Today’s Workout: Well…

I have not been okay and it’s about time I admitted that. I have been in a major depressive episode for weeks and on top of that I lost someone important to me so, I’m lucky to get through most days. However, not reaching my goals isn’t going to be anything that helps me feel better so, I’m trying to get back in my healthier habits. I did the desk peddler today while I watched a webinar about how to sell more of my books and getting my creative juices flowing again.

This was basically my only meal for the day, not because of depression but because I’m on the maximum dose of Saxenda and all this food at once actually made me feel sick. And I was annoyed with myself that forgot to add salsa to my little bootleg taco bowl here which is why there’s that empty portion. It’s probably not the healthiest thing but it’s been a long time since I’ve made this. I’ll have enough to enjoy leftovers for awhile, too.

I’m gonna try and make a real push to do better. Fingers crossed things make a turn for the better.

Today’s Workout: More stretching!

In addition to the desk peddler, I made sure to do my stretching to help with my soreness. I will be running more often so. I want to be prepared.

I didn’t have time to make breakfast again so, lunch was my first meal. I had steak with my usual Itaki lunch and used that same pack of steaks to make dinner with some broccoli and the last of the leftover rice. I’ve been feeling snacky late at night lately and I need to go back to my not eating after 8pm habit. It’s not good to eat so close to when you go to sleep.

Today’s Workout: Whoa, I actually did it

I’m still doing the desk peddler during the week and despite the low heart points, I felt the work in my muscles. And again, it’s better than just sitting there.

I got up early enough to make a hot breakfast and I packed the leftovers from last night as my lunch for the day. For dinner, my friends took me out (yes, I actually went out of my home instead of going straight home to write or workout) to an Indian place for dinner, which I didn’t stop to photograph because I was just enjoying hanging out with them but I did take a picture of the can of soda that I tried because it gave me a chuckle. I very rarely have anything but water or seltzer to drink (that’s not alcohol) so, this was a treat for me. And this was a vegetarian Indian place so the curry and rice I had were healthy. I am now obsessed with the green dipping sauce they had and I am totally gonna try to make some for myself. It was delicious.

Today’s Workout: A nice session.

More desk peddler for today. I had a webinar and doing the peddler made it bearable. I haven’t been trying for long but I have already noticed my hip pain is lessened since I’ve been moving around more. I was really worried something was seriously wrong and I do plan to talk to my doctor about it anyway but I’m really happy about that.

I didn’t have time to make lunch and since the place across the street actually lowered their price on their salad (they’re still smaller than they used to be), I decided to get one of those. For dinner, I needed to use up the meat and veggies I was not going to use for Thanksgiving and the leftover rice. I doubt Uncle Roger would approve of my beef fried rice but I liked it and had plenty leftover for lunch tomorrow. All in all, not a bad day.

Today’s Workout: I did it, sorta

I’m back to the desk peddler for a little bit while I get my energy back up. Next week, I’ll go back to the treadmill.

I did prep food with the intention of getting up early to run but I just didn’t have the energy. And once dinner rolled around, I had even less energy and ate some snacks instead of cooking a meal. I feel like I need a day where I either get up and be super productive the entire day or a say where I sleep all day to reset myself. Maybe over the weekend, I’ll do both.

Today’s Workout: Back at home

Instead of my desk peddler, I waited until I got home to sit on the desk bike; which has a MUCH higher resistance than the peddler. I used to workout after work every day (or most days) and I got out of the habit of that since I was jumping right to my side work. The desk bike is perfect to pedal while I’m editing and man, did I forget how much harder it was to use that bike. My muscles were aching on top of still being sore from NYCC. I’m back and forth on if it’s better to use the peddler at work or the bike/treadmill at home. Either way, I need to get my cardio up and get my schedule in order. I’m morphing into one of those people who lives by a planner with a bunch of stickers because I need to get more disciplined; especially since I didn’t prep or plan anything when it came to food today. It was a snacky day where I ate whatever I would be able to cook and eat quickly. I’ll talk more about this in a writing update but I’m trying to get my newest book finished by the end of the week. Then I have to finish the outline for the next one. I’m also getting my reviews updated so, I’m a very busy gal right now.

Today’s Workout: Successful prepping

I’m working my way through PMS right now where I want to just eat everything in front of me. I’m always hungry so, I need to be as active as possible to balance that out. And when I say “hungry” I mean my stomach growling not just feeling a little snacky.

Now that it’s cooler, I have no problem putting the oven on. I made some salmon on Sunday and had plenty to use as leftovers for my lunch today. Usually with all that rice I’d be too full for a big dinner but nope. Since I felt like I was starving, I made myself a big salad with tuna for some filling protein. Even though I passed 1200 calories, I still felt hungry later on in the night. It’s super annoying to feel this out of control when my hormones are all over the place.

Today’s Workout: More lunch box fun

wp-1695259756575Yup, almost at a full hour! My thighs were trembling! Very awesome. All about the good kind of pain that comes from hard work.

Another prepped lunch in one of the lunch boxes my kid refuses to use. I made myself a salad to go with the steak and pasta but it was so much food, I didn’t need dinner. It was WAY too much. I’m already contemplating different types of meals to put in this thing; maybe rice, meat and veggies in the bottom and salad in the top. I think that would be fun. Those little rocks are actually Trader Joe’s Maple Fudge. They are VERY sweet, at least to me who’s cut out a lot of sugar from my diet. Yes, despite eating a toaster pastry. I only have juice or soda once or twice a YEAR and of course the odd dessert product here or there. It’s all water and unsweetened tea for me most days. I don’t find it boring. There are plenty of flavors of seltzer and again, Trader Joe’s comes through with their plain green tea and blueberry pomegranate green tea. They are delicious and super refreshing.

Today’s Workout: That’s not right…

While I’d love to take credit for the length of this workout but my smartwatch froze around the 45 minute mark and I had to restart it, wait till it properly loaded, then stop the workout. I mean, I did get my steps in, did my squats and crunches, and got my heartrate up in this biking session so, I count it as a win.

As for food, it wasn’t anything special. I went to bed early all prepared to get up early to make my breakfast and prep my lunch only to linger in bed wondering why my alarm isn’t going off. Turns out, I forgot to plug in my phone. I had enough time to rush through my routine, grab a Kind bar and a pack of ramen, and run out of the house. Dinner was the rest of the leftover wings that my kid decided he didn’t wanna eat (after I made them spicy for HIM but whatever). Tomorrow, I’ll make sure to set everything up so I don’t have a mishap like this again and can properly prepare.

Today’s Workout: More time

I’m staying longer on the desk peddler thinking that perhaps it would shake something loose and the scale would start moving again. I’ve been thinking about doing more cardio once I get home but I do need some time for more body weight workouts and weight training; which I have mostly remembered to do every day. It may not be in an app but I do at least 50 crunches and 50 squats to get those muscles working.

I haven’t gotten back in the habit of waking up for a run on my late nights (I’m getting there, I just need to stop staying up late to write/edit) but I did sit and have lunch before I went to work. I made myself a salad after prepping my dinner for the itaki lunch box. I had one of those bars for breakfast so, the day wasn’t bad!
