Today’s Workout: Phew…

wp-1685994925492

It’s still hot in my office but I’m not going to give up on my goal of trying to keep up with my activity. It wasn’t fun but still worth it.

I brought a salad for lunch instead of cooking it and I know that red onion isn’t a usual part of a Caesar salad but it I liked it. Not that I would make a habit of it. It was gonna go bad so, I needed to use it as soon as possible.

Dinner was salmon with baby broccoli over rice; that I was craving for some reason. I don’t usually crave rice but hey, it was really good since I cooked the salmon in olive oil and butter and just drizzled the juices over the rice.

I really hope they find a way to fix the temperature in my office. Not that I want it frigid cold like it usually is but I have a little heater to help with that. It’s better than feeling like you’re being slow cooked as you work.

Today’s Workout: Yes, there’s two of them

I was all set on the desk peddler when the Saxenda kicked in and when that happens, you drop everything and go to the bathroom. Then I went back and did the full 40 minutes I’d intended to do in the first place.

For lunch I had steamed bok choy and snow peas with beef and ramen noodles. Around dinner, I wasn’t really that hungry so I had a small salad. I finally remembered to do my 50 squats and crunches and got my steps in. A couple days ago, I weighed myself and I’m down to 202.8! I’ve lost 29.2 pounds and I’m almost finally under 200. I have about a month before I go back to the doctor so I’m hoping to hit that goal before then and really impress them.

Today’s Workout: Ugh, I can’t believe I’m saying this…

wp-1683561230483I’m back to the desk peddler for a bit because, and it is fucking surreal for me to say this, my hip hurts. I don’t know exactly when I got old, but here we are. I’ll get back to running once I don’t flinch when I try to stand up.

Lunch I had the beef and broccoli with noodles and dinner was a salad that I will freely admit I used waaaaaayyy too much pepper.

Anyway, it was a decent day despite being stressed out over an impending event that I can’t post about. I’m fine; it’s just funny that people think my job is quiet and easy. Clearly, they don’t realize how wild working with the public can be.

Today’s Workout: Cute

wp-1680550378767

Since I was feeling a little sore, I went for the desk peddler today. I will run at least once this week but I’m feeling kinda bleh. I just needed to move around and get my heart rate up for a bit.

wp-1680539006733

Since my kid thinks it’s embarrassing to take a cute lunch to school I decided to make one for my damn self! the food won’t go to waste and I can use all the cute lunch boxes I have. It’s a win win in my book.IMG_20230403_175857017

After all that food for lunch, I decided to go light with a salad for dinner. I used a lot of seasoning on the wings a LOT and lunch felt like too much food (probably could have done without the crackers and cheese). Even a Caesar salad seemed like too much. I just used olive oil and red wing vinegar.

A previous lunch was the leftovers from that salmon bowl I made and yeah, this was something that would have benefitted from separate containers. I ended up putting the cold ingredients on the cap while I warmed the rest in the microwave. That salmon was so good, I absolutely will make that again and put it in a more convenient container for reheating. One day if I ever get out of debt, I wanna get this Itaki so I don’t need the microwave anymore. I can just take the cold food out, set the timer for the hot food, and eat when ready.

I’m actually having fun coming up with different meals and experimenting with what I bring to work. I will need to cool it with the noodles and rice so I’m not eating so many carbs but, still! I have a ton of recipes I’ve saved in my ChefTap that I could make as well. That would be an interesting project.

Today’s Workout: Still not quite there…

wp-1677616452031

I didn’t workout yesterday to do some chores instead (still counts as burning calories, right?) but today is the desk peddler. I am able to easily do 40 minutes or more so I think it’s time I get back to running. I totally missed my goal of getting under 200 by the end of the month (I’m still around 203-204) and I am very impatient with myself.

wp-1677538013301Last night I made another sandwich and I have decided I do NOT like the turkey. Maybe it’s the brand but I find it slimy to eat and I will be sticking with roast beef.

This was my lunch today. My child decided to use up ALL the onion I was saving for my lunch so I used scallions to replace it. It was about the same so it’ll do if the kid decides to make another salad using a 3-pack of romaine at a time. Kid thinks I’m rich! A bag of romaine is $4 if I can get it cheap. Considering we eat salads multiple times a week, that’s a LOT of money.

Over the weekend, I tried tomahawk steak for the first time. Like a typical nearly middle-aged woman who likes to cook, I spend too much time online watching food/cooking videos and the first time I saw this cut, I was obsessed. I had to try it. I used a reverse sear with butter, rosemary, sage, thyme, and as much garlic as I wanted. The onions went in last and I served it over rice with all the juices. Absolutely amazing and of course, I am comfortably eating the leftovers. I did save the bone to make some broth later.

I think that catches me up with everything. Now, I need to look into growing massive amounts of lettuce because I birthed a voracious vegetable monster.

Today’s Workout: Percentages

wp-1675969522706

More desk peddler today but when I got on the scale this morning, I noticed that my body fat percentage is down. When I started keeping notice of it months ago, it was around 43% and now it’s about 33%. While my actual weight may be stuck, I think its awesome. It shows me that I’m not just spinning my wheels here and progress is being made.

wp-16759695357122451958767893839443

This looks like a mess but this was my lunch for today. Dinner was the same ole chicken and bok choy so, I skipped the picture this time. I have been trying to get more fish into my diet since I keep forgetting to take my stupid omega-3 supplements so I put in a can of tuna (in water to save calories even thought I really like the tuna in oil). I used red wine vinegar and olive oil as dressing and Nufield’s Garlic Croutons are a suitable replacement for the discontinued Garlic Parmesan Croutons from Trader Joe’s (Omg, bring those back!).

I don’t view salads as ‘diet food.’ I legitimately enjoy them and sometimes even have cravings for them. So, if you see me posting them, it’s not because I think a salad will be more beneficial to my weight loss than something else, it’s because I like them. Besides, I’m trying to avoid the ‘good food, bad food’ mentality with my regular meals and save the ‘bad food’ thoughts for when I’m treating myself to take out or something.

Today’s Workouts: Moving around more

In addition to the desk bike, I had to pop over to the store to get the ingredients to make that steak sandwich again. The kid really liked it and avocados were on sale.

I thought that doing the bike and talking that walk would be too much but I was ok! And getting in those extra steps is always good. I just feel a little sore from the kettlebell yesterday and carrying the heavy grocery bag on my shoulder on the walk back. I saw some canned stuff on sale and the kid has been whining that I haven’t made meat sauce in awhile. So, I guess that’s how I’ll be spending my weekend.

Today’s Workout: The rest on repeat

I did the bike and kettlebell today and man, my thighs were feeling it again.

Since my food was just a repeat of the previous day, I didn’t take any pictures. It was exactly the same meal and I didn’t make anything for dinner because I was still full from lunch.

Mostly, I am so tired from working so many days in a row. It’s almost done so I can finally have a day off soon. Then I can actually put two words together to make a longer post.

Today’s Workout: Gotta Catch Up…

wp-1657120546659

I made sure to get this workout in early so I can spend the rest of the day working on my book. I really pushed the pace to get more calorie burn and I’ll be doing the kettlebell later. Since I’m doing Camp NaNoWriMo, I am sitting more so it’s even more important to get more steps in and get my muscles moving. So far, I’ve had success with an alert popping up to tell me I need to get more steps in. I’m getting higher numbers but still not close to 5k a day. It’s getting so much easier, though, and it keeps me from hunching over the Freewrite all day.

Today’s Workout: Desk Bike Progress

wp-1657044494159

I’d intended to do a longer workout but I didn’t have the time or focus for it. I’m too tired to focus on any one thing so I didn’t want to half ass ten more minutes.

At home, I’m still doing my body weight workouts and even though this is the week of my period, the scale is pretty stable. Not dropping but not gaining either. I swear, I’m gonna have a party once I get under 200. It’s taking so much longer than I thought it would and I’m frustrated.
