October Writing Update
Ohh, baby!! Get ready!!
Something in my brain clicked and I have been pounding away at book 3. I ran through my second round of edits in one day because I was so excited to get it done.
In fact, I am SO excited that the first two chapters of Lost Brother will be posted – for patrons only – over on my Patreon page the second they are cleaned up.
Please note: You won’t really get what’s going on with the story unless you’ve read the first two books; links to my books on Amazon and Barnes and Noble are on the sidebar of this blog.
I am so PUMPED for this, I cannot even tell you. My beta reader (bless her heart as she endures my harassment) has told me how terrifying she finds this new threat and I can’t wait for you all to meet him.
January Writing Update!
The editing for Lost Brother (the third book in my First Brood series) had gone through its first round! There’s a ton to change around, add, and organize so don’t expect this anytime soon.
In the meantime, I have been catching up on my reviews and have some very interesting projects coming down the pipe. I’ve got at least two other series in development.
Aside for writing, I do have some needlework ready to go up in my shop and my decluttering efforts have been paying off! Over at my Patreon, one of the perks is that I would make videos but I had to clear away the space where I would make the videos. After some very cathartic purging, things are lookin pretty nice! 2017 is shaping up to be ok so far (aside for politics but the time to discuss that will come).

Writing Update: It’s Done!!!!!
For NaNoWriMo, I promised to finish Lost Brother. And I did! Man, it feels good to finally have that complete.
Now, this isn’t a complete, publishable work. It’s a rough draft. I still have to type it up, check for typos, fix continuity errors, read it through 3 times, add or delete scenes, read it through again, decide I hate all of it and want to burn it, then finalize it so I can publish it.
It’s an odd process, I know.
I have to say, out of the three, this one was the most emotionally taxing to complete. The other two were hard work for sure but yikes… I need a break after this one.
Now that the story is at least complete, I’m going to move on to completing several other shorter projects I’ve had floating around, then move on to some other novels I’ve started. Sorry to say it but Lost Brother will be the last in the First Brood series for awhile. Mostly because I have no clue what to do from here.
I’m special that way.

May Writing Update
This month has started out insane with library conferences and ticket booth painting (ugh, what a day that was…) so I haven’t been creating as much new content. I’ve been going back and editing since I finally have installed Grammarly on Word. I am so frustrated with myself and with technology after finding so many typos and instances where clearly some glitch happened because there is no way I would repeatedly type a single word wrong in every instance of using it. So, I’ve been going through all my old manuscripts to make sure I catch all those sorts of errors.
Sadly, Amazon’s KDP is the only service that will allow me to send an updated manuscript when these edits are done. I won’t be sending out that notice until I’ve updated the cover but I will post about when to expect it and instructions that Barnes and Noble sent me about how to update those copies of the book.
And don’t worry, the new edits don’t affect anything plot wise.

April Writing Update
I haven’t just been plowing through all these books to review, I have been writing! Probably not as much as I should, seeing how I usually don’t hit my page goal for the day, but if I feel blocked on a story I go ahead and read through my pile of books.
Don’t even ask how the short stories are going… They’re not. Consider them stalled until come brilliant idea hits me.
The good news is, despite not always hitting that daily goal, there are some days where I fall asleep mid sentence because I just wouldn’t be able to stop writing. This means good things for the third book in the First Brood series. I really hope this will finally be the year I get it finished.
As for the blog, expect more reviews of the random books I find on the web, more movies, more comics, and perhaps even more art. You can see the “Finally Watched It” series has begun and I’m planning a series of posts called “There, I Fixed It” where I take movies that either sucked entirely or had a good concept but shit/lazy execution and plot out how they could have been improved. I get so frustrated with movies that fail so I decided to complain about it.
Yay?
