Today’s Workouts: Worth It

It was a rough day. I can’t even sometimes… It is so stressful to work with the public some days that I am kinda glad I did a run today. I felt so much better after; not perfect cause I was still annoyed but better. Or I managed to exhaust myself so I didn’t have the spare energy to be annoyed. I dunno. Any public facing job is bound to have it’s bad days.

Today is a rare day where I actually had three meals. Misfits Market had some chocolate croissants that are less than 200 calories a pop and they taste amazing with a good cup of coffee. For lunch, I had left over steak and potatoes and dinner was a salad that I ended up giving half of to my kid. I think that was a good amount of protein for the day because my run was so smooth. I didn’t feel like I’d been skipping it for weeks at all and it didn’t feel too easy, if that makes any sense at all. I hope I can keep this up because it isn’t so bad!

Today’s Workout: Weekend Run

wp-1724512657167190967598151220259

Since I don’t usually get the chance to sleep in on weekends, I got up for a run after I got my laundry started. It’s convenient to run on laundry day since I just toss the sweaty clothes right in the hamper to be cleaned that day.

What is not fun is going up and down the stairs with laundry for the rest of the day after being sore from a run. But boy, do I get a ton of steps in! FYI, I am using C25k again. It helps with keeping time and I’m able to push myself on the intervals. Since my shoulder is still sore, I’m not doing any kettlebell for a bit. I’m applying plenty of pain cream, taking mild painkillers, and resting it as much as I can do I can get back to it.

There’s no pictures of food because I didn’t cook today. I was tired by the end of the day so, I’ll save that for tomorrow.

Today’s Workout: Challenge Day 3

wp-17152075832327062099594853859966

When I tell you I hadda make sure I didn’t talk myself out of working out today by walking into the house and getting right into my workout clothes. I am so sore and crampy… I seriously hope once my period is over for this month, my muscles can feel sore for the right reasons.

I completely forgot breakfast and coffee this morning but I managed to muddle through. I ate the last of the salmon and potatoes I made for lunch and a BLT salad for dinner. I was so excited to have half an avocado in there but the ones I got on Monday that were like rocks were already rotten by today. Not happy about that waste but I tossed it in the yard so at least maybe some neighborhood critter can take advantage of it instead of it ending up in a landfill. I just needed something different from tuna or chicken on a salad for a change and I’m trying to clean out my current fridge as I save up for a new one. It’s making a funny noise and I’d like to get ahead of the problem.

And Goggle fit is on some BS right now removing and reinstating my steps. I have enough anxiety, Google; I don’t need your help.

Today’s Workout: Week 4 something, something

wp-17138257524027784748735380275148

With my kid gone for the week, I’m trying to run after work again. Since the Saxenda makes it so I don’t feel hungry right when I get home, I went to run first then felt a little peckish afterwards. After that, I’ll make something for dinner. I tell ya, the 5 minute interval was tough but I’ve done longer intervals and I’ll get used to this again. I just have to go back to being that annoying person who stops life until I can workout since it’s important for me to keep it up.

After my Itaki lunch, I made myself a salad after my workout. I remembered to use the cucumber I bought but forgot the radishes… I hope I remember them next time because I did a clean out of the fridge and I was so pissed at how much food I’d had to throw out because my kid was all “Of course I’ll eat it” and had someone order Chipotle for him behind my back. Then he’ll complain I don’t cook for him… Then when I do, he’ll brag I should open a restaurant but won’t finish the food. Teenagers don’t make sense!!!

Today’s Workout: C25K Week 4

wp-17120968102685752294948461420890

I know it’s only Tuesday but, I think I’m doing pretty good with getting in my running after work. If I stick to doing it right when I walk in the door before I can talk myself out of it, I bet I can get 4 runs in this week. It does take time away from my evening writing/editing/needlework but if I’m not healthy, I can’t do any of those things. Plus, I think it is actually helping with the depression symptoms.

I have been eating breakfast; usually one toaster pastry because I can eat that on the go but I’m still working my way through my batch of flank steak and rice, then I made a salad for dinner after my run. Everything together actually broke 1,000 calories, which is rare but since I’m running again, I’m not going to worry. I clearly burned a ton of calories today and got my heart rate up. Also, I don’t feel that horrid overfullness I can get on the Saxenda if I overeat. I feel satisfied and accomplished. Sore, but accomplished.

Today’s Workout: Who cares?

These days I’ve skipped running after work because I’m too tired but today I was still too tired but did it anyway. Because who cares if I’m tired, I gotta do it anyway. I walked into the house, changed my clothes, and got it over with.

At first I wasn’t hungry when I got home since I had rice and some flank steak but after my run, I felt a little peckish. I got some tuna in water, added an onion, lemon juice and olive oil and that hit the spot. I thought about making a full on salad but this was more than enough.

I’m gonna try and keep going to run 3-4 times a week since I have a doctor’s appointment coming up and I’d like to show more progress so maybe the insurance/pharmacy will stop playing around with my refills of Saxenda. I’ve been waiting a MONTH since the last time I requested a refill and it’s still “delayed.”

In other news, my fingernails are going back properly! I’ve been taking my vitamins regularly, drinking less, and it’s working! Hopefully, that separation will never happen again.

Today’s Workout: This works!

wp-17069735591967669144562427744157

I usually take weekends off from workouts but getting up to run on Saturday and Sunday is totally worthwhile. Especially on Saturdays since if I’m not working that day, I spend that day doing laundry so, I can wash the sweaty clothes right away. I’m still on the fence about if it’s worth taking two showers but I guess it’s not necessary if I’m not going anywhere and I can save on the water bill.

While I am working out on the weekends, I did not stick to my diet. I will be completely honest about that. Lately I’ve been craving snacks; especially late in the evening. I need to get disciplined about not eating anything after dinner is done no matter how much I just feel like munching on something. It’s not worth it in the long run and it’s affecting my progress.

Today’s Workout: Absolutely wild.

wp-17068009438461541456815910024600

I actually got up and made sure to get a run in before I went to work and while I may bitch and complain about it before and during the workout, it felt great to get that out of the way before anything else that day.

I didn’t take time for breakfast since I didn’t want to delay the workout at all and risk talking myself out of it but, I did have a sandwich for lunch and my usual Itaki dinner. I have this random period where I decide sandwiches are my jam and I need to have one but I didn’t make my own bread this time. I really should because the cost of a loaf of bread is fucking WILD. I need to make a habit of dragging out the bread machine since a bag of flour, yeast, and butter all together is cheaper by serving than just buying bread. Anything to save a few bucks, ya know?

Today’s Workout: Scheduling

wp-17064595238844272044630351845465

After concluding I just don’t have the energy to run after work anymore, I thought doing it on my days off would work better. Instead of sleeping in, I got up and got on the treadmill before starting any chores. I restarted C25K and it felt good to be running again. It’s the best way for me to burn as many calories as possible.

I didn’t take any photos of my food but to run it down, I had some leftover pizza for lunch and made salmon, rice, and broccoli for dinner. And there’s plenty left to pack for tomorrow. I also got a bunch of cleaning done and found a bunch of books to donate to the library. Little by little, I’ll get rid of all the clutter.

Today’s Workout: Dodo’s?

wp-1699890325837

This series always has some strange turns. Fun turns but also strange.

I had to cover for someone on vacation so, I have two nights at work this week. Confusing for my brain but great for getting up to run before work without having to drag ass outta bed before the sun comes up. It was a good run and it made me feel accomplished first thing on a Monday. That’s always good.

wp-1699972530583

On Sunday, I made a pot of sauce. Its a pretty big pot so, I’ll be eating a lot of pasta to work my way through it. A tragedy, I know. For dinner, my friend had extra arroz con pollo with some chorizo and brought some for me. It was just the right amount of spice for me. I thought I’d save some for my kid but nah, I ate it all.

I also tried to make it a point to move around more during the day. I’ve been noticing some hip pain and I haven’t done any workouts to justify it. My lazy Google searching found that sitting too much can cause hip pain. I have a movement reminder on my watch and I’ll be doing my best to get up and walk around more often during the day and take time for some extra stretching. That should do the trick but I plan to talk to my doctor regardless.
