Today’s Workout: Bittersweet… Again

This is the last available main story episode and I haven’t gotten any updates on what’s going on with the app. I have plenty of other missions and Radio Able to keep me occupied while hopefully, something saves the app and new episodes resume. As for the run itself, it went amazing! I was sore from going out over the weekend but that didn’t seem to matter. My legs felt fine and I had no issues keeping up.

Apparently, it was fish day. I’d made salmon for dinner and packed up half of it for lunch today. Instant rice didn’t steam as well as regular rice did but, maybe I should have left it to heat up longer. I was craving salad and had an avocado to use before it went bad and it was great to have after a run. It’s gonna be awhile before I have fish again but, it was still good. Plenty of protein and the balsamic vinegar is a welcome change to my usual lemon juice or red wine vinegar. I was tempted to add a bit of cheese but what was there was already plenty of calories.

Todays’s Workout: Fantastic

This run was amazing. I held my form, didn’t feel too sore, and had that satisfying feeling of a great workout. It’s my last run for the week and what a way to end it all off.

I’m doing that thing again where I get obsessed with a certain food, eat it all the time, and then don’t touch it again for months. It’s avocado toast’s turn. I need to find a way to make it so it’s not so damn messy to eat. I feel like I’m in an old school infomercial: “There’s got to be a better way!” as too many bits of avocado or tomato fall into my lap. I should probably mash up the avocado so it’s more like a spread but I didn’t have time. I was almost late for work as it was.

Today’s Workout: A bit of a break

I took a break day from running and did the desk peddler while I was working. I just figure I’m not ready for daily running just yet and don’t want to over do it and end up with an injury. It really doesn’t compare in terms of my personal satisfaction; I just think I’ve done more if I’m running but I have the feeling that’s not the best way to think of it all.

I didn’t have time for breakfast but that was fine. The salad for lunch had plenty for me since I had tuna and avocado in it. It took three containers to bring it to work to keep the avocado from going brown and the lettuce from getting soggy. Dinner was the last of my favorite flatbread from Trader Joe’s. I always have one of these on hand for a night I don’t wanna cook. I can set it up in the toaster oven, hop in the shower, and it’s done by the time I’m in my PJs. It’s just enough to finish off the day with something comfortable.

Today’s Workout: Randomness

I was gonna take today as a rest day but I was feeling great! I did the next day on Just Run (a replacement I found for C25k) and it was totally worth it. I felt so good, that I missed a walking interval and kept running. Any soreness I have is earned. Man, I am so happy to be running again. It makes me feel good even after a bad day.

I had time for breakfast so, I made a sandwich on a whole wheat English muffin with one egg and turkey sausage. Lunch was my usual Itaki and dinner was some leftover rice, broth, and broccoli. I’m hoping for a new fridge and need to get the old one as empty as I can before it comes. My meals are gonna be random for a while as I make my way through all of it, hopefully without having to throw out much. I hate wasting food…

Today’s Workout: Dangerous Food

While not back to how I felt last week, my knees are doing so much better. I can’t wait to get back to running. I wanna continue with the Zombies Run story and the show I’ve picked to watch during the breaks is Sakamoto Days. When I pick a show to watch on the treadmill, I do not watch a single second outside of a workout day. It’s a fun little way to motivate myself and finally make a dent in the very long list of things I wanna watch.

For breakfast, I kept up with the almonds but lunch was leftover from what I made the kid for dinner. I had pre-seasoned turkey tenderloin, rice, broccoli, and cheese biscuits. This is the brand I tried.

These things are dangerous. I would eat them like chips. And they reheated surprisingly well in the Itaki! They’re something I would absolutely eat and as such, I should probably not keep them in the house. They’re dangerously good. For dinner, I had the Trader Joe’s pork shu mai and they were kinda bland. They tasted better when I had them with some chili crunch. And one serving is half a box so, I’ll probably give the rest to my kid.

Today’s Workout: Damn camera…

My knees are still not up to snuff but there’s no way I’m gonna just sit idle. Not only did I do this, I took a half an hour walk to get lunch (my kid ate what I was saving to bring with me) and hit the supermarket to get some decent deals. That walk once again showed me that a damn curb is enough to humble my joints at the moment.

Since I had to go out and get lunch, I decided on a lemon tuna bagel. Don’t give me too much shit for getting a salt bagel; they were out of everything bagels. My camera did that lovely thing of showing me the photo I took of dinner and deciding not to share it but, I had rice and some Italian sausages (there was a buy one get one free deal on those). I made plenty extra along with some pre-seasoned turkey for lunch tomorrow. I seem to be into reheating leftovers these days and that’s fine! I can always go back to the fresh steamed stuff later on in the week.

Today’s Workout: UGH!!

“What’s up, Lenni? I thought you liked running again?” That’s an excellent question and the answer is there are some months where my period hits harder than others and this month was a bad one. My joints are in agony. Just taking a step up or down the curb is so painful, I was almost tempted to use the ramps. If I can’t go up or down the stairs of my own home without wincing, the treadmill is probably not the best idea. I am so pissed off. I was finding my groove and POOF! I sure hope once the hormones even out, I still keep what progress I made.

I’m still working on that bag of almonds as my breakfast, which really takes the stress out of mornings since I just have them at my desk at work and can snarf them down really fast. I’d made salmon for dinner yesterday and saved a portion for my lunch but I was so unmotivated when it came to dinner, I threw some dumplings in my steamer and called it done. The whole box of dumplings is under 300 calories and is pretty damn filling. You’re probably supposed to eat them with something but eh, I liked them just as they were.

Today’s Workout: Meh on the tofu…

I can already tell I’m gonna have to increase my speed soon but I don’t want to push it. I’m just happy to be moving regularly. I still have a bit to go but I am determined to finally get under 200 before summer comes. I keep saying that but, I think if I keep up this workout schedule, I’ll finally hit this goal.

I didn’t have time for breakfast before my run so, I made myself a sandwich and brought it to work with me for lunch. As for dinner, for some reason, tofu makes me feel so much more full than meat. Half a block is 200 or so calories so adding everything on top of that is a LOT of food. Even with half a ramen packet. Oh, I also tried a new ramen flavor which wasn’t that bad! Nothing really different from the regular chicken flavor. If it was on sale, I’d buy it again to change up my lunches a bit. But the tofu is really not the best in terms of the sensory experience. It’s too soft for me to use as often as I use other proteins. Even though it was extra firm. I should give fish another try.

Today’s Workout: New Itaki Ingredient

Since I had a doctor’s appointment before work, I didn’t have the time for a run. I did the desk peddler during a webinar instead. Not as intense but, anything is better than sitting and doing nothing.

A friend gave me some bagels and I used one to make myself an egg and turkey sausage sandwich for lunch. And I managed to get eggs before they were over $3.00. I have a feeling that won’t happen again… Anyways, I’ve been meaning to try out tofu in my Itaki for a while so when I saw Weee had extra firm for $2.99, I snagged two blocks. This dinner was half a block and while it tasted fine, the texture was not quite right for me. Sorry, it’s just not the same as meat; however, this was still VERY filling. I almost couldn’t finish it. I remembered to get as much moisture as I could out of the block before I sliced it up and it absorbed the soy sauce and sesame oil, making it softer than I would have liked. I’d still make it again to change things up.

Today’s Workout: Sounds Familiar

This mission was cute! It kinda reminded me of that one Black Mirror episode only significantly less depressing and more fun because I got my workout in. This time I did two minute run, two minute walk and that’s very manageable for now. I’ll probably keep that up. I mostly felt sore in my thighs which is fine because I’m trying to get muscle definition there instead of my calves.

Yeah, I goofed with breakfast but lunch and dinner were just fine. Yes, that’s crackers and cheese for dinner with some cajun spice mix on it for a kick. I honestly didn’t feel like cooking after a run this time and haddn’t defrosted anything to have cooking while I ran so, that’s what I ate. I wasn’t very hungry anyway so, it worked out and I get to use up the cheese I bought on sale before it grew fur. Total win win.
