Today and Another Day’s Workouts

Yeah, I procrastinated the fuck outta that initial workout post and just ended up forgetting all about it. Then I took the weekend off and picked things back up today. They were both really good runs where I felt that I could possibly keep going but I’m sticking to the plan.

These were the meals I’ve been having. I’m still working on cleaning out the old fridge which is why things like those random pork belly bites and hot pot are still happening. It’s gonna take a few more rounds of hot pot to eat all that meat… But, I’m slowly working my way through it all, cleaning stuff out, and also enjoying some high-protein meals. And this set of side missions in Zombies Run is are so silly and fun. Just the most random stuff is happening and it’s so overdramatic. I was never a theater kid but these are total theatre kid vibes. I end up laughing during my workouts.

Today’s Workout: Better Numbers!

I did my run after I got back from the doctor and while I don’t have the bloodwork results yet, my blood pressure is so much better. Still a little high but progress! I think being active more often is helping even if the scale doesn’t move. I can tell my endurance is improving and I’m having fun with these side missions.

Since I was up early enough (I like to schedule my appointments first thing in the morning to get them over with) I ate an actual breakfast before my run. Then I held out for my little hot pot for dinner. Obviously, I didn’t eat all of the beef/pork in that package and I went heavy on the veggies. I’m till working on getting all the food in the fridge eaten in preparation for the new fridge that… I haven’t heard about being delivered yet. Those people better not screw me over… Anyway, I have a little pot to boil the broth and had some meat and bok choy. There’s some white onion under there and I dipped the meat in sesame oil and garlic like yesterday except this time, I used a bit of spicy sesame oil. It’s just fun to eat hot pot and I can’t afford to always go into the city to hit up the good places. But, two nights in a tow is a lot. I’ll have to give myself a break and have some salads tomorrow. Not as a punishment, of course. I love me a good salad.

Today’s Workout: Not a good sign…

When I opened my email and saw there was a message from the ZR team, I was hoping it was going to be some movement towards saving the app and nope. It was a massive sale on their merch which… Doesn’t seem like good news to me. Granted, I was able to snag some snazzy socks and a new mask but, trying to offload their stock seems like a sign they’re desperate. Man, I hope they don’t shut down. This is why I wish I was stupidly rich because this is something I’d drop a bunch of money into so it stays around.

After my run, I had another bit from the bread box I got from Wee and had some popcorn as a snack before I made myself a one-person hot pot that I didn’t take a picture of but it was thinly sliced meat, onion, and bok choy in bone broth. Absolute perfection. Probably not the best thing to eat before I go to the doctor for my semi-annual bloodwork. I’ll just have to take the L on that one if my cholesterol is through the roof after a bowl full of pork and beef with sesame oil and enough garlic to kill a horde of vampires.

Today’s Workout: Tummy Troubles

Ah, a new week filled with PMS that I refuse to let slow me down this time. If I’m gonna be sore and cranky, I’m gonna earn it the old-fashioned way. This workout was a C25k one and everything went smoothly. I was tempted to pick up the speed but, I think I’ll do that once I’m a few more weeks into the process. The intervals are gonna get longer and endurance is important to me. I’ve also been stretching more. No sense getting my old joints locked up.

Since I’d given myself a delightful bout of food poisoning, I wasn’t so certain about eating until my workout went well and that little bit of sweet bread stayed down. I felt okay enough by dinner to have some beef ribs. Luckily, I was off for the day for a doctor’s appointment and didn’t have to worry about being sick at work. That’s never fun. It’s not a lot of calories for the day but I’m happy about that protein. It was so good.

Today’s Workout: Things and Stuff

The runs are getting easier and easier and I’m actually kinda proud of myself for sticking with it. It would have been so easy to sleep in longer but, I think it made my day better to be active right away. The runs are going to get longer now and I’ve already been contemplating doing the 10k training once this is finished. We’ll see how it goes.

I should probably be eating before I do my run but eh, I’m used to skipping breakfast. Lunch was more of the garlic scapes and pasta and dinner was the usual as well. I’m gonna shake it up next week; maybe treat myself since I sold an item in my shop after so long. Another small step closer in stashbusting! I have so much to get through but much like the weight loss, it’s a little bit at a time. And if I can get out of debt by selling these things along with my writing, I’ll take whatever I can get.

Today’s Workout: Yikes on trikes

I try not to talk too much about the missions to avoid spoiling something for the 2 people who read this blog but, I gotta say, I’m not sure I like Evil Sam. The main story has him as this loveable, competent guy that hearing him be unhinged was off-putting. Props to the voice actor because, WOW. As for the workout itself, it went fine despite my knee hurting at various times of the day. I mean it would feel fine the entire run but once I went to walk down the stairs to make dinner, I’d get a twinge of pain. Very annoying…

I’d gotten a bakery set from Weee and decided to try the melon bread for breakfast. It was really good and perfect to just grab and go. Lunch was my usual but for dinner, garlic scapes are back in season and I LOVE those. I made pasta and cut up some Italian sausage, added olive oil, and put some flaked salt on top. Absolutely delicious and satisfying after a run and I only used one pot. All together, it was all under 1000 calories so, my caloric deficit is doing very well.

Todays’s Workout: Fantastic

This run was amazing. I held my form, didn’t feel too sore, and had that satisfying feeling of a great workout. It’s my last run for the week and what a way to end it all off.

I’m doing that thing again where I get obsessed with a certain food, eat it all the time, and then don’t touch it again for months. It’s avocado toast’s turn. I need to find a way to make it so it’s not so damn messy to eat. I feel like I’m in an old school infomercial: “There’s got to be a better way!” as too many bits of avocado or tomato fall into my lap. I should probably mash up the avocado so it’s more like a spread but I didn’t have time. I was almost late for work as it was.

Today’s Workout: Randomness

I was gonna take today as a rest day but I was feeling great! I did the next day on Just Run (a replacement I found for C25k) and it was totally worth it. I felt so good, that I missed a walking interval and kept running. Any soreness I have is earned. Man, I am so happy to be running again. It makes me feel good even after a bad day.

I had time for breakfast so, I made a sandwich on a whole wheat English muffin with one egg and turkey sausage. Lunch was my usual Itaki and dinner was some leftover rice, broth, and broccoli. I’m hoping for a new fridge and need to get the old one as empty as I can before it comes. My meals are gonna be random for a while as I make my way through all of it, hopefully without having to throw out much. I hate wasting food…

Today’s Workout: Bittersweet

While I am stoked to be running again, it’s a huge downer to know that the app I love to use is dying.

I see they’re trying to sound optimistic but with the world the way it is, I don’t hold out much hope. It would be a damn shame to lose this app. I’ve been using it for years and really enjoy it.

I had an English Muffin for breakfast with a touch of butter but there’s no picture because I ate it in the car. Lunch was my usual Itaki and I decided to give avocado toast a try for dinner. I put salt, pepper, and lemon juice on it and even though I cut it into smaller pieces, it still was a mess to eat. I gotta say though, this was so refreshing to eat after my run. I think a whole avocado was a bit much but I was feeling lazy and didn’t feel like dealing with storing leftovers.

Today’s Workout: Getting better!

I can tell I’m hitting my stride. My form isn’t always the best which leads to a little back pain but my legs are getting stronger and my stamina is increasing. If things start to get too easy, I’ll be upping my speed on the run intervals. My pace could use some improvement.

I’d gone to the pharmacy and snagged some almonds on sale. They make a great quick breakfast and paired well with the latte I tried. Probably won’t buy any more canned coffee for a while since I have so much instant and ground coffee. I’ve been enjoying green beans in my Itaki and I finished off that chicken parm for dinner. The place we ordered from was really good. I’d totally get those again. I think the carbs are worthwhile with all the cardio I’ve been doing and it was just nice and cozy end to the day. It’s so good to be running again even if it’s slow going for now.
