Today’s Workout: Small Improvements

I don’t wanna talk about the orange… I sincerely hope I can get to them before they grow mold. I will be so pissed if I have to throw a lot of them out. As for the workout, it was pretty standard. I’m still using the desk peddler and that’s okay for now. My total steps for the day are up – from averaging 3,000 per day to 4-5,000 a day – and I see that as a win.

Over the weekend, I made a whole chicken and potatoes. My kid didn’t like the potatoes and made himself some rice, which I added to my lunch. For dinner, I had a salad because I was kinda feeling like one and the tuna was some added protein. The Itaki didn’t quite warm the potatoes all the way through. Or I was just impatient because I was hungry. Either way, I don’t think potatoes are viable for this type of meal and I’m gonna play around with some other options.

Today’s Workout: Okay, maybe not preparing?

My heartrate wasn’t as high as it normally would be because I wasn’t as focused. I was talking with my friends at the same time but, I still kept my legs moving. As for the title, I made the appointment with a podiatrist to have my strange toenails addressed and likely have them removed for good. Not to be gross but, some of my toes aren’t normal and the nail bed causes the nail to grow straight down into my skin. 43-year-old me has no problem making sure they don’t do that. I can get to my feet no problem. 53 or 63-year-old me may not and being a fan of The Toe Bro (I’d like the channel but it’s gone) I’ve seen what happens when an older person’s feet are neglected and the problems that can arise. I’m not keen on terrible infections that could kill me or make me lose a foot so, I’m taking care of that now. My hope is to have them all done in one go, heal up, and move on with my life. That means a long time healing and not being able to do any running. Hell, no intense walking. I’ll stick to my bikes for now and just be careful about my food and do any other exercises I can safely perform.

I fucking forgot the damn orange again… I just… UGH! Damnit… But the rest of the day went fine. Me and the kid are both obsessed with the pickled red onions I’ve been making and those are awesome on a good sandwich. I think I’m going to go back to broccoli for a while and I did so some research on other vegetables that can be steamed quickly for some more variety. I like what I make but it can get repetitive.

Today’s Workout: Preparations

While I’m working the stationary bike for now, I feel the urge to get on that treadmill again. I may restart c25k, I’m not sure but I want more movement. Something that gets the heart pumping more than the desk peddler. I’ve been rethinking how to prep dinners and such to make sure I still have time to write, blog, and do needlework. That’s the one great thing about the desk bike; I can multitask.

This was one of those weeks where I bought food with the best of intentions then ended up forgetting about things. I still have a problem eating enough fruit (or any fruit, actually) and I bought some oranges but I keep forgetting to eat them. My kid will eat them but, somewhere between the thought “Don’t forget to grab an orange” and packing my lunch, I forget to grab the damn orange. At least lunch and dinner went to plan…

Today’s Workout: PMS or Aging?

When I went for my checkup not only was my blood pressure high but all my levels were all over the place. That’s not normal for me since even though I wasn’t as active, I was still eating well. I did some lazy research and PMS/Periods can affect such things but, my doctor still suggested I get a monitor and take readings daily for a month and send her the results. Luckily I found one that syncs to an app and FSA will reimburse me for it. My knee is feeling better so I do hope to get back to running soon.

I changed lunch up by having broccoli instead of bok choy and I had a craving for a chicken Caesar salad for dinner that always shocks me how many calories are in it. It’s delicious and filling but yikes. Actually hitting 1200 calories a day is shocking since I started the Saxenda. And my stomach felt overfull. I’ll have to take it easy on the heavy salads, I guess.

Today’s Workout: Easing into it

wp-17363409027072662623244676772843

Ahhhhh yes, I’m back on my bullshit. My knee is feeling better and I’m itching to be active again. I’m starting off easy with my desk peddler because the last thing I need in my life right now is to injure myself… Again. I look forward to running but I don’t wanna end up taking myself out. I do plan on foot surgery this year so, I’d like to lose as much weight as possible to prepare for when I literally won’t be able to walk very well for a few weeks.

I’m back to my Itaki at work. I did get myself their ramen pot for Yule and I can’t wait to try it out. I’d love to do some soup and steamed vegetables in that one day but in the meantime. I’m sticking to what I know. I like to try out new devices at home before I bring them to work just in case it’s not suitable for whatever reason or another.

Today’s Workout: More Multitasking

wp-17320674418986155592132625230235

While I despise the summer, I am not enjoying how early it gets dark. It’s just no fun. I’m doing the bike for now since I can write while I’m on it. I am way behind in my daily word goals and need to get something done.

As menopause hasn’t relieved me of this burden just yet, I’m all up in my PMS and it’s when my appetite goes from “I am starving and must eat everything.” to “I would rather jump off the roof than put another morsel in my mouth.” Since I’d batch made chili, I’ve been bringing that for lunch but after my workout, I didn’t wanna eat anything. There was no way I was going to only have a bowl of chili for the entire day, I made some popcorn as a snack. It was a lot of salt for the day which is not helping with bloat but, I’ll deal with that as it comes. Cravings gonna craving.

Today’s Workout: Easy does it

wp-1731600277257684416217054064180

I decided on a nice, chill run today before work so I don’t do anything to upset my stomach again. I feel okay but I’m a bit paranoid. Spending hours running back and forth vomiting will do that to ya.

I thought about having something for breakfast but I let my stomach chill out until lunch and had a sandwich. I think the bread helped because dinner sat just fine. It always shakes me up to be that sick so, It takes me a few to get back to normal. Having a run did really help. It felt familiar to be on the treadmill and moving my body. My food is gonna be chaotic for a bit since I’m trying to clear out my fridge so it’s easier for me to replace it when Black Friday rolls around. Should I spend the money? No. Is my current fridge making odd noises? Yup. Time for it to go.

Today’s Workout: Not Fun

I’ve been taking it easy because I ended up with food poisoning on Sunday night after work. I usually am able to make a take out order last three days so, I didn’t think it was a big deal to heat up my leftover Chinese from Fritday before I went to work on Sunday. By the end of the night, I was vomiting. It got so bad, I couldn’t even hold down stomach meds to stop the vomiting. I ended up staying home from work Monday and clearly not doing any running or biking. I could barely stand up straight from the painful gas buildup. I feel better not and did another body weight workout with Zombies Run. I have to say, this is the first mission that made me actively dislike Sam. He’s always been my favorite and here he’s just the worst.

I was able to hold down my normal type of food and stay around 1,000 calories even without the Saxenda. There was NO WAY I was going to deal with the side effects of that AND food poisoning. No fucking thank you. The pasta was really comforting for dinner after all the stomach issues. I tried this with the lemon-flavored olive oil from Trader Joe’s and it was SO good. It ain’t cheap but it’s good. I will absolutely keep getting it as long as they don’t discontinue it.

Today’s Workout: Stages

wp-17309941109047708227739252093727

Like a lot of people, I’m cycling through the various mourning for recent events but what I seem to be feeling the most is anger. I’m channeling that into getting fit, getting strong, working harder, and getting armed. Running and cycling will help me with endurance and I have resistance bands to get stronger.

I honestly wasn’t very hungry given… EVERYTHING. But thinking about food, I’m going to make more time for gardening to save money so maybe the bok choy you see me eating I would have grown myself! Who knows? I should totally grow white onion since I use it so often but we shall see. I am doing a lot of overtime in the winter and if my sales get better, I won’t have to take so much and have more time to grow food. I have been working on decluttering my yarn:

These scarves will be in the shop soon and I have larger projects in the works. Things that are a little more complicated and take more time. But, there is more to come!

Today’s Workout: Disassociate

wp-17308497496852452410173228182812

I don’t have much so say. What is there to say? I guess I better make sure I get all my medical stuff in order as soon as possible.

I tried to time making dinner around my run. Yeah, it’s a salad but I made food tor my kid and for tomorrow. Honestly, I wasn’t very hungry.
