test anymore. I’m also back to working out so things are really coming together. 🙂

For a little bit, I’ve put Gods in the Grey City up for free for Prime members over on Kindle. For how long? I have no idea. It was random for me to decide to do this in the first place.

I have resumed editing of Greenhouse (the follow up to Dreamhunter) and I’m saving the short stories for next month where I once again attempt my personal Short Story Experiment 2012! 😀 The deal with that is to just finish as many short stories as I can within the month of November. Typed or written, doesn’t matter. I just wanna see if I can finish a bunch of stories given the proper motivation. ;D

That’s about all I’ve got today. Remember; if you’ve read or liked my work, please leave a review. I’ll post a bunch of comic con stuff when I get the pictures organized. 😉

Contest Reminder!!!

Just one last reminder about my contest before I go away for the weekend. 😉 All the details are here, so get a move on! 😀

CONTEST ANNOUNCEMENT!!!! :D Win a free copy of First Brood: Dreamhunter

Hello there, my friends and fans! 😀

In order to pimp the crap outta my book and get some fan-swag in the process, I am hosting a contest.

To enter, send Lenni some fanart or fanfiction from the First Brood series. You don’t have to buy the book to know the characters. The first nine chapters are here for you to read. Pick a character (or two) or a fun situation and create away! 😀

Here’s what you can win:

Grand Prize (1 person for art, 1 person for fan-fiction) is a free print copy of Dreamhunter.

All participants receive a Vampire Cupcake button for participating.

Now, for the ground rules:

  • ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE ELECTRONIC: The point is to get something for free. I’m not gonna make anyone pay for postage. Fan-fiction should be in the body of your email. I would prefer not to get attachments but it’s ok. Just use RTF format. Pictures should be JPEG so I can see them.
  • Keep it to an R rating. I’ll have a different contest for naughty bits. See next rule for why:
  • ALL ART AND FAN-FICTION RECEIVED WILL BE POSTED ON THE SITE WITH CREDIT: On my site there is a Gifts page. I would like to be able to display the entries without having to post warnings all over the place. Artsy nudity is ok. Parts touching other parts is a no-no. Unless expressly told NOT to post it, I will. Right now there is no separate section for NC-17 work. When there is, I will hold a contest for that.
  • All entries must include your name, title of work, which character(s) it is, and what link you’d like the credit to go to.
  • This contest is limited to First Brood characters. With other characters is fine (ex: Auris vs Batman or something) but not anyone from my other stories.
  • Send all entries to lenni@atthequillsmercy.com.
  • One entry per person please. One person should not submit art AND a story. One or the other.
  • Fan-Fiction entries need to be under 10,000 words. I want to have time to read them all.
  • Final date for entries is March 31, 2012. Results will be posted by April 15, 2012 (barring injury or illness of course)

I would love for all my fans to get involved and inspired by my work. ^_^ If my readers would also love to do me a kindness in spreading the word, I would appreciate it. 😉
