June Loot Crate: “Alter Ego”

While the bowl and statue are cool, my favorite is the shirt. It is a great design and it’s SOOOOO comfortable. I get stares and complements every time I wear it.

My problem with getting dishes is they are not microwave safe and sometimes can’t even be used for hot foods. So it’s a fancy cereal bowl… If I ate cereal more often that’d be great but I’d like to be able to put all types of food in the dishwear they provide in these boxes. It may be nitpicky of me to say so but it is what it is.

Loot Anime: “Unnatural”

I’m not gonna lie, the cup is super cool but I have so many now, I’d rather some other item. XD

Out of this whole box, Death Note is the only fandom I’m familiar with. I’ve seen a bit of Parasyte here and there, I’ve read Noragami, but I have no idea what Mob Psycho is. I’ll have to look into that…

Of course, I’ll review the manga and possibly get to watching the anime in the future. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it even if the stretchy art style gives me the creeps (blame Uzumaki for that).

I do think I’m getting less individual items lately; despite the items themselves being cool. It’s far from feeling like a rip-off, just leaving me wanting more.

Loot Crate: J. K. Rowling’s Wizarding World

Omg, those plates… XD Those are just the funniest random item.

Fantastic Beasts is the only Potter movie I haven’t seen from the series. And THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for stationary sets. I mean, this is Harry Potter. They use parchment paper and quills; a geeky writer’s dream. This paired with the pencil case made this box for me.

One day when I’m not poor anymore and I can fix up my kitchen, I am hanging those plates. That’s not even a question. The pin? To be honest, it makes me a little nervous. Any dangly things make me nervous. I always think it will catch on something when I wear it or use it and it will break. Does it look cool? Yes. Would I break it like a klutz so I will likely keep it in a case so it’s safe? Yup.

I certainly hope more journals and stationary are in future boxes. When I went to Universal’s Harry Potter world, they had beautiful journals so it would be awesome to get some sort of exclusive journal or pens not seen in the park or in stores. Like an ACTUAL Tom Riddle diary. How amazing would that be!?

But that’s not a drawback or a criticism, just some ideas on what I’d like to see in the future. 🙂

Loot Anime: “Humanity”

And the box turns into one of the houses from Attack in Titan; which is pretty cool but I try not to keep the boxes for clutter reasons. But coaster and box are awesome, the figure is cute, but can we talk about that AWESOME notepad?! The ‘leather’ holder has the same emblem engraved on it and a clip on the back to hook it to whatever. I can see putting it on my belt or the strap to a messenger bag. It comes with a flat pencil; which may be a pain to sharpen but it meshes with the design of the case. Maybe a flat styled pen with widely available refills would have been just as good but that’s more of a nitpick than a criticism.

I am glad to be getting some stationary stuff because I always suggest them when I take the customer surveys. I would love exclusive journal designs and such because I obviously have a sickness that can only be cured by more books. 😉

April Loot Crate: Investigate

Is it bad that I stopped caring at the shirt? Because I stopped caring at the shirt. XD They could have sent JUST THAT, and the crate would have been a win.

As a total geek, I am down for old school pencils. And they are printed with sayings from the show; such as ‘I want to believe’ and ‘The Truth is Out There.’ And MAJOR props for not assuming customers had a pencil sharpener. I do, since in the rare instances I do draw, I use sketch pencils and colored pencils. These are a tiny but appreciated detail since I’m a fan of the show.

The mug changes to have Joker graffiti in the sky and the Batman signal light. Very awesome.

As for the Q-Fig, I like the fact Jessica isn’t just posed. She’s kicking a brick wall down. Much more dynamic to look at.

Oh, and the box turns into a suitcase… I never manage to do anything with the changing boxes. I give them to my kid to do.

Final thoughts? STRANGER THINGS SHIRT!!! 😀

March 2017 Loot Crate: Primal

I think the Wolverine figure is pretty amazing but out of all of this stuff, the sign is my favorite. Just because it made me giggle. At first, I thought the shirt was actually from the game Primal Rage; which I was obsessed with back when it came out. I will confess, I was a little disappointed it wasn’t but Overwatch is cool, too. Referencing that game I think would be too obscure of a throwback, though. I can’t even recall any of my friends back then talking about that game.

The bottle opener is ok and the statue has some real weight to it. I can safely say that alone makes this crate worth the cost. I am looking into some zip ties to hang the sign up (along with another sign I have floating around) and I will proudly be displaying it outside. I want the whole neighborhood to know how big a geek I am.

Loot Anime Box: Together

Ok, that One Piece figure freaks me right the hell out. I mean, look at that face. That screams “I will be eating your soul as you sleep.” I’ve also never really been a fan of One Piece. I gave the show a try and it just didn’t grab me. In fact, I haven’t seen any of the anime in this crate. I end up feeling ‘blah’ about it because of that. As a result, most of this is gonna get passed on to better fans than me.

Except for the book. Of course, I’m gonna read that.

Saffron was such a fun character and her figure is adorable. You can’t tell from the pic but she’s hiding that gun behind her back.

Out of all the boxes I get, I think the Firefly box has the best shirts. I get a lot of keychains and statues and such but other than the Mario shirt from the other Loot Crate I got, I’m much more excited for the shirts in this subscription than any other. I think this one has the best value, too; when I factor in the average number of items I end up keeping for myself.

January Loot Crate: Origins

My favorite item here is the shirt. Not only is that my actual birth year, it’s MARIO. The pin is cute, the mug is like a shot glass, really, and shield is cute, and I’m keeping that comic in the plastic because I’m paranoid, but that shirt is the star here.

The only thing I dislike about this crate is it makes me feel old as fuck… But that can’t be helped.

I don’t know exactly what I would have expected from an ‘origins’ crate but this stuff is ok. It seems a little light on items overall but that Mario shirt makes me too happy to care.

December Loot Anime: Space; and a short hiatus

Ein wins. That’s it. The rest of the box could have been filled with gold and I’d still love Ein the most.

Since I’m not the biggest fan of Robotech, I threw that up on eBay so a real fan can buy it.

And yeah, there’s no update for today’s Finally Watched It and that’s because I’m taking some time for the holidays. I am super busy and regular posts will resume on Monday. Have a happy and healthy everyone!
