Feeling JAZZED

Maybe because it was 11/11/11 but yesterday, I felt PUMPED! I cleared up all the work left over from my vacation, had Drawing Club with the kiddles, and drove at night without killing anyone. It was a good day. 🙂 I made good headway on a sketch of Auris and Darjeeling (characters from my book for you newbies to my site) and with a short story I’m working on for an anthology. My muse is high on life and doesn’t wanna come down. XD

Lately, I’ve been reconsidering all these anthologies and erotica contests I’ve been writing for. Capitalizing on all the good vibes I seem to be filled with, I’ve been making the moves to try and be as prolific as I possibly can. XD Plot and plan, plan and plot… GODS, it feels good.

In other news; aka: The Continuing Saga Of Me Seeing Movies After Everybody Else Has Seen Them Because I’m A Cheap Bastard Who Waits For The DVD From The Library (longest title ever? Maybe…) I finally saw Thor and Green Lantern. Both good movies, shiny and loud in all the right places. Nothing I can really complain about as a comic fan but keep in mind, I’m an X-Men gal. Those were the main super hero comics I read so if there are discrepancies between Thor the comic and Thor the movie, I have no idea.

I have also seen X-Men First Class. Although I liked it, and I understand the timeline here, I still have this emptiness left by a decent movie version of my top three favorite X-Men: Rogue, Gambit, and Storm. I don’t think I’ll ever be completely happy in that area though. :p

Back to work and ranting already

No sooner am I back to work than I have something neck-punch worthy to complain about. I’m not talking about the general consensus that it’s acceptable to sneeze or wipe a drippy nose before handing a librarian (or anyone) your card. I’m talking thievery. it really ticks me the hell off.

I am very proud of the collection of graphic novels I’ve built for my library. I do my best to stock a wide range of mainstream and indie comics catering to as many tastes as I can. So imagine my rage when I come in to have someone tell me a patron ripped the barcode out of one of our Batman books and stole it. Because it’s totally off the grid if you damage the book before you snatch it.

Stealing is bad as is but if I believed in hell, I would like to think there was a special hot stabby circle for people who steal from libraries. It is just a disgusting thing to do and, as I said on my Twitter, I hope whoever stole it gets a horrible, festering paper-cut. They can get cured but I hope it fucking hurts.

Review of the Ahava Foot Cream

I should have reviewed this before the November Birchbox came but rather than scramble for things to post for NaBloPoMo, I’ll catch up on things I should have done a long time ago. :p

This time is the Ahava Mineral Foot Cream. It smells nice and all but honestly, I get more moisture from my MUCH cheaper Lubriderm Advance Therapy lotion and for a fraction of the price. I just can’t justify the cost for what it does. If I’d want to splurge on some fancy foot cream, I’d get Burt’s Bees.

My train was a little late leaving but off I go! I’m going to be in Virginia till Tuesday having nerd-girl time with a fellow writer/artist. There will be wine, junk food, and crappy movies.

And let me say, its strange to post from my phone. But it totally still counts for NaBloPoMo. XD

NaBloPoMo Prompt – Writing with music

Not only do I write with music, I find I write better when music is my background. I hold the pen differently and sometimes I actually sway like I’m conducting. XD  I find silence more distracting than having the TV on or music playing so I always have my MP3 player charged and ready for a good marathon of writing! 😀

I usually have rock playing but I have eclectic music tastes. I go from Skindred, to Korn, to Enya, to TMNT soundtrack, to DRR, to 80’s music, and to Pink without skipping a beat.

However, I cannot sing and write at the same time. XD
