Today’s Workout: Well…

I have not been okay and it’s about time I admitted that. I have been in a major depressive episode for weeks and on top of that I lost someone important to me so, I’m lucky to get through most days. However, not reaching my goals isn’t going to be anything that helps me feel better so, I’m trying to get back in my healthier habits. I did the desk peddler today while I watched a webinar about how to sell more of my books and getting my creative juices flowing again.

This was basically my only meal for the day, not because of depression but because I’m on the maximum dose of Saxenda and all this food at once actually made me feel sick. And I was annoyed with myself that forgot to add salsa to my little bootleg taco bowl here which is why there’s that empty portion. It’s probably not the healthiest thing but it’s been a long time since I’ve made this. I’ll have enough to enjoy leftovers for awhile, too.

I’m gonna try and make a real push to do better. Fingers crossed things make a turn for the better.

Today’s Workout: Struggle

I gotta say, it was hard to get up and go for a run before work. I’m at the start of a TON of overtime at work. I spend my Saturday and after work today prepping a bunch of food so I can save on cooking time during the week (so expect repeats of food).

However, I did feel good during and after the run, as I expected. This is week 2 of C25K and I’ll be doing more resistance/weight training the rest of the week. Hopefully, I’ll be out of the 200 club this month!

Today’s Workout: It still worked

I’ve been able to make a good dent on my book piles as I’m on the peddler. I had some issues with my smart watch but in the end, it did the job and kept track of my heart rate.

I’m also getting better about having something for breakfast. It’s risky keeping a lot of fruit in the house because like many people, you buy them with the best intentions but too many end up growing fur. Lunch was my standard but with chicken and I had some leftover chicken wings and fries in the fridge so I had that for dinner. Not the healthiest dinner but it did the job since I wasn’t that hungry and it took the edge off. I still have some fries left since I’m on the full dose of Saxenda and don’t eat much. I really don’t like wasting food so, I’ll probably finish the rest off tomorrow for dinner.

Saxenda Update: Possible Side Effects?

I’m about to show some weird ass pictures of my fingernails. Be warned, because there’s something strange going on.

If you look really close at my nail beds, I’ve got some separation going on. Since I don’t have any skin conditions and my last round of bloodwork said I was low in certain vitamins (despite being outside more often) I think this is being caused by nutrient deficiencies. On Saxenda, I eat under 1,000 calories a day. I average 800-900 calories a day and with that little food, it’s hard to make sure you’re getting all your vitamins and I haven’t been very consistent in taking my supplements.

Now, I am not saying this for certain, I’m speculating. I did want to make a note of it as I will be taking my supplements like I’m supposed to and keeping an eye out to see if the nails reattach now that I’m more diligent with the supplements and eating some more nutrient dense foods. And the doctor suggested supplements, I’m not just taking them because I think they’re good for me.

I did do some lazy searching and I didn’t see anyone else talking about this. Maybe this will help someone out down the line.
