Today’s Workout: Iiinnn Spaaccee

wp-17279646771137663818977556890167

This mission has an Aliens feel with the synthetic humans and such. I like it! I’m a sucker for good scifi. As for the run itself, it was touch and go towards the end because my arm hurts (I’m getting some bad carpal tunnel… Really not fun) but my arm isn’t what I use to run. I just told myself to get over it. This will be my last workout of the week, other than some walking, since I have so many damn chores to do and editing to get done. I guess my biggest challenge will be finding the chance to actually rest my hand.

As it was my late day, I had to prep lunch and dinner so, I made some steak and rice to go with the tray of roasted vegetables I’d made earlier in the week. I’m trying to have more variety in what I eat and lean into protein and vegetables. Basically whatever I get in my farm share box, I bake and put into my rotation. Even though my kid doesn’t like it, I do. I think it’s interesting to eat all these new things.

Today’s Workout: Small victories

wp-17277355827255356006819052631600

I’ve been complaining that the scale isn’t moving for awhile now but, when I got on the scale this morning, I noticed that my body fat percentage has gone from in the 40’s a few months ago to 34%. That’s so much better and closer to what Google says is recommended for a woman my age. I may not be skinny, but I’m healthier than I used to be. I still need to do more weight training. I don’t do it often enough; maybe twice a week as opposed to cardio that I do 4-5 times a week.

I don’t have pictures of food this time because I honestly didn’t feel like taking them. It’s all the same thing anyway so, what’s the point? Unless I do something impressive or you guys really wanna see them?

At any rate, this was a good run. I like this side mission. This app really does a good job taking the characters from the main story and putting them in the most random situations. I don’t pay for the extra Marvel parts of the app. If anyone does, tell me if it’s worth doing if you’re only a passive Marvel fan.

Today’s Workout: Long Day

wp-17274471658392251829490815713264

Even though I’m off today, I still got up to run before I started all my chores and errands. I have a long string of workdays ahead of me with some overtime so to make things easier on myself, I did as much cleaning and cooking as I could in advance. That way I can just reheat something healthy rather than end up ordering something to save time.

As for the workout itself, this was the start of week 4 of C25K. That means the workouts and intervals are getting longer. This run went just fine. In fact, I thought it was too easy by the end of it. My only issue is my period makes my muscles and joints hurt whether I’m working out or not. It’s not soreness I earned, it just exists in the background almost taunting me with my inevitable aging. This month isn’t as bad as some others and I think that’s because I didn’t stop. I stayed on my workout schedule even though I was overtired and kinda bitchy.

Also, I ended up removing Google Fit from my home screen to prevent myself from even accidentally opening it and having all my steps vanish. It’s still logging my workouts and running in the background but it doesn’t “adjust” unless I open it.

Today’s Workout: Rings of Power

wp-17273620709596893886745335955241

I hear ‘ring of power’ and I automatically think LoTR which is funny because I haven’t been interested in that franchise since the original trilogy. That said, this mission had nothing do to with LoTR. That’s just my brain rot.

I was hungry when I got up but I didn’t want any excuses to delay my run. I satisfied my breakfast craving by making a scrambled egg and sausage on a croissant. The sausage was the meatless kind from Trader Joe’s and it’s not for any kind of super ethical or dietary reasons. I just like them and they fit on the bread. I’m out of food to cook in the Itaki but I had a TON of romaine built up in the fridge. I made myself a big ass salad to bring for dinner and it was kinda nice to just sit down and eat rather than wait for it to cook. Not that I mind cooking, there’s just s different vibe to not having to wait. I do need to do some more cooking but that’s for tomorrow. I still have a bunch of editing to do because it’s been too long since I published another book.

Today’s Workout: “Overwhelmed?”

wp-17265266031363320296150212026552

It’s funny how someone can observe me and say I appear overwhelmed, yet when I ask for help, I get attitude and impatience. Like it takes moving mountains to preheat the oven before I get home. I still managed to get everything done but it took longer and left less time to try and do any writing before bed. At least I was able to edit some so, the new chapter for Patreon should be up soon.

Since my clearly overwhelmed self didn’t get any help with dishes, I wasn’t able to make something from home for lunch and opted for a tuna sandwich on a bagel that also gifts me a 20 minute walk to go get it. How that and my run didn’t net me 10k steps is wild but eh, that’s not the goal for the day. For dinner, I made steak and potatoes; the potatoes bake while I’m running and by the time my shower was done, perfect taters and plenty for leftovers tomorrow. I did treat myself to a can of cider because as far as I’m concerned, when the Fall ciders and beers come out, it’s Fall. And I love trying out the new items.

Today’s Workout: Only?

wp-17263284563057239890895547972310

Despite getting in my run before I started in on all my chores for the day; it felt like I didn’t get anything accomplished. When I sat down and listed out what I’d done, I was forced to realize that I did a lot even if there were things I didn’t get to. I was hoping to get to a bunch of reviews but, I ran out of time by the end of the day and I just fell into bed. It was hard to keep thinking “Oh, I only did” when the list of things after that was fairly long.

Of course since I ran and walked around doing stuff, it was a high steps day but I didn’t feel overly sore. Regular sore and once I’d laid out what I did all day, pretty proud of what I did instead of being bummed out by what I didn’t do. The scale still isn’t moving but, my scale takes other measurements and my body fat percentage is down! I take that as a very good sign. I didn’t take any pictures of my food but I ate decently. I did order food but the portions are always so big, I never finish them.

Today’s Workout: Old House

Instead of sleeping in, I talked myself into getting on the treadmill before work and it was worth it. I’m sore but accomplished. I probably didn’t need to also do the desk peddler. It certainly couldn’t hurt to workout twice in one day if I have the time and it doesn’t injure me. I’m glad to be running again especially since I actually pay for the Zombies Run app. I don’t need to be wasting any money.

wp-17243574802396160479344802481910

Here you can see since I started Saxenda again, my weight has been trending down! I don’t have much further to go for my first goal of getting under 200 pounds. I am hoping by putting regular tuns back into my schedule, I’ll hit that goal faster.

For lunch I had one of the Factor meals that I didn’t take a picture of. It was the pork ragu with green beans and I’m kinda shocked that meal was over 500 calories and what I make in the Itaki is less calories. While I do enjoy cooking, Factor does come in handy in a pinch. I don’t always have the time, energy, or ingredients to do big meals.

Today’s Workout: Week 4 something, something

wp-17138257524027784748735380275148

With my kid gone for the week, I’m trying to run after work again. Since the Saxenda makes it so I don’t feel hungry right when I get home, I went to run first then felt a little peckish afterwards. After that, I’ll make something for dinner. I tell ya, the 5 minute interval was tough but I’ve done longer intervals and I’ll get used to this again. I just have to go back to being that annoying person who stops life until I can workout since it’s important for me to keep it up.

wp-17138307171381695448930665389193

After my Itaki lunch, I made myself a salad after my workout. I remembered to use the cucumber I bought but forgot the radishes… I hope I remember them next time because I did a clean out of the fridge and I was so pissed at how much food I’d had to throw out because my kid was all “Of course I’ll eat it” and had someone order Chipotle for him behind my back. Then he’ll complain I don’t cook for him… Then when I do, he’ll brag I should open a restaurant but won’t finish the food. Teenagers don’t make sense!!!

Today’s Workout: C25K Week 4

wp-17120968102685752294948461420890

I know it’s only Tuesday but, I think I’m doing pretty good with getting in my running after work. If I stick to doing it right when I walk in the door before I can talk myself out of it, I bet I can get 4 runs in this week. It does take time away from my evening writing/editing/needlework but if I’m not healthy, I can’t do any of those things. Plus, I think it is actually helping with the depression symptoms.

I have been eating breakfast; usually one toaster pastry because I can eat that on the go but I’m still working my way through my batch of flank steak and rice, then I made a salad for dinner after my run. Everything together actually broke 1,000 calories, which is rare but since I’m running again, I’m not going to worry. I clearly burned a ton of calories today and got my heart rate up. Also, I don’t feel that horrid overfullness I can get on the Saxenda if I overeat. I feel satisfied and accomplished. Sore, but accomplished.

Today’s Workout: Struggle

I gotta say, it was hard to get up and go for a run before work. I’m at the start of a TON of overtime at work. I spend my Saturday and after work today prepping a bunch of food so I can save on cooking time during the week (so expect repeats of food).

However, I did feel good during and after the run, as I expected. This is week 2 of C25K and I’ll be doing more resistance/weight training the rest of the week. Hopefully, I’ll be out of the 200 club this month!
