Workout and Food Catch Up.

I’m still sticking with the desk peddler these days because I can do other things while doing it and I’m trying to get my thigh muscles to grow. I have lost a few more pounds (back down to 210) and that means lose skin in places. Since I am broke and will likely never get skin surgically removed, I’ll have to fill in the gaps with muscles.

That pasta sauce is made with diced up summer squash and zucchini because I get so damn many of them in my CSA box, it’s impossible for me to eat in my usual way, which is the other picture. That’s sliced and steamed with some asparagus risotto that I will not even pretend I made myself. It’s frozen from Trader Joe’s and reheated in my Itaki box. Steaming to reheat things is so much better than the microwave. I really like it and I’m tempted to get the Itaki pot to reheat things like the pasta. Also, I made a HUGE pot of that sauce and I’m so glad it turned out good. I froze the rest to use later but I’m gonna have to come up with another way to use these veggies up if I keep getting so many of them every week. There’s only so much pasta I can eat.

Yes, I already thought of making bread. And chips. I’ll have to see about that because I am trying not to use the oven during the summer.

Today’s Workout: Steamed Wings

wp-1721764589545927458557276477680

This time I was able to get in the workout without having to pause. This worked out well since I had some editing to do and I finally finished the next chapter for Patreon. That’ll be up before the end of the week for sure.

Yeah, I’m still working my way through the vegetables but this time, I put in some raw chicken wings and cooked them in the Itaki. It turned out really good! I do tend to favor crunchy wings but steam is healthier and didn’t feel too mushy when eating. I used low sodium soy sauce for the marinade and cooked it for about 30 minutes on the reheat function of the electric lunch box. Not a single pink spot to be found! Definitely gonna have to try this with different marinades and vegetables for other meals.

Today’s Workout: Glitches

wp-17211509481456498508424575165157

As the “WTF is Google Fit Doing” saga continues, for some reason my watch was just not fucking working. No matter what I pressed, if I restarted it, it would just not let me see the watch face, much less track a workout. After a bit, I gave up and entered it manually and I guess it was about 40 minutes? Meh, I’ll take it.

As for food, I made my Itaki lunch and was not hungry at all when dinner came around. That ended up being a good thing since my kid left the sink a disaster and I couldn’t make anything more complicated than some popcorn as a snack anyway. It was a decent calorie day considering, still under 1000 and I was active. Still forgot about the damn squats, though!

Today’s Workout: No more challenge

wp-17210717242799172368319196081529

Since I got sick and broke my streak, I’m just powering ahead and being active for at least 30 minutes; depending what free time I have. I’m also doing at least 100 crunches every night right before I go to sleep but I keep forgetting the squats. I’ll get back to those eventually.

I don’t have any pictures of food cause I had a MASSIVE craving for pizza on Saturday and whenever I order food, I end up eating it for a few days since the Saxenda limits my appetite. And honestly, delivery costs so much, I better get at least 3 meals out of the typical portions.

Today’s Workout: Challenge Day 37

wp-17181180074989134871788118031256

Yes, I’m still trucking along with the stationary bike and getting used to feeling a normal amount of hunger. I do have to say my stomach absolutely shrank. I had a bagel with scrambled eggs and sausage and I wasn’t hungry again till close to dinner time. That’s with the 40 minute bike and 20 minute walk to get ingredients for this sandwich I’m obsessed with. My friend offered me half when she bought one and it was so good, I had to make it myself.

This is prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato, spring greens, and pesto on a croissant (with the rest of the tomato sliced up on the side because I’m lazy and didn’t wanna bother wrapping it up for later). It is so refreshing and tasty but also filling. Of course I had to modify it by adding a few dashes of Trader Joe’s Spicy Garlic Seasoning. I could probably split this with someone else and be totally fine. Something this big is a lot of calories and I did feel overfull again but it’s really good and so easy to make now that its hot and I don’t wanna bother using the stove or oven. And even my kid likes it! I thought it’d be too bougie and complicated for them but nope. It’s all a great combination and I’ll try not to have it so many times I get sick of it.

Workout Dump: Day 25 Reached

While I’ve been iffy about posting the workouts daily, I have been making sure to workout every day for at least 30 minutes. I’ve moved to the stationary desk bike at home because that’s where the air conditioner is and my hip kinda hurts. I haven’t really remembered to do my squats daily but I’ve remembered the crunches most nights! My belly has always bothered me and even if I don’t have a six pack (yeah, I don’t see that in my future ever) it’d be nice to tone up a bit because I own crop tops now. Fat or not, it’s too hot to deal with a lot of clothes.

I haven’t been taking pictures of every meal (do ya’ll care about that?? Lemmie know) but this was a fun one. I absolutely underestimated the quantities of a vegetable order and hadda get creative in using up as much as I can (didn’t do a bad job but there’s still a bit left). This salmon was marinated in Trader Joe’s Soyaki sauce and it was AMAZING. And again, still not eating much more than I was on the Saxenda. I ended up putting half of this away for the next day (there’s white rice under there). Along with the salmon is bok choy, garlic scapes, and yellow scallions. The child didn’t like the garlic scapes so much but I think it’s because I didn’t cook them enough. They were a little bitter. I’ll know better for next time.

Today’s Workout: Well…

wp-17103523211348673609040871569920

I have not been okay and it’s about time I admitted that. I have been in a major depressive episode for weeks and on top of that I lost someone important to me so, I’m lucky to get through most days. However, not reaching my goals isn’t going to be anything that helps me feel better so, I’m trying to get back in my healthier habits. I did the desk peddler today while I watched a webinar about how to sell more of my books and getting my creative juices flowing again.

This was basically my only meal for the day, not because of depression but because I’m on the maximum dose of Saxenda and all this food at once actually made me feel sick. And I was annoyed with myself that forgot to add salsa to my little bootleg taco bowl here which is why there’s that empty portion. It’s probably not the healthiest thing but it’s been a long time since I’ve made this. I’ll have enough to enjoy leftovers for awhile, too.

I’m gonna try and make a real push to do better. Fingers crossed things make a turn for the better.

Today’s Workout: More stretching!

In addition to the desk peddler, I made sure to do my stretching to help with my soreness. I will be running more often so. I want to be prepared.

I didn’t have time to make breakfast again so, lunch was my first meal. I had steak with my usual Itaki lunch and used that same pack of steaks to make dinner with some broccoli and the last of the leftover rice. I’ve been feeling snacky late at night lately and I need to go back to my not eating after 8pm habit. It’s not good to eat so close to when you go to sleep.

Today’s Workout: Whoa, I actually did it

wp-17065466810246800421856201167428

I’m still doing the desk peddler during the week and despite the low heart points, I felt the work in my muscles. And again, it’s better than just sitting there.

I got up early enough to make a hot breakfast and I packed the leftovers from last night as my lunch for the day. For dinner, my friends took me out (yes, I actually went out of my home instead of going straight home to write or workout) to an Indian place for dinner, which I didn’t stop to photograph because I was just enjoying hanging out with them but I did take a picture of the can of soda that I tried because it gave me a chuckle. I very rarely have anything but water or seltzer to drink (that’s not alcohol) so, this was a treat for me. And this was a vegetarian Indian place so the curry and rice I had were healthy. I am now obsessed with the green dipping sauce they had and I am totally gonna try to make some for myself. It was delicious.

Today’s Workout: A nice session.

wp-1700581883416

More desk peddler for today. I had a webinar and doing the peddler made it bearable. I haven’t been trying for long but I have already noticed my hip pain is lessened since I’ve been moving around more. I was really worried something was seriously wrong and I do plan to talk to my doctor about it anyway but I’m really happy about that.

I didn’t have time to make lunch and since the place across the street actually lowered their price on their salad (they’re still smaller than they used to be), I decided to get one of those. For dinner, I needed to use up the meat and veggies I was not going to use for Thanksgiving and the leftover rice. I doubt Uncle Roger would approve of my beef fried rice but I liked it and had plenty leftover for lunch tomorrow. All in all, not a bad day.
