Today’s Workout: Unexpectedly Spicy

wp-1692814735915

Since I missed a day, I went a bit longer on the desk peddler today. Next week I’ll start running again and my period is coming so, I need to be active to help deal with soreness and cramping.

Since I’m trying to eat breakfast more often but don’t always have time to cook, I grabbed a pomegranate cherry toaster pastry from Trader Joe’s. Just one, I can’t eat two of them at once. For lunch it was my regular Itaki meal but as you can see from the little red spots in the dish, I also got one of those little pepper plants from Trader Joe’s and since it says it’s high on the Scoville scale, I just used one. And they are quite potent! Just the one went very will with the spices I already use to marinate the meat. When it gets cooler and I start making chili again, I’ll totally use these peppers in it. If I can keep the plant alive till then. I kill a lot of plants for a witch. For dinner I had a small portion of chips and salsa since I wasn’t hungry after the big lunch.

Today’s Workout: Remember Bobby McFerrin?

wp-1692054183541

This session felt calf heavy so, tomorrow I need to focus more on my lower belly and thighs to keep things even. I was able to read some ARCs meaning there will be more book reviews posted soon.

I actually had three meals today. I didn’t have time to cook breakfast, so I grabbed some D-Plus bread on my way out of the house. Lunch was my Itaki usual and dinner, I was so excited for this salad. I hit up the farmer’s market over the weekend and got some beautiful tomatoes. And I don’t even feel bad about that; I am entitled to some simple pleasures in this capitalist hellscape we live in.

Today’s Workout: All a mess

I had another webinar for some upcoming titles (please pity my TBR pile…) so it just made sense to use that time to be on the desk peddler. The heart points get a little off because I reach forward and use the computer to make note of books I want but calorie burn is calorie burn.

I wasn’t able to prep my lunch like usual so I went for a tuna sandwich on a bagel; meaning I had a nice walk on my lunch break. For dinner, I’m working on the last of that baked chicken. Both meals were a hot mess (the young lady who put the bagel together didn’t quite get it right) but a meal doesn’t have to look good to taste good. And I had plenty of protein for the day, did my squats, and a bit of ab work. I keep forgetting to use the apps I have for those. I need to make sure I use them.

Today’s Workout: Wrong Container

wp-1691433302391

We had some special online training today and I did my desk peddler during that since I didn’t wanna just sit for an hour. It was not doing the workout that left me completely confused about the software I was learning. I’m the type who has to get into the thing and use it to learn about it not just attend a training.

For lunch I was still working on the left over chicken so I didn’t take a picture. Dinner however, I had a salad but I wasn’t paying attention when I reached for the pepper; thinking it was in it’s usual spot and ended up putting basil on the tomatoes. It wasn’t bad honestly but I did have a chuckle at that.

Also, I am now down to 202.2 pounds and I’m proud of the work I’ve done so far.

Today’s Workout: New Things

wp-1691000514519

Despite the low heart points in this workout, I did spend a good deal of the day walking around to gather ingredients for a big cook this weekend. I have a whole chicken I really need to use so I can have room in my fridge.

Apparently, it was pasta day. Now that I’ve tried the Public Goods ramen on it’s own and not mixed with my usual Itaki meals, it’s pretty good! It definitely needs a protein or some kind of vegetable with it.

I did have a talk with my doctor about my numbers and she is very happy that the triglycerides are on a downward trend but has some concerns about my liver levels. She said it’s probably nothing but she wants to make sure everything is all good. Part of me doesn’t want to because I don’t want bad news but I gotta get it done and make sure I’m healthy.

Today’s Workout: Folded Burger?

wp-1690843273479

I’m continuing with the desk bike for now while it’s still hot. Which is funny since my office is always cold and it warms me up. Now that Camp NaNoWriMo is over, I can get more steps in my day to add to my activity.

For lunch I had leftover Chinese but for dinner, I tried my hand at that tortilla hack again this time making a burger type thing. I still overfilled it a bit but it didn’t completely fall apart like the last time I made it. And the child enjoyed it! I used a whole wheat tortilla and a few almond slices in there. Did I need bacon? No, but I wanted it and it was delicious. It’s a fun little thing to do and I can see why people do it. I bet I could make a killer breakfast this way.

Today’s Workout: Doin Okay!

wp-1690394474984

It was a good day despite being a little sleepy. And my hips kinda hurt but that’s from carrying some heavy stuff a few days ago and I just have to wait until it goes away.

I’m out of red meat so, I’m making my usual lunch with chicken this time. I’m still working my way through my ramen stash and only using half a block and if there is seasoning, just a dash of it along with the other spices. That way it’s not too salty and I don’t waste anything. For dinner, I made some pasta to go with the broccoli I baked the other day. Along with the bok choy and snow peas, I had plenty of vegetables for today. I still need to work on my protein but over the week, I did have tuna and plenty of chicken so, I think I’m doing alright.

Today’s Workout: Sleepy but workin.

wp-1690230208461

I am still struggling with making breakfast, particularly because I stay up too late the night before and hit snooze too many times. Not to mention my allergies closing up my nose in the middle of the night and trying to get back to sleep. But, I still managed to get the energy to use the peddler today.

Since I was pressed for time, I just made a salad for lunch. I had taken a picture of dinner; which was baked broccoli and garlic over rice but my phone decided I didn’t need it. I cooked the entire bag of broccoli (because I didn’t want it to go bad) so, there’s plenty of leftovers.

Including the tuna was important since my hunger is increased while I’m off the Saxenda. Without it, I haven’t had the issues with gas but I’ll keep a close eye on it once I start back up again next week. I know it works and I still have 20 pounds to go.

Today’s Workout: Summer Slump

wp-1689625271730

Ugh, I am so over summer. The even in the air conditioning, the humidity is just miserable. I have a major case of the dunwannas just all the time. It’s taking way too much effort to get motivated these days.

Even though I’m not feeling motivated, I did get up early enough to make myself some breakfast. I’m gonna have to make this a regular habit as not only did I not feel faint or anything, I didn’t feel like I was starving once lunch rolled around. Same goes with dinner; which had some spinach in my normal salad to get some extra iron. I am taking a multivitamin with extra omega 3 as my doctor advised as well. All of this work isn’t just about losing weight, it’s about staying healthy as I age. The last thing I want is to end up barely mobile and on a bunch of meds.

Today’s Workout: Fingers crossed!

I had an appointment with my doctor today and pending the results of my blood tests, she says she can tell I’m losing weight just from my face. I am really hopeful that my triglycerides will be better. I know a few things may be off since I’m on my period (I actually feel anemic) but I bet the doctor will have some positive things to say about my levels.

I tried a little something different with my lunch today by using those Trader Joe’s squiggly noodles instead of plain ramen noodles and it was meh. They took longer to cook, were kinda chewy, and left me feeling over full. I ended up making popcorn for dinner (also, it’s fast to make so I could get to writing).

I have my follow up appointment in a few weeks so, let’s all hope there’s good news.
