New Story Up!

I’ve had this one kicking around for awhile now and I’ve finally cleaned it up enough to sell! At least in my opinion, at any rate… But with no further ado, here is Djinn; an urban fantasy short story about a mysterious woman and her annoying genie, Todd.

And for the low price of only $0.99! Check it out!

Blessed Beltane and Yes! I LIIIIVVVVEE!

Holy crap, I have been so busy I really did just hunker down and work. In addition to regular library work, I’ve been pretty darn popular over at Otakus and Geeks. I have so many books to review, I can barely keep up! On top of those, I actually filled my kindle! I didn’t know you could a do that but yes, I have found to many free books that interest me, there’s so little space left, the kindle glitches out and can barely run sometimes.

This… Has done little to keep me from buying more though. XD

I’ve been making it a point to clear off the shorter stories and novellas to make room. It’s not easy with all the books to review but hey, it’s not like I don’t enjoy reading!

I have also posted another VERY short story on Amazon. In fact, it’s so short, I posted it for free at first, but Amazon won’t let me price it any lower than $0.99. It’s a quick little lesbian erotica I wrote that did not get accepted to an anthology. I figure I have it, its there, why waste it? But keep in mind, it’s smutty and very short. A cute little slice of life thing for grownups only. I am impressed with how much it’s sold but hey, when the words “erotica,” “lesbian,” and “free” are all in the same product description, people click pretty fast. Ah, the almighty power of porn. And I am not above taking advantage of that to pay the bills, people.

The story I’m working on now is a short fantasy story with slightly less smut and a heterosexual couple. This one I fiddled with too long and missed the deadline for the anthology I was writing it for. :p It’s a sweet story but longer so when I post it, it will be slightly more expensive. But I look forward to finishing it and expanding my finished works. Once all my short stories are finished, I will get back to the First Brood series. I promise. It is just really bothering me to have so many unfinished projects just sitting there when they could be finished so quickly.

I will try and update the blog more often. LootCrate and Birchbox updates will resume this month, I’ve been tapped for a possible geek girl themed podcast, I’ll be going to Book Expo, and I’m already applying for my professional pass to NYCC. And yes, I have still been keeping up with my workouts for the cosplay plans I have. They are epic. 😀 I am slowly building up a new shop for my needlework (hopefully will open this summer).

Things are really coming together! I can hardly believe the good fortune I’ve had so far but hey, I’ve worked my ass off for this shit! Look forward to seeing more! 😀

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!

I hope everyone is recovered from all the rip-roaring parties. ;D

I’ve been thinking about what I want accomplished this year and I’ve decided I’m really going to make this year my own. No whining, no excuses… Well, maybe a little bitching but no excuses. I want to finish one short story every month and have book three done by the end of the year. I also wanna lose 10 pounds, which pretty much puts me on an even keel with every other person in the world. 😉

With that in mind, I am off to work! Looking forward to this year. I know it will be better than the last. 😉

Thinking about the new year…

Though this month has been crazy busy (I didn’t even do my usual makeup posts!) I’m already plotting how I can make the most of next year, writing wise.

First off; no reading challenge. Oh, I’ll be reading but no stressing about numbers. I have enough to stress about.

Secondly, I am going to try and finish the third book in The Brood series before the end of 2014; finish one short project a month, and do weekly book reviews of some sort over and O&G. I’m a little annoyed with myself that more writing isn’t happening and that my project list never seems to get shorter. So, I’m gonna blast through that list and hopefully get a ton more stories out there for you guys. 🙂

This year was pretty successful so I’m gonna top myself next year! 😀

Scariest Thing About Being A Writer

It could be waiting to hear back about a submission, it could be editing, or it could be the horror of a blank page accompanied by a complete lack of ideas. But the fear I’ve been dealing with lately is this:

IMG_20130905_143729_970

IMG_20130905_143752_054

See those dates? Unreal… >_<

Those are two paranormal romances I’m working on right now. Short ones I can edit fast and sell for a buck or two but WOW. I sure am taking fucking forever to finish them. 9_9

So, where once I had them in my Google Drive to just pick at whenever, I have printed them out and I’m gonna go at them wholesale. I’m sorta stuck in First Brood 3 and I’m avoiding the formatting on Brood 2 (because we hatezez it…) so there’s no excuse not to get SOMETHING done, right?

Right. 🙂

Writer Wednesday – Writing Update

Ah, yes. It has been too long since I’ve written an update for you guys so here’s what Lenni has been up to.

It’s still been a short story blitz for me these days with a little editing in between. I have learned that there will be no after camp program for my daughter this summer so after turning my schedule into absolute knots to make sure I can pick her up and drop her off, I am more motivated than ever to try and make more money for my writing. Not just to make more to pay down the mortgage early but to be able to afford to pay for a nanny or a bus service to make sure my daughter is in a safe place so I can work my regular hours.

I don’t know why the school district’s camp thinks other parents work like teachers and are off in the summer. It’s very annoying. T_T

But if I’m making more money with my books, I can afford to take leave without pay if I must to get my daughter to where she needs to be or hire someone to watch her. I dunno if anyone would like to donate to the cause of getting the hell outta debt as soon as humanly possible, links to all my books are here. More will be showing up as I finish them. There’s also merchandise and illustrated chapters of the vampire novel up for purchase. 🙂 If you like, pass it along and leave reviews. Reviews feed the author machine. 😉

As I’m sure you are aware, Fiction Friday was skipped last week. This was because I straight up lost the notebook Winter Boot is in. I found it. ^_^We should be getting back on track now.

So, that’s about it. Back to work for me!

Writer Wednesday – Writing Check-in!

Happy Wednesday everybody! 😀 I thought I’d try and get in the habit of a weekly check in with you all to let you know how things are going writing wise since I’m sure you’re all chomping at the bit to see more work from me. 😉

First of all, Winter Boot is nearly complete. I have two, maybe three short chapters to go and I’ll get to posting them on Fiction Fridays again as soon as they’re typed and edited. I’m also working on a loose outline for a lesbian romance called “10 Summers” which will be my next FF offering.

I haven’t touched Greenhouse. You can throw rocks at me later.

I am currently working on a small collection of my erotica. When I say “small,” I mean 3-4 stories I plan to put on Amazon all together. I’m trying to match them up so they all kinda fit together but judging from what I’ve seen offered on Amazon in terms of cheap erotica, I could throw them together like mixed nuts and nobody would give a crap.

I’ve been lax with keeping you guys updated on my book reviews. I’ve posted three more (here, here, and here) and I have two more books on deck.

I have also been sketching, crocheting, and knitting. Expect pictures of my crafts to be popping up on here more often. 😉 I don’t sketch fast enough for my Deviant Art or Storm Artist galleries to be updated all the time but with more practice, I’ll get there.

Yes, I effing slipped on the ice again last week. Winter can officially fucking suck it. Please give me Spring before I kill myself. >_<

All in all, for a gal who’s only three months off demanding a divorce, I’m not doing too badly! I’m not writing more to distract from my feelings, I’ve been dealing with my feelings so well, I have more mental energy to write! If I can stop slipping on, hitting, or getting hit by anything for a few months YEARS, I’ll be in good shape here.

Really, Gravity; what did I ever do to you?

The Plan? One Step at a Time.

It’s funny because it’s true! Also, it’s not funny because it’s true. I tend to have so many different projects going at once, I seem to never make any progress at anything because my attention is divided too many ways

So, here’s what I’m gonna do.

Winter Boot will be the first thing I finish. I’m sure there was just a chorus of groans from people who wish to hang me up by my thumbs if I don’t get the next First Brood book out yesterday but I would like to continue my Fiction Fridays and I can’t do that till Winter Boot is done. After that, I have two short stories; “Fylgia” and “Old Soldier” that will need to be finished and posted for sale. Then I will move on to the editing for Greenhouse and the writing of my Go Away Girls steampunk lesbian novel. I can’t keep jumping from project to project (a lot of the time within the same DAY) and expect to get ANY work out for you guys to enjoy

Wish me luck because I am crap at focusing. It’s also why I have three knitting and crochet projects in the works as well…

But that’s for another entry. XD

In life news, I will be getting my car back in about 4 weeks and I’m back to working out with only the slightest twinge of soreness in my back. Between the treadmill and the elevator still broken at work, my le muscles re very confused. But I feel so much better now that I’m able to move around. I DESPISE being immobile. >_<

So, there you have it, folks! Lenni is healed up and has a plan to get as much writing into your greedy hands as possible! 😀 Are you excited? I sure am. 😉

Saturday Off?

I may be off from Dayjob, but I can’t sit idle. Even when I’m doing nothing, I’m doing SOMETHING. So far, I’ve cleaned a little, basked in the glory of typing up two short stories last night, started knitting the sleeves for that baby sweater, and took my friend’s dog for a nice long walk with my kid. It’s a scary thing to watch how much a young dog and a 4 year old seem to understand each other without even trying. XD

The two stories I finished I sent off towards my Devious Plan. >:}

As for the rest of my day, I’ll get back on the Wii (since the dog walking was more of the dog walking me) and more knitting and writing.

Yeah, I have no life. :p

Back in the saddle…

I really did terrible things on Thanksgiving. Although I made healthy dishes, I still felt like I overdid it. To make up for it, I got on the Wii today and will really try to get on it for 30 minutes every day.

I have also been making my word goals! 😀 I am very excited about that last part because I am back to working on Greenhouse and progress there needed to be made. Badly. =_=

Since the night is young, and I am actually off on a Saturday where I don’t have a mountain of laundry climbing up the wall (how much clothing to these people need to wear!!??) I will stay up as late as these old bones will allow and type up the last two short stories I’ve finished. Tomorrow, I will work on that baby sweater that is straight up haunting my dreams at his point, and do more typing if time allows. 🙂

It feels good to be this busy but to actually cross things off the to do list. 😉
