Today’s Workouts and Camp NaNoWriMo Day 13

Of course today is more desk peddler and body weight workouts. I had to go a little easy because my hip is sore for some reason (don’t get old, kids) which serves to remind me why I’m working out in the first place: to be stronger as I age.

I am not entirely caught up but the words were flowing today. I think they’re mostly keepers as well. I tend to edit out a lot when I go back through but maybe I won’t need to do so much this time. It depends on how things continue. I’ve already deviated from my outline quite a bit and maybe this will turn out darker than I’d originally thought. Maybe I’ll add some more funny parts during the editing process to balance it out.

Today’s Workouts and Camp NaNoWriMo Day 12

I did my desk peddler at work and some body weight workouts after I got in my word count for the day. I’m noticing I can do way more arm reps now. With no hand weights, I can do 50-100 lifts and I can feel my muscles working. I have noticed a bit of toning up but nothing major. I’m not lifting heavy weights after all.

As for my word count, I am still behind but not so much that I feel I won’t be able to catch up. I just need one good say where I can log over 3k words and I’ll be in the clear.

The worst part of this is not being able to do anything else. I keep getting shows recommended to me and cool books I wanna read but I have to use all my spare time writing. Not that I don’t enjoy writing. I love it, that’s why I keep doing it even if I don’t make a living from it. But every once in awhile, I wanna sit and watch some anime or type up reviews for cool books I’ve been reading. Those will come if I can catch up with my word count.

However, I am having a blast working on this world. I wrote Gods in the Grey City a decade or so ago and I’ve always wanted to expand it. The characters are fun to write, the setting is interesting, and coming up with new villains has been awesome. If you liked the first one, I think you’ll enjoy the next entry.

Camp NaNoWriMo Day 5

wp-1657074571381

I am behind in my word count but today flowed so well towards the end. I’m gonna be tired in the morning but so worth it.

Tomorrow, I’ll try to get 2k words in over the course of the day instead of trying to squeeze it all in before I go to sleep. Work was busy so, I did have to wait till I get home.

Honestly, I should be doing 2k a day normally so I can get stories published faster. There’s a book I got about finishing a book in a week. I don’t have time to sit and read it now but I’ll share my thoughts in it when I get the chance.

Camp NaNoWriMo Day 2

While not as many words as I’d hoped, I think this was good progress! Especially since I managed to wash, dry, fold, and put away all the clothes and make the bed. Sunday will be totally free to write, other than making dinner. I will need to remember to get up and move around more instead of being hunched over the Freewrite for hours at a time. I stayed up too late to do my body weight workouts so I’ll have to make up for that tomorrow.

Camp NaNoWriMo Day 1

Not exactly a great start but I was not focused at all, to be honest. I’d pick at the keyboard for a couple of words then my brain would wander off. Maybe tomorrow will be better since I’ll be home. I’ll have to do some chores but other than that, I’ll have the day free.

Today’s Workout: So far so good?

wp-1656436019120

Yesterday I did do my bodyweight workouts but I will tell ya, I felt so freaking tired around 4pm, I called it a day, did all the stuff I needed to do, and went to bed early. I have no idea what happened. I got up early for a day off, did a few chores, then it was like someone flipped my night-night switch and all I wanted to do was sleep.

And yet, in some ultimate fuckery, I spent the night tossing and turning without actually getting any sleep.

But, thanks to coffee, I have a fair amount of energy today. I had a quick walk, did the above workout on my Wirk peddler, and I think I’ll have enough energy to grab the kettlebell after dinner.

Also, shameless self promotion, my new book is out in two days! If you’re one of my Patrons, you already got a sneak preview. This is the third in a complete trilogy and you will not have any idea what’s going on without reading one and two. Hope you check them out!

Today’s Workout: Newsletter Tinkering

wp-1651520873249

Since I’m participating in this giveaway, I’m toying with the idea of a separate newsletter that’s just for my writing since my blog is… Basically whatever the hell I want.

I always laugh when I read blogging advice and they’re all “find your niche!” and my blog is all over the place. Weight loss? We got that. Food? Got that, too. Anime? Movies? Comics? Manga? Any other random thing that strikes my fancy (I’m fixated on Helluva Boss now)? Yeah, we don’t do a single niche here.

Anyhooooo, my thought behind a writing dedicated newsletter was to give regular updates to people who just want to hear about the writing. It wouldn’t be more than every other week or monthly considering all the other things I’m doing at the moment. I was using my under desk bike while I explored around MailChimp and the free templates (because I’m poor). I am in no hurry to release it since I’m still working on Dahlia 3. That story is way overdue.

Today’s Workout: Cardio and Review/Writing Updates

wp-1650042583403

I have a bunch of graphic novels I need to get though to review so, while I was reading I used my under peddler. I’m still behind on reviews but I’ve been prioritizing my writing. But more reviews will be coming!

The third part to Dahlia is being worked on but I keep splitting it with the other WIPs I have. Maybe this weekend, I can knuckle down and finish it but I’m still not sure what I want to do with the ultimate conclusion. I want it to be a happy ending but it needs to be a happy ending that makes sense. I don’t want it to end up feeling forced or trite just because I want my characters to be happy. That’s what’s kicking around in my head, anyway so I have no timetable for a conclusion at this point.

Today’s Workout: Kettlebell for the stress…

Since I have to work this weekend (cries softly in the corner), I decided that my runs will be Mon, Wed, Fri and do weights on the off cardio days.

The stress? Not having to work the weekend (although that is a contributor) but I learned today that Draft2Digital, where I self-publish all my books, has aquired Smashwords… After I went through all the *@&%@&$%@-ing trouble of manually adding all my books there…

I guess I’ll just use D2D going forward (since it’s SO much easier) but this couldn’t have happened in a more ironic way since I just released my NaNoWriMo project on both platforms. When I’m 18 total titles deep at this point…

Moving forward, I guess I’ll just use D2D and manually add books to my profile? Heck if I know. I’m tired.
